Edward Starcher Likes To Do Things With His Hands

Naples, FL- I hate it when people make empty threats. I’m never going to talk to you again. I’m going to run away. I’m going to kill your mother. I’m going to do my own laundry from now on. If only that last one would stick. A friend of my hubby’s once said he wished someone would invent something to make the menial chores like washing dishes and doing laundry less troublesome. I told them they did. Unfortunately, it’s called a woman. Oops, now I’m getting off track again. Here’s the story.
All evening this last Wednesday, 24-year old Edward Starcher warned his 25-year old girlfriend, Nora Moran, that he was going to kill her mother. Why? Who knows, but neighbors have stated that hearing loud arguments coming from the residence was a normal thing. Around 4 a.m. on Thursday, Starcher appeared in the bedroom he shared with Nora and their 7-month old daughter wearing a pair of yellow rubber gloves. He told Nora that he was going to sneak into her mother’s bedroom, but she didn’t believe him. A short time later, she heard several loud bangs and then Starcher returned to their room covered in blood and holding a knife. When he told his girlfriend she needed to help him clean up and hide the evidence, she grabbed their child and high-tailed her ass out of the house to a neighbor’s where she called 911.
Possibly bummed that this was one chore he could not count on his woman to help him with, Starcher began cleaning up. When officers arrived, they found the body of 59-year old Veronica Moran wrapped in a comforter, which had been removed from her bedroom. Starcher, who still had on his rubber gloves, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Starcher has been arrested before on theft charges and several drug charges. Starcher’s mother described her son as “very loving with a mind of his own.” She said, “My son likes to do things with his hands.” Really?

I’m asking the same thing as Coyote… he said he was going to do, went so far as to don yellow rubber gloves before doing as he’d promised and sneaking into the woman’s room with a knife. How the hell is this 2nd degree?
And yes, mom sounds as stupid as the son. Who the hell would say he “likes to do things with his hands,” in response to THIS?

Holy shit…. Freaky inbred looking shit head. I am stunned at how fucking heartless he is and how stupid the wife is. Did she want her mother dead? If some asshole told me he was gonna kill my mother, I doubt I would roll over and go to sleep. Hmph.

The fact that the GF told the cops that he told her he was going to sneak in the GF’s mom’s room and kill her makes me think they planned it and he was ready to take the fall so baby mama wouldn’t get sent to the pokey. I wouldn’t be to shocked to see her hauled off for the deed. It sounds so fishy.

Yeah – WTF?! – sounds extremely fishy! “She didn’t believe him” . . . .??? – there is just no possible scenario where the statement, “I’m going to kill your mother,” is acceptable! The yellow gloves should have raised ANOTHER red flag – geez – it took him covered with blood to get a reaction out of her?? Unbeliebable! Literally!

Looks to me as if he was REALLY good with his hands! And how do you get charged with second degree murder when this was plainly premeditated?
I need to move to Florida. Maybe I can kill my ex and get a bounty for it.

Re second v. first degree murder — in NY first degree murder is reserved for murders of officers of the court (police, judges, etc.) rather than a charge that includes premeditation. Perhaps the same is true in Florida.

I don’t understand the 2nd degree charge either since the requirement for 1st degree (in Florida) is premeditation. Although I do know that in some cases they start off with a lesser charge and then amend them.

eddie is one of my best friends to think he did this turns my stomach if he didnt confess id never belive it as for nora having something to do wit this…. never i never really liked her but i had nothing against her they are both loving parents and good friends if you have nothing nice to say dont say it you have no right to judge and only god has his fate now. and he wasnt that good with his hands cuz he got fired from hertz equipment and i always did work on his car

wen he was born he had brain cancer he has a 9″ scar on the back of his head from it he beat it at age 15 so somthing wrong in his head maybe but he never did me or any one i know wrong yea the brain cancer thing they dont roll that in the paper he is a good dude n ill stand by that he made a mistake in the heat of a moment and all of us do it some worse than others and he will pay the ultimate price

I know Eddie and Nora. They are both decent people. He obviously snapped….him and the g/f’s mom didn’t get along very well and they must have had a heated argument that led to this terrible thing. I guess he lost it…. No one can judge him except for God. Unless you know all the facts you can’t really say what happened.I certainly don’t know what happened but I wish it wouldn’t have happened.All I know is that they are both great parents and good people. Ive known them for years. It’s a tragedy what happened and he will have to pay the price for what he did…. I wondered when I heard about this if the brain surgery he had in the past had anything to do with his lack of control in this situation….. but I’m not a doctor. I just pray for everyone involved. It is very sad for the families…. nobody wins in a situation like this.It is a sad day for all of them.

JustLooking; Anyone can judge him, and the Judge certainly will. God isn’t here to judge anyone, and apparently doesn’t care what goes on. Let’s stop using cliches.
We do know what happened. He killed someone. He was caught red handed. As far as lack of control… why would you even think about killing someone?

Actually, plenty of people win in a situation like this one: all the people who were going to run into this guy in the future, who now don’t have to die the next time he has a faux brain injury-related “sudden snap” because he’ll be safely behind bars. I hope.
