Las Vegas, Nevada–Jonathan Weaver and his girlfriend had an arrangement, he would care for her two children, ages 1 and 2, while she attended night school. It was a routine they had followed, without issue, for nearly a year. Though the pair didn’t live together, Jonathan was like a father to those children. So, why the hell is he being featured here at the Dreamin’ Demon? To put it bluntly, he left the children, bound, gagged, and hooded, in a locked garage, so he could attend a basketball game.
Tuesday evening, Amanda Freeman and her family were paying a visit to her sister, who resided in the Augusta Apartments. While walking past a stand-alone garage behind the apartment complex, Amanda heard a child’s cry coming from inside the garage. “I put my ear up and I was like, ‘There’s a baby in there.’ I honestly thought someone left their kid in the car, end of story.” She called 911. About 5 minutes later, cops and firefighters were on the scene. Amanda’s husband, Justin, watched as the fire crew cut the garage door open. He was more than a little shocked when he spotted two terrified toddlers in the garage, in the middle of the floor, strapped into car seats, with pillowcases pulled over their heads like a hood. “I could not believe it. police believe the boys had been left alone in that condition, by Jonathan, for more than 2 hours. The children were taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries before being released to CPS.
Jonathan Weaver, 20, who has no previous criminal history, is now facing charges of child abuse and neglect, child endangerment, kidnapping, and attempted murder. Police believe Weaver may have intended to kill the children, hence the attempted murder charge. The children’s mother will not face any charges in the incident and is now trying to get her babies back from CPS.

The extreme he went to is almost unbelievable. Those kids must of been terrified! Thank goodness that woman heard their crys. I am so thankful she actually stepped up and called police. I hope this guy gets punished to the maximum!

It’s bad enough to leave children alone – but bound and gagged? Sounds like he was looking for a permanent way out of the babysitting arrangement. Thank God Amanda Freeman heard their cries! I shudder to think what might have happened. Poor little babies.

When will women stop leaving their children with these men?? My son will only be left with my husband (his father) and his grandfather. I won’t even leave him with his 17 year old cousin. You just have to be so careful who cares for your children.

I know these Lil Fellas are going to be extremely afraid of the dark for some time, maybe forever!! What an evil thing to do to a toddlers psyche, I pray they never have to look at or remember weaver for the rest of their lives, I pray happiness and sweetness over them from now on!!

Agreed on the part about her not defending him - But you have to wonder how / why she started leaving the kids with him in the first place (never mind that he is creepy looking). I would have NEVER left my kids with a male “friend”!!! It’s a sad world we live in, but you have to be so careful who you leave kids with.

Yep, a sad but obviously true fact. You cannot trust anyone with your kids, personally I’ve always been suspicious of bf’s that offered to watch my kids (red flag!!redflag!!). Anyone who has ever done any kind of child care knows how much hard work, time & attention is involved. If you dont LOVE kids you are NOT going to enjoy doing it unless you have a secret ulterior motive. And so often, they do.

JD – that was my point. I bet this creep doesn’t even have any kids of his own. There is just something so strange about grown men offering up babysitting services when they aren’t related to or in a relationship with the mother and do not have children of their own. Even then you have to be careful. Call me paranoid – Maybe I spend too much time here to put my child in that sort of situation. It seems that they all end the same way.

I’m with you, call me paranoid too but I figure they are only small a short time & i can be “paranoid” for that long. I had a goal when I had my kids, and that was seeing them to adulthood with as few scars, trauma & abuse as humanly possible. I gave up a lot to do that, but so what? I can sleep at night without being haunted by what may have happened to one of my kids when I wasnt around. We had to live poor at times but we got through it & it didnt hurt us any.

One article I read said the garage isn’t attached to the apartment, its close but not like a regular garage is. Jonathan and the Bio-mom don’t even live together they have separate places. Which is kid of strange to me if he was the babysitter of a 1 and 2 year old. The cops are saying they are sure he was going to kill the kids. Though they didn’t say why.

According to his arrest report, Weaver admitted to police that he tied the two boys, ages 1 and 2, with rope and stuffed cloth in their mouths because he wanted to watch a basketball game at a nearby bar. The boys were found by police and firefighters, who suspect they were left alone for at least two hours in a garage.
Weaver said he “could not believe what he was about to do” when he thought about tying up the children while they were both in car seats, according to the arrest report.
“We’re glad it wasn’t a normal June day, because if the heat was there, they would’ve never made it,” Flory said.

Okay…. no visable means of support 20 something yr old “Mom” already has a 1 & 2 year old she leaves with her bf of the moment who damn near kills them, and she’s already pregnant with the scumbags baby too, Ummm…i just wrote “mom” off too. She’s obviously not interested in anything other than spouting out more victims for future boyfriends. I hope they take these 2 away & as soon as she pops out the third one take that one from her too. I pray they all go to decent caring homes & she doesnt get them back.
