Philadelphia, PAIt started with a call to 911…Bonnie Sweeten informed a dispatcher that the SUV she and her daughter were in had been rear-ended by a Cadillac. Following the accident, two black men exited their vehicle, grabbed Sweeten and her daughter, shoved them in the Caddie’s trunk, and sped off…and that’s where she was calling from. An Amber Alert was issued for Sweeten’s 9-year-old daughter, Julia Rakoczy, and the troops were called out to begin the search. Scary shit, huh?

Well, it would be scary…if it weren’t bullshit. From the very beginning, the whole thing just smelled bad. It started with the discovery of Sweeten’s vehicle, which was found just five blocks from where police first traced the frantic phone call. Her SUV had a parking ticket on the windshield that had been stamped at 2:20 p.m., 20 minutes after the first call to 911. Not only that, the vehicle was undamaged. Authorities confirmed that the 911 call was not made from the PhiladelphiaPhiladelphia reviewsPhiladelphia reviews suburb where she lived, but 25 miles away, in Center City. That 20 minutes between the initial 911 call and the time stamp on the ticket would make for an incredibly tight time frame to get from the suburban town to the middle of the city.

More cracks started to appear…it was discovered that Sweeten may have been experiencing some financial issues. In the last week, she has withdrawn about $12,000 from various banks. Sweeten’s former employer, Debbie Carlitz, a personal injury lawyer who runs a charitable fund for autistic research, is missing some cash from that fund, the amount missing is said to be in the six-figure range. Curious. Oh, and did I mention that about an hour after the alleged kidnapping occurred, airport surveillance video shows Sweeten using another woman’s identity to buy a couple of one-way tickets to Florida? One for her, and one for her daughter.

That’s where authorities caught up with her, about 30 hours after the hoax was set into motion. Bonnie Sweeten, 38, was taken into custody at the Grand Floridian Hotel on the grounds of the Walt Disney World Resort. She was booked as a fugitive and is being held without bail in the Orange County Jail in Florida. She will be sent back to Philadelphia to face misdemeanor charges of making false reports, identity theft, and whatever other charges they can throw at her. When Sweeten fled with her daughter, she left behind a husband, a 15-year-old daughter and an 8-month-old daughter. JuliaJulia reviewsJulia reviews has been returned, safe and sound, to her father.

Wow another story of the famous ”runaway bride”. Its a shame that people have to make up stories to get attention. When it happens to someone for real, people now will doubt the story until someone is dead. I think we are numb to any story out there anymore except the evil ones involving kids. However, I said from the beginning, what smart kidnappers leaves the cell phone with his victim?? duh! Those CSI shows really paid off for me this time lol

I think this pisses me off more than anything else she did.  Stealing money from a children’s charity! Stupid greedy bitch.

Now that she is safe, it has a certain laugh factor to it, if you don’t think to hard about the anguish Julia’s father felt, or the valuable police resources that were used to try to ” save” this POS. But uh, at least she was taking her kid to Disney World.

I wonder why she only took her 9 year old daughter and left the other two behind. Don’t people watch America’s Dumb Criminals?

It also looks likes she’s a fan of those chintzy tinted Acuvue lenses that come six-to-a-box for $20.

i’m not sure which bit of this story pisses me off the most, but i think it might be the thoughts i had about what her nine year old daughter must have been thinking the whole time this load of shenanigans was going on with her mother.  this isn’t an infant or toddler that wouldn’t be aware that her mother is a whackadoodle nutjob trying to skip town with her.  i’m sure this poor little girl must have known that her mom had gone off her f-wording head.  poor kid (and her poor older child as well….guess she knows who mommy’s favourite is now….as well as knowing her mother is a nut).

She may have a thyroid disease. No joke it can make you so some crazy things and appear crazy looking.  She may suffer long term hospitalization – mental because of it if my guess is correct

She’s more a thief than a nutso whack job:

Victor Biondino was no tycoon, just smart with money.

He toiled in a Bucks County steel mill, reared four children in a Levittown rancher, and lived frugally on his wife’s pay as a meatwrapper. By saving and investing, he managed to retire with a tidy nest egg.

Biondino was 92 and struggling with dementia when nearly $300,000 of those savings were stolen, relatives say, by a trusted former in-law.

    Her name: Bonnie Sweeten.

Sweeten, 38, of Feasterville, drew national attention May 26 by faking her own abduction and vanishing with her 9-year-old daughter in tow.

After an intense police dragnet and tearful appeals by loved ones on network news shows, the two turned up in a luxe resort at Walt Disney World in Florida.

Sweeten was charged with identity theft and false reports. She is scheduled for trial Thursday on the misdemeanor charges in Bucks County Court.

At the time, police and relatives said they did not know why the paralegal and mother of three had fled.

But Victor Biondino’s loved ones had a strong hunch.

They and police had known for months, they now say, that Sweeten had swiped $280,000 from Biondino’s Vanguard money-market retirement fund in December.

The relatives had demanded the cash back, threatening arrest. After months of excuses, they say, Sweeten wrote them a $285,000 check and bolted the day it bounced.

A white suburban mother who placed a 911 call claiming two black men had carjacked her – but instead flew to Disney World with her child to escape a looming arrest – was sent to prison Thursday for nine to 23 months.

Bonnie Sweeten, 38, pleaded guilty in Bucks County Court to identity theft and filing a false police report, misdemeanors that typically bring probation.

But a judge offended by Sweeten’s performance on a 911 tape said her hoax led to a frantic national search, traumatized her daughter and, perhaps worst of all, tore open society’s racial wounds.

Your wants, your needs, your wishes and desires came before everybody,” Judge Jeffrey L. Finley said.

He called Sweeten, a paralegal and PTA mom, “a calculating, manipulative, hardhearted woman.”

Sweeten could face more time in prison, as federal investigators are pursuing the theft from the grandfather’s 401(k) account. Sweeten also had several credit cards belonging to her former boss, lawyer Debbie Carlitz, with her at Disney World, Henry said.

Carlitz has said her firm’s finances are under review.

After Sweeten was led off in handcuffs Thursday, her father, William Siner, 66, attacked two news cameramen waiting outside the courtroom, shoving one of them into a bench.

Siner, of Milton, Del., had appeared devastated in the courtroom as his daughter admitted her crimes and was ordered to prison. Sheriff’s deputies detained him, but police were investigating and no charges were expected to be filed Thursday night, Henry said.
