Durham, North Carolina–‘Gina, I love you so much babe. I’m so lucky to have you. I’m glad you feel the same way. I want to be with you forever. I’d never do anything to hurt u.’ This love note was written by a 10-year-old boy. Sweet, huh? Well, it would’ve been sweet if he had written it to a 10-year-old girl. But, the note was written for an older woman–a much older woman. The object of his affection? A teacher’s assistant at Creekside Elementary School, 40-year-old Gina Marie Watring.

The note never made it to it’s intended reader…another student at the school intercepted the love note and handed it over to school officials. School-boy crush, perhaps? School officials questioned the child, checked out a few text messages on his phone, and called his mom. According to mom, the child was often at Watring’s home, as part of a school club. Sometimes, Watring would bring her son home late, or she would have to call and ask where they were. The boy’s mother told them she grew concerned about her son’s relationship with Watring after discovering the two were communicating via text messages, and asked both of them to end it.
When investigators interviewed the child, he told them that he and Watring had sex, at her home, twice–on April 10th, and again on April 21st. During a search of the teacher’s home, investigators seized cell phones, picture cards, 10 green pills and a note with ‘Gina’ written on it. Watring denies the allegations, saying it was nothing more than infatuation on the boy’s part. The text messages on both the child’s cell and Watrings cell were deemed ’sexual in nature.’ Gina Watring is being held at the Durham County Jail under a $100,000 bond, charged with two counts of first-degree sex offense with a child. Watring handed over her resignation on Tuesday. She already has a few defenders backing her up…after all, she’s a married woman with three children and an active member in her church, she couldn’t possibly be a child molester.

You have got to be fucking kidding me! 10 years old?!?! Is that even possible? How screwed in the head do you have to be to find a 10 year old physically attractive? Emotionally even? She’s got to be a total fucknut.
I don’t understand why the mother thought this relationship was inappropriate but didn’t immediately cut off all contact between the two.

I saw this on the news and when they said elementary school I was just floored. I hope this abuser gets charged accordingly. Good for the other student having a good head and knowing that it was wrong, you did the right thing!

Always be suspcious of school “clubs” at teacher’s homes. It typically means that want to violate your child in the privacy of their own home versus on school property.
And WTF is up with all these female teachers taking in an interest in young boys. I am all for giving these ladies equal treatment…they are no different than male predators.

wow. This is a great reason to not give your 10 year old a cell phone. I feel so bad for this boy, of course, but I can’t help feeling HORRIBLE for her poor children too. Redshoes and Maureen – My 8 year old has a cell phone. It’s a pre-paid AT&T cell phone that he does choeres to buy the minutes for. He barely knows how to use it and certainly doesn’t use it to text message. Plus I check it every night before he goes to bed. If there was ever a phone call from anyone other than Owen, Zach, Josh, fill in male classmates name or his grandparents, I’d be all over that like flies on shit. It really is just for us to talk to him if we are running late or if he wants to go home with a friend afterschool instead of the rec. He has had the damn thing since January and I can count on one hand how many times it’s been used.

I hope it isn’t true. We are devestated. Both my 10 year old girl and 8 year old boy were in her classes. My son said she was his favorite teacher because she told him that she “loved him” and “wanted to marry him” and that he was the “cutest boy in the school”. She was so nice…didn’t think anything of it. If she turned herself in though…makes me think there is some guilt. There are also text messages, and I have pics I pulled of her FB account before it was shut down. Shows multiple pictures of the same boy. Could be her son?? The quicker the details come out the better. My daughter is good friends with her daughter…I can’t imagine what they are going through.

Oh dear God. One of my kids is the same age. I am just speechless. As a parent you worry so much about someone hurting your kids. This woman did more than sexually abuse this boy, she psychologically abused him as well. And HELLO! A teacher telling students she loves them and wants to marry them? Did this not set off warning bells? As a parent, did you not think this was inappropriate? Come on people, use your brain. She gave the kid a backpack and cellphone to stay in touch with him.
In the original case, investigators said Watring gave the boy a cell phone so they could exchange text messages. Now, she’s accused of doing the same thing again.
Assistant District Attorney Jan Paul said Monday that the boy’s parents discovered Watring left handwritten notes and a new cell phone at a stop sign in the boy’s neighborhood so he could find them and they could communicate.
When the boy’s mother discovered the new phone in his backpack, she confronted her son.
