Life With The Snyders Is A Living Hell

Martinsburg, W. Va.–A few months ago, I wrote a story about Jackie Nanney and Jessica Pack–a couple of assholes who shot their children with BB guns as a source of discipline and entertainment. Imagine my surprise when I came across yet another couple who keep the BB gun handy…along with bottle rockets and lit cigarettes.

One child describes the living conditions with the couple as ‘a living hell.’ I think the kid was just being nice. The children in question are an 8-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy and twin 14-year-old boys. In an interview last month, the 8-year-old described being verbally abused, having a cigarette put out on her knee and soap shoved in her mouth. The 12-year-old told investigators that he also received burns from cigarettes, was punched, and forced to run laps, barefoot, in the gravel. One of the 14-year-old boys said that he was beaten until he bled, choked, hit in the back with a lit bottle rocket, shot at with a BB gun, and roused from his sleep in the middle of the night and told go to a neighbor’s house, about a mile away, to ask for beer and cigarettes. The other 14-year-old told authorities the children were forced to massage their mother and step-father in exchange for food. He also stated that his parents would take Christmas gifts that his grandfather had given him and force him to ‘buy them back.’ The pair referred to the children as ‘meal tickets.’ GoodGood reviewsGood reviews gawd.

For depriving the children in their custody of food, shooting them with BBs and bottle rockets, and dishing out other forms of abuse, Nathan Allan Snyder, 25, and Christina Ann Snyder, 40, are each facing four counts of child abuse resulting in injury. Both are being held on $200,000 bond.

    I know the whole family....and have for quite a few years.  It wouldn't suprise me if everything the kids say is true.  I know for a fact (because I was there) that the kids were dropped off at someone's house and left for days while Christine and Nathan did whatever.  The have moved I don't know how many times because neither of them can keep a job.  In my opinion if you have that many kids....keep a damn job; whether it's flippin hamburgers or not.  The whole family is a mess.......

    You’ve mentioned that the bio dad has been trying to get custody after being absent for who knows how long. Why do you think that is, exactly? Perhaps it’s because he thinks he can provide a better environment for them?

    I know the mother and she seens as if she is a loving and caring person. The step-dad has had problems in his life that has affected him still today. All of these kids have some issues and both of the parents need to seek professional help for these children. One of the twins wanted to go live with his bio father. The other two boys did not. The little girl did not know her real father. To her Nate was her daddy. I feel it is in the childrens best inerest for them to be put in foster care until this problem is solved. The Bio father has had problems in the past. However,  I am not one to hold someone past againest them.  I also know that while the Bio father was in jail for 7 years he did promise the mother he would see her in court ever day until he had Nate out of their lives. If you want to know what the Bio father and Step fathers have been in jail for it is public record you can look it up on line. THe Bio father is also on Probation in different state then where he told the courts of Berkley County WV. He is on probation in Leeburg VA  His girl friend is a social worker. And I feel like just maybe she is the one telling him what to do. If this is the case shame on both of you if not I am truly sorry. I  have seen these children over a 3 year time frame and I never saw and makes on these children. I hope that the trust comes out in all of thisand the children are not the ones to pay the price.

    What I think many of you friends and  family members posting on here fail to realize, I (and many other readers) will believe police reports, children and social workers before we will ever believe some people typing in the comments sections.

    And fuck you for calling children liars.  A child is more likely to lie to protect an abusive parent than to hurt a loving one.  And spoiling is what you do for your kids.   Though, I never realized I was spoiling my child by not making her shit in a bucket...

    Well I am glad that you and the bio dad are keeping the kids safe and providing them a stable home.  Nobody is perfect and I'm sure we all have things in the past that we would like to forget, thankfully their father has learned from his mistakes and is trying to do right by his children now when it matters most!

    I tend to believe the bio dad as he admittedly said he had some problems and has learned from them.  The other "supporters" are basically talking junk on the kids and to me that's just wrong.  As I stated before, let's just hope the kids can get all the help and support they need.

    well hello everyone I am the bio father and I have to tell you I have never been charged with any Child abuse.  I have had some issues and I am growing from my past transgressions.  Not only did Nathen Snyder beat aand abuse my younger kids he has a pending warrent for rape against my now 19 year old daughter Ashlee. She was 13 when he raped her. His comments were "it wasnt rape I was 19 and she was 13"

    I suppose if you had any idea of who I am, or of the actual events that took place, you could then make a competent assessment toward the situation.  It's obvious you don't.  I AM FAMILY and I, UNLIKE YOU, know how bio dad grew up and ALL about his past.  No one has blamed his drug issues on his family, do you even know how to read?  The bio father grew up in an abusive situation himself.

    There is NOTHING about the bio father's past that has been forgotten.  Not that anyone owes YOU any explanation.  The bio father HAS NOT had the kids the past few years and again, if you knew more about the situation you wouldn't be passing on FALSE  information.

    What the readers need to know is that the kids are receiving help.  NO ONE is overlooking the bio fathers need to get help himself---as I've stated. 

    The kids are the important factor here, not your need to exploit the situation.  I hope that in your case, ignorance is bliss.  I won't be responding to any more of your moronic comments.

    The bio father grew up in a dysfunctional environment himself;  it was a breeding ground for what was to come.    Bio Dad, went to jail, NOT for child abuse, but for his addiction to prescription drugs and using the identity of others to obtain the medications.   Now, that being said, there is neglect that he has had to face, because of his addictions.  These kids have been through so much. 
    When bio dad was in jail Christina met Nathan and all hell broke lose.  Christina went down hill and Nathan did nothing but booty hop, get drunk, make babies and get arrested.  Not to mention what he did to his 13 year old step daughter that isn’t even in this article.  The bio father has had many problems, but he loves his kids.  He needs help to mature and be some kind of example, but unless he gets help himself and takes the kids to therapy, there will be wounds that will never heal.  The kids haven’t been bribed, they have just got to the point where they were no longer afraid to talk.  Many other family members had no idea of the abuse, as Nathan and Christina never stayed long in one place and couldn’t be located.  Bottom line, they are happier now, they have a home, food and loved ones to help their real father and them.  Now that we know, we are there.

    terrib1974: my thoughts about all this is that sometimes children are bribed and trained to say what one parent wants them to say.   if you dont know the whole story then you should not make a comment.   the real father of these children has been trying to gain costody of these children after not being in there lives for many years.    these children are very easily bribed and would lie in a heart beat……..                  my suggestion to any and everybody………………………………….get your fact before you judge…….

    What your are suggesting is the bio-father put suggestions and "bribes" into these kids. Now, I'm not past a parent doing such a thing to gain custody,  but I have no doubt abuse, neglect and just shameful behavior is real. A kid can't make up all this shit and keep it straight. I bet as interviews go the investigator was keeping real good notes and would have noticed discrepancies in their stories. 

    Certainly kids are capable of lying and being bribed, but don't foget what the motive is and who is motivating such behavior. The adults suck. They always do. These kids were raised and groomed to be what they are they didn't come out of the coot lying for these bastards, they were taught. So don't come here telling shit about the kids when clearly the kids lose...they always do one way or another.

    It won't be long now, these kids will be able to give these abusers the shit right back. Unfortunately, without a lot of good care and support, they will give society back every last thing they experienced too. We all lose, especially the kids. Of course this is ALL assumption, I don't know you from Adam, and for all I know your comments are worth lint.

    Geezus this is like its own little village of the damned with kids treated like personal slaves, being shuffled from different "houses", staying with other "families" weeks at a time, pawns in sadistic torture games with bottle rockets WTF?, and adults too irresponsible to step up and protect a child. 
    Sounds like all the kids in the region need to be relocated to an area with this kind of behavior is not considered OK...
