Camilla Fields Chucked The Baby

Memphis, Tennessee–I bring to you, today, a story of fail. We have Camilla Fields, 26, and Stacey Cleaves, also 26. The two women hit their local Wal-Mart for a shopping shoplifting spree. With them, they had Cleaves’ two-month old infant…he was their ‘cover.’ Fields, under the guise of changing the baby’s diaper, entered a bathroom and began shoving her five-finger discounts into old, previously used Wal-Mart bags. When confronted, she used the infant as a weapon.

A loss prevention officer smelled a rat in the store and his nose led him directly to Fields. When he confronted her about the merchandise, Fields grabbed the child, who was strapped into a car seat, and flung him at the security guard. The crazy thief picked the car seat, and child, up from the floor and fled the store. A bystander ran through the parking lot after her…she threw the baby at him. This time, the infant landed face down and was rendered unconscious. Luckily, the bystander is also an EMT–he performed sternum rubs until the baby regained consciousness. The child was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition. By that time, Fields had hopped into her car and driven off, leaving behind the baby, and her friend.
When police interviewed the child’s mother, Cleaves, she lied through her teeth! She told the cops the baby-flinger was her sister, the child’s aunt, and gave them a false name. Fields is not related to the child. It was later revealed Cleaves may have known about the commotion in the store and allowed Fields to use the baby as a cover-up to shoplift. I have to wonder…did she do anything at all to prevent Fields from throwing the kid? Not just once, but twice? Camilla Fields eventually turned herself into police the next day. She’sShe reviews
facing charges of child abuse, neglect and assault. Stacey Cleaves is charged with false reporting, for lying about Fields’ identity, and child neglect. Cleaves has already bonded out of jail. Fields is being held on a whoppin’ $2 million bond. The baby boy is said to be doing fine and is in state custody.

I tried this once when I got busted shoplifting a giant jar of pickles at Wal-Mart. But my kid was 12, and I sprained my back. I fell to the floor along with the jar of pickles. My kid walked away while I writhed on the ground in pickle juice and broken glass. It was pretty awesome.

Ugh. 2 months old? Babies can’t even hold their neck up at that age, can they? My niece couldn’t. I was scared to death to craddle that child wrong. Throwing her – even up into the air playfully – was simply not an option. The level of callousness it requires do behave like this floors me.
Wasn’t there some trash compactor around these worthless sacks of hood rat could have hid in?
