Antoine Johnson Is A Pervy Poser

Gwinnett County, Georgia–I’m tellin’ ya, pervs these days are getting so creative! Take Antoine Johnson, for example. Johnson was itchin’ to get into the pants of a 13-year-old boy. Before I go any further with this, I must say, the 13-year-old victim I will be speaking of is obviously lacking in the smarts department. Anyway, last June, Johnson made a fake Myspace, where he posed as a 16-year-old girl. Using this imaginary female, he contacted the young boy and promised him sexual favors…but only if he would allow her brother to perform sexual acts on him first.

Now, I know that some teens will do just about anything to get laid…but to agree to having some older dude bugger ya in order to get laid by a female? That’s just retarded. Well, the kid agreed. Johnson picked the kid up, took him to a vacant house, where he performed various sexual acts on the child. I’m assuming the kid was pissed off, confused, and embarrassed when the imaginary female didn’t hold up her end of the bargain. He didn’t speak to anyone about the incident for an entire year.

The kid began talking when he found out Johnson had made contact with one of his friends using the fake Myspace. Same fake Myspace, same fake girl, same line he used with the original kid. On June 5, Johnson was supposed to meet with the original victim and his friend, but instead of hooking up with a couple of teen boys, Johnson was met by police. Antoine Johnson, 26, was charged with two counts of aggravated child molestation and two counts of child molestation. Additional charges are forthcoming regarding the intended meeting with the victim and his friend last week. He is being held without bond.

There are conflicting reports on this one. The articles I used to research the story stated that the fake female promised sexual favors only if the kid allowed her older brother to bugger him. In the news video, the kid’s mother claims that Antoine was only going to meet the kid to make sure he was trustworthy enough to meet the fake female, or some shit like that, and ended up raping him. She also claims that Antoine blackmailed the kid into meeting him again on at least 2-3 different occasions. Whatever the case, I hope the kid is getting some mental help.

Would you say that some slurs are more generally offensive than others? Is “cunt” more generally offensive than “bitch”, for example? Is the word “n*gger” not more offensive than, well, pretty much anything else?

It’s not about being politically correct. There’s politically correct (i.e., if I chose to refer to ReDDs as an “African-American” rather than “black”), then there’s unnecessarily offensive (i.e. had someone called this man a “n*gger”). I never said that ReDDs couldn’t call this man what she did, I simply suggested it wasn’t classy.

To me, it differs from “retard” (or variations thereof) in that the word “retard” is a legitimate word, even when used in reference to the criminals featured on this site. It means “to be delayed”. Even it’s slang form means, “a person who is stupid, obtuse, or ineffective in some way: a hopeless social retard” (Dictionary.com). As you can see, even its derogatory usage is not inconsistent with its literal meaning.

Where do I draw the line, personally? Words with no other purpose than to be offensive are worse than those with legitimate meanings that are simply being used in a derogatory manner. For example, in American vernacular, the words “n*gger” and “faggot” have absolutely no meaning beyond their usage as a slur. “Bitch” or “retard” or even “gay”, on the other hand, are actual words with non-offensive meanings that have been commandeered for derogatory purposes.

May seem trivial, to some, but this is a pretty common social standard. In other words, like with many things, it’s all a matter of degrees, rather than all or nothing. Be discriminating.

We are all different. Different personalities. Different levels of education. Different upbringing. Even being from different parts of the nation makes us somewhat different.
I am obviously from North Carolina where I do believe you will find a fair share backwoods, rasist bigots. I grew up in a house that used the N word religiously. To this day, you may use the word Fuck in my house but not the N word. I thought it was belittling and offensive all of my life.
My grandparents used this word to refer to just a race of people. Wrong, I know. But these same folks had a black man they took in. He lived, ate and worked side by side on the farm with us. He changed everyone of us grandkids diapers whether our moms were around or not. He loved us and we certainly loved him. He was FAMILY. We called him Uncle George.
Well, things were different in the sixties. When Uncle George went to town and didn’t come back we searched every inch of the town for him. We eventually found him. Battered, bleeding, and near death at the hands of the KKK. They thought George had a white girlfriend.
We brought George home and one of my family members sat at his bedside night and day until we got him healed. Many tears were shed for this man until he was out of the woods. It hurt and it changed a little girl who watched it all.

Now, my family as I said used the unmentionable word. Not educated? You are right. My grandfather had a third grade education but could read a newspaper cover to cover. We were poor, white, tenant farmers. But they were classy enough to go after one of our own because red, yellow, green or fucking pink he was one of our own.
Athena, I have long respected your intelligence, opinions and your eloquent ways with the English language. You have answered some questions for me on this site. Sometimes being classy and possessing intelligence means not calling others out on their flaws that they may or may not have.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it one more time. There is a concerted effort by many people to equate homosexuality with pedophilia, as if the two are interchangable.    For that reason alone, it’s not the same as referring to some random dickhead as a “retard.” I also think Athena has done a great job of articulating why not all slurs are created equal, and to that I would like to add a little emphasis on the importance of INTENT. As Siobhan and Morbid said, if anyone thinks ReDDs wasn’t hating on homosexuals just as much as pedos with her comments, well…I think you’re kidding yourselves. I don’t mean that to be a bitch, but this is an extremely common method of demonizing gay people, lumping them in with pedos.

I would also like to direct everyone back up to Malq’s ignorant comments. Malq doesn’t feel the need to beat around the bush as much as ReDDs.

I love how a thorough explanation for one’s position on something is often derided as “long-winded” by those opposed to that position, and only BECAUSE they are opposed. It’s a hell of a lot easier than going to the trouble of articulating your own view in response. Guess that’s why you excluded 2boysmom, since she agrees with you.

Comes off as pretty damn petty. If we’re going that route, someone could easily turn the tables on you and call your posts “simple-minded,” or something like that. It would be just as petty.
