Hillsboro, Texas–Debra Jeter and her husband were going through a divorce…caught in the middle of that divorce were the couple’s two daughters, ages 12 and 13. Just last week, Debra was granted permission by the court to see her children over the weekend. She picked the girls up at their fathers house, telling them she had a surprise them. And what a surprise that was. Now one of those little girls is dead and the other is recovering in the hospital.

evening and told dispatchers she had just killed her children. Authorities rushed to the location, an abandoned farmhouse, and found Debra waiting for them. She was standing in the garage, with her hands raised above her head, when the cavalry appeared. InsideInside reviews the farmhouse, they found the body of 12-year-old Kelsey Leanne Jeter dead in a bathroom and her 13-year-old sister critically injured in a bedroom. Both girls had their throats slashed. The 13-year-old has undergone surgery for her wounds and is said to be in critical condition.
Debra Jeter, 32, is on suicide watch at Hill County Law Enforcement Center. She was arraigned on charges of attempted capital murder and murder. Bond has been set at $1.5 million. Quick! Slip the cunt a noose or a rusty blade. Selfish bitch…

I’m so glad to see all these comments. My daughter went to school with Kelsey. This murder was absolutely premeditated. Just the fact that she said she had a surprise for them proves that. She is a complete bitch and knew exactly what she was doing. The kicker is, a month ago, she DID attempt suicide, and yet even after that, she was allowed unsupervised weekend visitation- this was her first weekend with them following that court order. So tragic! What those children must have gone through just makes me sick to my stomach. I look at my daughter’s face and just wonder how any mother could do this. The death penalty is too easy for her. She should have to look at pictures of her daughter every day for the rest of her life as she rots in jail. Our entire town is devastated by this and all we can do is continue to pray for the father and sister who survived. She remembers everything and has been able to tell prosecutors exactly what happened- that poor child will suffer for the rest of her life over this.

I originally thought that someone should bash that stupid bitch in the face till she died but NO…your right she should have to live with what she did and be forced to look at pictures and videos every day of her miserable, selfish, worthless life. I just can’t imagine how someone can do this. During a press conference this afternoon, Hill County Sheriff Jeffrey T. Lyon gave details of how Debra Janelle Jeter picked up her daughters from their father’s home in Hillsboro Friday hours before calling and admitting to eventually killing Kelsey Jeter, 12, and wounding Kiersten Jeter, 13.
Lyon said Debra Jeter and her husband, Lee Jeter had separated, and that he was awarded temporary custody. Lyon said when Debra Jeter picked up the girls for visitation, she told her husband she had a surprise for the girls.
Details are somewhat sketchy, but Debra Jeter reportedly drove the girls from Hillsboro to Corsicana, and on the way back to Hillsboro, she looked for vacant houses.
She reportedly found a sprawling and empty 3,000-square-foot house on a hill at 215 State Highway 77, where she told police she killed her daughters.
Deputies at the scene found Debra Jeter standing outside holding a knife.

Kiersten Jeter remains at Parkland Hospital in Dallas in stable condition, officials said.
Lyon said that Debra Jeter had attempted suicide about three weeks earlier at her house, and she was admitted to Heart of Texas Region MHMR in Waco, where she was treated until recently.

My daughter has gone to school with Kiersten since Kindergarden I always saw Debra at all school functions. I am having trouble explaining this to my daughter since My main thought is “Debra should have tried harder when she attempted to Kill herself” would have saved every one alot of pain. As mentioned earlier the entire town is in shock. We are all praying for Kiersten and Lee to have strenght and know we are here for them. Thanks for letting me vent a bit.

Now, details have arisen that reveal there were warning signs dating back years ago. Just a couple weeks before the fatal attack, the girls’ father told a judge that he was worried about what she might do to the children.

But, the father was worried about his daughters. Two weeks earlier, Jeter had tried to kill herself in front of the girls.
“There was a fire truck and ambulance down there, and they said she had taken some pills,” said Steve Raulston, a neighbor.
According to court documents, she was sent to a mental health hospital temporarily. Her husband asked for custody of the children.
However, it wasn’t the first time there were problems. In 2004, investigators concluded that Jeter physically abused Kiersten, but closed the case after she got mental health help.

I cannot understand how parents can kill (or attempt to) their children. This lady isn’t crazy, she’s a MONSTER. And shame on the judge for allowing her unsupervised visits..did he even read the file?..talk to her doctor?..take her attempted suicide into account? That judge should be held just as accountable as her..if he had used his brains, that little girl would still be alive and her sister wouldn’t have to live with the memories of that hateful day. I, for one, will be following this story continuously…rest in peace, sweet Kelsey.

Capital Indictments Returned In Attacks…Death Penalty A Possibility
A 32-year-old Hillsboro woman charged with killing one daughter and seriously injuring another was officially indicted on capital charges last week.
A Hill County grand jury spent nearly two hours Wednesday morning, August 12, pouring over two large ring binders of evidence in the case against Debra Janelle Jeter.
The end result was capital murder and attempted capital murder indictments on the suspect, according to District Attorney Dan V. Dent.
Hill County 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call from the suspect on the evening of June 5.
She was at an abandoned farm house on Highway 77 just north of Hillsboro.
The caller stated that she had just killed her two daughters, but one of the girls was still alive. She then requested dispatchers to send EMS personnel.
Law-enforcement officials arrived to find 12-year-old Kelsey Leanne Jeter dead, and 13-year-old Kiersten Leigh Jeter suffering from a slash wound to her throat.
She was flown from the scene to a Dallas-area hospital where she underwent emergency surgery for her wounds.
She was released from the hospital the following week in time to attend her sister’s funeral.
The mother had been held on charges of murder and attempted capital murder since being de-tained at the farm house the night of the crimes.
Key to the capital indictments, Dent explained, was the fact that the suspect entered the farm house without permission and then committed the assaults.
Mrs. Jeter has had one official court appearance the last week of June when 66th District Judge F.B. (Bob) McGregor Jr. ordered both a competency and an insanity evaluation to determine her mental state at the time of the crimes.
A lengthy report compiled by Dr. Verl Childers of Itasca was delivered to the district judge Tuesday afternoon, August 11, and was forwarded to the district attor-ney.
Dr. Childers reportedly made three visits to the jail to talk to the suspect before compiling his re-port.
The court-ordered mental evaluation showed Mrs. Jeter is competent to stand trial, according to Dent.
The suspect has been held in the Hill County Law Enforcement Center under suicide watch since her arrest.
Her bonds on the two original charges totaled $1.5 million, which were carried over to the indict-ments, according to Judge McGregor.
Sheriff Jeffrey T. Lyon con-firmed Wednesday afternoon that Mrs. Jeter had made one unsuc-cessful attempt on her life while incarcerated.
The suspect used a strip of cloth torn from a towel to make a noose around her neck Thursday, August 6.
Jail personnel discovered the at-tempt. Hillsboro Fire/Rescue was dispatched, but the suspect wasn’t transported to a medical facility.
She was evaluated by MHMR personnel after the attempt, accord-ing to the sheriff.
The frequency of her checks by jail personnel were stepped up to every five minutes from 15 min-utes, and additional measures have been taken to prevent further at-tempts, the sheriff explained.
Mrs. Jeter is represented by court-appointed attorney Phil Weaver of Whitney. He was in court last week and unavailable for comment about the indictments.
While there had been no official announcement that a capital-murder indictment might be sought in the case, there was a tip during a recent budget workshop conducted by Hill County Commissioners’ Court.
While reviewing the jury-fund line item, County Judge Justin Lewis told court members that a capital trial could be in the county’s future.
Whether to add revenue to the jury fund from reserves to cover the projected costs of such a trial was expected to be considered at a Friday morning, August 14, budget workshop called for commissioners’ court.
Mrs. Jeter could face the death penalty if convicted of capital murder.
I am close to this family and after reading this I believe the world will be a better place when she is dead!
