Gwinnett County, Georgia – God must have been in one of his foul moods the other day when 25-year-old Sabrina Stanek stepped out to the side of the road in front of her home. She was trying to tell the driver of a large truck to quit speeding down their residential street. The driver, Constantine Toncz, 39, had sped through the 25 mph neighborhood a few times already. As she tried to flag Toncz down, Toncz ran off the road and crushed Stanek between the front of his truck and the back of a parked vehicle.

Her friends ran to the scene as Toncz got his drunk ass out of his truck and asked if he had hit a trashcan. The friends replied that no, actually you just hit our best friend. Toncz looked at Stanek’s body, said some profanity – then parked his truck at the end of the road and fled. He was later apprehended by police and charged with felony vehicular homicide, DUI, and felony leaving the scene of an accident. He is being held in the Gwinnett County Jail where tax payers will undoubtedly foot the bill for his defense and future room and board.

Meanwhile, friends and family are grieving the loss of Sabrina Stanek, and two children, ages 4 and 5, get to live with the fact that some drunk asshole turned their mother into a fucking hood ornament. God sure does have one twisted sense of humor, huh?

Hopefully, she did not feel that.

Damn!  Poor woman.  Just trying to do a good deed.  Guess it’s true, no good deed goes unpunished!  Go figure…

I’m sure she was trying to protect her children and worried everytime he came flying down the road.  I hate people like that.  We live in a small res neighborhood and we walk a lot.  There are a ton of kids around and some asshole is always flying down the road.  I always tell them to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!  Eventually someone will have to get hurt or killed to sink that into their tiny little brains.  I really feel for this woman’s family and understand where she is coming from.  Hopefully this guy frys!!!!  I can’t believe he asked if he hit a garbage can…….damn!

I saw this on the local news this morning.  The kids all saw it happen.  They are with her mother now.

It is so sad.  They said he lost control of his truck and hit her, but from the tracks up into her yard, It looks more like he aimed for her.
    A-HOLE.

I’m certainly not attacking the victim, but how many times have we read about someone running out to slow a drunk down and getting run over, the last thing I want to do is flag down a drunk its like waving a red blanket in front of a bull
Keep your kids in the house and call the cops, let them handle it, call all the neighbors have them call the cops, make sure they get someone out there fast, get the plate number if you can safely , use your phone get a picture from the safety of your house, But don’t go out trying to attract his attention.

“Why didn’t she call the law?” was the first thing I thought when I read this. RIP Sabrina

Shit like this is why I now live in the woods.  People that use the access road ALL use common courtesy and sense here.  Hell, you can’t even try to speed on this dirt road…  It’d screw up your vehicle too much.
As for the drunken asshole-baby; put him in a room with the grieving family & friends.  Let a little justice be meted out for once to one of these H&R dickheads.

I agree Cassiemomma, I have a few of them on my street.  I am sure the others will agree that this happens all over.  What do you do about someone like this?   Are the cops really going to come out and talk to these people?  Any suggestions, besides tire slashing?

I don’t know Jury, it really is a problem.  She also may not even of known he was drunk.  Possibly she saw him coming, fast of course, and anger took control to the point where she just threw up her hands and started yelling….who knows.  I can say that our homeowners board has called the sheriff’s dept a bunch of times and asked them to come sit in our neighborhood.  If anything maybe the presence of them there will help.  I have not seen them lately and in 5 years maybe only 2 or 3 times.  I have seen them on the main road so why can’t they just make a right turn and sit on our neighborhood for a while????  This really is a tragic story.

If you live in a neighborhood that people commonly speed through, getting the local media involved seems to get pretty immediate action. If it’s just one or two assholes that make a habit out of it, I’d buy a video-recorder (assuming you can see the street from the house) to catch them and offer the evidence to police. If you don’t have the resources, at least try to write down the dates and times they come flying through, and collect as much info about the car and driver as possible, and contact the police with that.

It may take awhile if you live in a high crime area, but police will usually attend to it eventually if you help them out by collecting info.

We had a child ran over in our neighborhood by a driver speeding and high on drugs. Everyone was outraged and wanted the speeding stopped. At the neighborhood watch meeting we suggested video taping the speeders-police said they would not even look at the tapes -they would have to be present to do anything.  Sounds like a cop out- but thats their stance here.

Stand at the end of your driveway, in a suit, with a hairdryer.  Point hairdryer @ bad driver whilst pretending to look at it very carefully as if reading small digitized numbers.  Granted this probably won’t work against someone who’s so drunk he thought a person was a trashcan.  For him, I think a jail cell with a large drunk with relative weight to his truck, a bad temper and a great need for something soft to sit on.

Sabrina Stanek was a childhood friend of mine, her son is turning 7 next week.  I hope this asshole gets the chair. I don’t want to be paying for his meals and bed, when her children will never have their mother again.  Tell me, how do you explain to a 7 year old where is mommy or to a little girl about to start kindergarden why her mom can’t hold her hand and walk her to class on the first day? AND WHAT MAKES ME EVEN MORE UPSET IS THE FACT THAT HE RAN!!!!  She wasn’t in the street, she was in her f’ing drive way!!!  SHE WAS PINNED TO HER SOON TO BE FINANCEE’S TRUCK!  SHE WAS A SINGLE PARENT! SHE WAS ALL THOSE TWO CHILDREN HAD! SCREW HIM!! I have NEVER HATED someone in my life UNTIL THIS JACKASS DECIDED TO GET INTO HIS TRUCK AND DRIVE INTOXICATED… NOT JUST DRIVE, BUT DRIVE RECKLESSLY!!!

Sabrina was my childhood babysitter and my friend. A family friend.  She was too good of a person to ever deserve this. Now Donna will have to take of her kids along with her own. This is not fair. We all love you and will miss you dearly Sabrina.

Drunk drivers should all be charged with attempted murder if they are lucky enough to be stopped before killing someone.  In this jackass’s case, it should be first degree murder.

There is no excuse for it. I’m tired of folks defending it. POS like this freak get slapped on the wrist, get their license taken away and keep driving.

    Wharrrrrrgarrrrrrrrrbl.

I have a neighbor who would not pause to pull into her driveway, if people were walking on the sidewalk, you’d better hurry. Our street has a lot of kids running on the sidewalk. Another neighbor took a large babydoll, wrapped it into a blanket and ”dropped” it in front of the car when she pulled into her driveway,  the neighbor with the doll screamed “my baby”  that bitch turned as white as a ghost! Needless to say, now she stops looks then pulls in.

When we lived in Idaho, there was a drunk asshole who would come careening down the street all the time. We called the police numerous times but even after mulitple DUIs, he still did it. So we took to throwing roofing tacks in his driveway behind his truck while we were out “walking the dog”. He lost 2 full sets of tires. He called the police and complained but they couldn’t prove who did it either time. So, at the end of the month he moved away, probably to terrorize another neighborhood.

I feel so badly for her children. Not only are they now motherless, they had to watch her die. Those poor babies. RIP Sabrina. I hope they fry that asshole.

DG that was funny about the hair dryer, but truth be told, that might work. We had a guy that always sped down our street and I finally sniped his window with a bb gun and left a note on his truck telling why there was a ding.  he didn’t go down our street no more.

but man look at that dent,  its kinda bad. ouch I hope she didn’t feel it either

First off Rest in peace Sabrina…. To Sabrina’s whole entire family, my sympathy to you all and my prayers are with you….. So sorry for your loss….
I live in Erie, PA and about a month a man was grilling out on a sunday afternoon and a car was speeding down his block, residential area.  He yelled out something to the driver and his kids and others were out grilling with him and the driver slowed down put care in reverse and got out of car and walked up to him and shot him dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What the fuck, just flip off the person yelling at you and keep going….. Last week me and my mom and the whole blvd. was having a block sale and kids riding bikes, stop signs, this crazy bitch was driving like 45 miles per hour up and down the street and NEVER stopping at stop sign, so finally i YELLED out, first instinct, to protect others and kids riding bikes, I yelled out, ” Hey, slow down”, she gave me attitude and Yelled something back, who knows and i continued to sit in my chair and she went past me like 5 times, but you know what i was waiting for this bitch to park the car and walk up to me so i could have wiped her all over the boulevard for starting with me…… the cops showed up and i think someone told her because we never did see her again, but your first instinct is to say something to someone first at least that is mine and my husband is like why would you do that she could have gun, knife, whatever and how does she not know that maybe I AM THE CRAZY BITCH but you guys make sense just call the cops first…. I understand now

I just want to again stress to the friends and family that I am really sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing.  I like to hear the back stories on a person and Sabrina sounded like a wonderful person.

    Nadine,
I read about that on goerie, I called my husband and told him.  Turns out my husband knew Jay.  He hadn’t seen him in a few years, but was pretty upset about it.  What a tragic situation, that guy was crazy!  I think they are having a benenfit for him on July 4th at Shades Beach……

I totally agree. How about the devil….ehh?…..idle hands and all.

Drunk bastard. I hope he rots in prison then in hell. Shit like this pisses me off so much. Yeah, I can see that staying away from a crazed driver was a safer option, but she shouldn’t have to fear being hit by a drunk driver in front our own home.! This is insanity. So damn glad my brother is off the streets and can’t pose harm like this. Fuckn’ hate drunk drives.

Rest in peace Sabrina. I know you will be missed.

I am not sure what this blog is. And I don’t normally post to these things. But these are very long time friends of mine! She babysat my children. Do you not think she had called the police several times before???? And yes, look at the tire tracks…. He just barely hit her?? These are very God devoted people, and good people, it is a shame! Please don’t say she should not have done what she did, going to the street. That guy should not have been drunk driving, and didn’t even know what he hit!!!!! And yes?? Where were the cops when they had made several calls? This girl and these kids did not deserve this! And now he gets to live in custody for free and live a free life..

my brother was the owner of the parked vehicle and Sabrina’s boyfriend. Being down there with them last week and seeing everything brought a lot of perspective. Sabrina was a devoted mother and wonderful person who was loved by all. She made my brother happy and had 2 gorgeous incredible kids.
i feel like less of a person for having never gotten to meet her personally.
Don’t ever let me see you driving drunk or recklessly like that around me….and dear Mr. Toncz better pray he never gets out of jail.
