Zachary King Might Have Anger Issues

Cedar City, Utah–With friends like Zachary King, one doesn’t need enemies. A helmet and adequate medical insurance would be a good thing to have on hand though. In what police are calling a ‘bizarre case,’ Zachary, for whatever reason, flipped the hell out and attacked a couple of his friends, while they slept, with a ‘household tool.’

Zachary had spent the evening hanging out with a couple of friends. Though the evening appeared to have ended normally, Zachary was seething inside. Angered by something, he went to his home, grabbed a weapon, and brought it back to his friend’s home. He walked into a bedroom where a 20-year-old man lay sleeping and proceeded to knock the shit out of him, hitting him in the head, repeatedly, until the guy lost consciousness. He then entered the bedroom of a 23-year-old man and started hitting him in the head too! That guy awoke in the middle of the beating and was able to convince Zachary to knock it the hell off. Can I get a W.T.F.? The mother of the 20-year-old heard the ruckus, woke up, and called 911.
Zachary King, 23, was booked on suspicion of two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of burglary. Authorities are still investigating the reason for his anger, but say that neither drugs nor alcohol played a part in the beatings. There was no report of any earlier arguments or issues between the trio of friends. Police aren’t releasing any details on the weapon. One of the young men was flown to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition and the second was taken to Valley View Medical Center, and was in stable condition.

According to the Salt Lake City Tribune, King used a hammer. Geez… I had my money on toilet plunger.

“He basically stated … he was angry at life and he was going to take it out on those two,” Adams said. The night seemed to end normally, with King returning to his own home. But he allegedly picked up a hammer and returned to the 20-year-old’s home, entered his bedroom and hit him at least four times on the back of his head.
So, he wasn’t drunk, wasn’t stoned…basically just an asshole. Nice.

Trust me, it was not drugs, booze, or anything else. I know it may be hard to believe, but Zach really is a good guy. I don’t know what it was that led him to do such a horrible thing, and I in no way will try to justify his actions, but he really is not a monster. In all the years I have known him, I have never had to worry about having a “helmet and adequate medical insurance.”
I can’t blame those who don’t know him for thinking that way, but I felt compelled to stand on his side at least. It’s only fair.

Yeah, I caught your sarcasm the first time…didn’t need a second dose.
All I am simply doing is defending a friend of mine who fucked up. It’s as simple as that. And no, I don’t “thank my lucky stars” I wasn’t there that night (it was a house, by the way, not an apartment). I wish I was there, and so do a lot of us who know Zach, because there is a good chance the outcome would have been different. Someone could have stepped in to save those two guys from having to go through that hell and could have stopped Zach from making such a horrible choice.
Look, I know it’s the “cool thing” to try and be a callous and oh-so-witty blogger these days. But don’t try to talk about what you don’t know.

I had to go back and read this story again because I didn’t remember it by the title, but anyway as I was re-reading it I just couldn’t believe that he had someone here sticking up for him. He attacked two people and one was in (maybe still in?) critical condition. He did this as they slept. How would if of turned out differently if you were there? You wouldn’t of been able to stop him if you were sleeping! You even said the hell those guys went through, how is that fair to them. Sorry to me a good guy just doesn’t do that….

Um…that’s exactly what Logan did: he stopped Zach before he could do any more damage.
Look, think of it this way. Imagine you had a good friend, someone you have known for nearly ten years, do something just like this. This is a person who you went to junior high and high school with, who you were very close with, who was in your close circle of friends. This is somebody who stood beside you when you screwed up, who was always there for you no matter what. And he wasn’t just there for you, but for all of your friends. After finding out that your good friend tried to kill two people, how would you feel? Angry, sure, but would you say “to hell with him?”
Like I said, I do not condone what Zach did, and I am not trying to justify it. Zach admitted that he did it: he is guilty, as far as I am concerned. But he is still my friend, and I will stand by his side throughout all of this. You’re right, it’s not fair what he did to Logan and Daniel, and I’m not trying to downplay that. But I will not stand aside and tell him to fuck off. What kind of friend would do that?
