Jennifer D’Silva Likes Partying, Not Parenting

Okaloosa County, Florida–Sometimes, a nosy neighbor really comes to the rescue. Jennifer D’Silva’s neighbor heard her baby crying, obviously long enough to become concerned. She went to D’Silva’s home and knocked on the door…no answer. The neighbor recalled seeing D’Silva leave at about 5:30 a.m., and it was now 7:30 a.m. Was it possible she had left her infant alone? Nooo…ya think?

The neighbor called the cops…they, too, were unable to get anyone to answer. The property manager was called in to unlock the door. When deputies entered, and after being slapped in the face with the stench of shit and decay, they found D’Silva’s 7-month-old baby lying strapped in a car seat, in front of the television. She was covered with a sheet that appeared to have bloodstains on it, surrounded by dirty diapers, trash, empty rash ointment bottles and dirty wipes. She also had a very full diaper…the deputy who changed the child’s diaper noticed she had a rash and blisters in her vaginal area, some of which were open. After being transported to the hospital, doctors reported that the baby’s head was misshapen and she has a weak muscular structure, probably from being restrained in a car seat for extended periods of time. Remind you of another story? The baby also had a rash, blisters and a yeast infection caused by urine burns and fecal matter.
The alert neighbor said she had started to watch D’Silva after noticing that the woman left frequently but never had the baby with her. Investigators found D’Silva’s Myspace, which I have not been able to track down yet, and discovered numerous pictures of her hanging out at clubs and parties. It just so happens that some of the dates and comments coincided with times that the neighbor told police she had heard the baby crying, but did not see D’Silva’s car parked outside. Police recognized D’Silva’s “partner” from her MyspaceMySpace
page and found the woman’s address…and that’s where she was arrested. Jennifer D’Silva, 20, is facing charges of child abuse and child neglect.

so Jaded- where did you find the info about the “partner” on myspace? was it another article? I wonder if that’s true– like I see that she refers to this girl as her girlfriend in some pics, but a lot of girls do that.

yeah, from everything all over their pages, I definitely think they are both straight and just friends. (sorry, I’m not nitpicking at you, just the source!

It drives me INSANE how mothers can be all “blah blah blah, this baby is my world!” etc etc, then do shit like this. That’s disgusting. I hope she never gets her poor little baby back EVER. Not only are you leaving your baby alone, but you are leaving your baby alone pretty much surrounded by poop. Great job Jennifer!!!

I like partying more than parenting too. That’s why I use birth control.
Why the fuck would you have a second child when you didn’t want the first one?!? Why not have an abortion? It’s not like she was emotionally attached to the idea of a baby, obviously.

Just an FYI. she didnt leave her alone at 5:30am and not return by 7:30am. She left her at 5:30 PM THE NIGHT BEFORE. It had been FOURTEEN HOURS before the police came in, and the police were there for 4 hours and still no Jennifer. Read the arrest report here.

Twisted story, to some I guess priorities are way off compared to the rest of us. Hopefully she will be punished this time because I doubt she’ll stop. I mean she wants to look good and have boobies, etc., but yet her house is filth and her daughter has to live in it, the scale is tipping in the wrong direction. Ooooh this makes me furious!!! She couldn’t get a babysitter? She is obviously spending a ton of money on boob jobs, highlights and partying at bars — she couldn’t find a decent person to watch her kid if she HAD to go out? I mean obviously she should have just given this poor baby to someone who could take care of her, and I don’t know actually CHANGE her diaper and HOLD HER. How can you leave an INFANT screaming at home alone, scared not knowing why no one is coming to pick her up, cuddle her, and soothe her hunger pains? I’m sure the TV did a GREAT job of entertaining a little baby. People need a license to drive a car, but not raise a child….blows my mind.
It sounds like she has rich parents who pay her way to get out of everything (from the comment posted her from one of the news articles). If thats true, that explains a lot. My husband’s ex-wife is like that — her daddy is a millionaire but she doesn’t pay us any child support for my stepson, who she just dropped off one day and never looked back when he was a baby. She did the same with her older daughter. Stole $40k from her parents, snorted it all up her nose, never did a day in jail. And now she wants custody (HA!) Girls like this, raised to be spoiled without ever thinking they can be held accountable for what they do, think that whatever makes them happy they can justify. I hope this bitch gets a hard dose of reality and does some actual jail time for this and NEVER sees her daughter again.

Well, she probably couldn’t get a babysitter because you know, she comes from money, and they are just the cream of the crop and there IS no one decent left in town – they would all be beneath her, duh!
How could she leave a screaming infant at home alone?….I’m betting the baby was quite happy when she left. It probably didn’t start screaming until it’s favourite show ended. AND, even then does it count? I mean, if a tree falls in the forest and no one’s around, does it make a sound?…..this MUST be the same principle…..right???
