Lackawanna, New York–Every single state in the good ‘ol US of A now has a Safe Haven Law in place. While the specifics vary from state to state, the bottom line is this–if you don’t want your baby, there are options available. In the state of New York, parents may, up until the baby is five days old, ‘anonymously and safely leave their infant in the care of a responsible person at a hospital, police station, fire station or a responsible person at another safe location.’ It is so simple–relinquish your infant and walk away–no harm, no foul. Why do women keep killing their babies?

On April 18, Danielle Payne, 26, was rushed by ambulance to Mercy Hospital for severe bleeding. DoctorsDoctors reviews
discovered that Payne had given birth, very recently, in fact. But, there was no baby. Curious. Detectives interviewed Payne several times over the next week and a half. TimeTime reviews and time again, she denied giving birth, she even denied it to doctors. She denied ever being pregnant in the first place. Her husband and family backed her on that…they had no clue.
After continued questioning, she finally began to break. She admitted to giving birth in her apartment on the 18th, but told officers she flushed the baby down the toilet. When that lie didn’t wash, she finally admitted to putting the nearly full-term 8-pound baby girl into a garbage bag, and stowing her in the trunk of a car parked next door. Callous, Danielle. Real fucking callous. Danielle Payne is now being charged with second-degree murder. Her bail has been set at $100,000.

AND, there are blood tests that can check the range of your hormones within the weeks after the birth–they will show that there was an elevation and a drop…

Not that there is ever an excuse for murdering an infant, obviously, but this isn’t a scared 13 year old girl, this is a fucking 26 year old, grown, married woman! How could killing her baby seem like a reasonable option to her? She must be a total sociopath, in addition to fucking stupid. What a sick, twisted cunt. The only thing I can imagine that would possibly make any sense here is that this baby was conceived after an affair or something. Either way, SAFE FUCKING HAVEN LAWS, YOU MORONIC PIECES OF SHIT! She did not need to think about Safe Haven because she never viewed the baby as a baby. To her, it was just an inconvenient problem that needed solving. Seems “thinking” is not her strong suit… unless it’s about herself.

These stories really make me sick and angry. I have several friends with fertility issues that have been waiting forever to adopt, and then people like this heartless bitch just dump babies in the trash.

I have to wonder if the type of woman who would hide a pregnancy for 9 months is also the type to not give a shit about the baby…the only possible reasons for hiding it and the lying that goes along with that are selfish ones…at one time I thought it might be different with a teenager who does the same, as opposed to a grown woman like Danielle here, but I suspect that a great number of baby dumpers have personality disorders — in the Casey Anthony vein, only quicker and more efficient!
I’d be interested to hear how many times the Safe Haven laws have actually been taken advantage of, compared with how many times women have been charged with killing their babies.

Interesting that the last time she logged on was December 17, 2008 and it says she is getting married in 2 weeks. If this is her, and I think it is, that means she might have been pregnant before she walked down the old aisle.

I just gave birth to my third baby girl the 21st. I was sent home with a box full of information on the first 5 years. There were three books in the box that are full of useful information, basic information, shit everyone should know about. They talk about safe haven laws here in California and they talk about not hitting or shaking a child. The only problem with this “gift set” is that women have to give birth in a hospital to receive it, then once they have it they have to read it for it to be of any use.
Its a sad day when any woman decides this ending for her childs life. Its senseless and incomprehensible. Laws should be tougher on these women. Its not ok to kill a defensless child and they should pay with their life. They should be put to death to show how serious this crime is.

The Safe Haven laws are fantastic, if they actually worked in every state. How many times have you read a news story of police hunting for a mother who “abandoned” their child all according to Safe Haven law which should make her anonymous. I really don’t blame some cases where they simply will not take the risk.
This case however is as disgusting as most of these are and hiding the pregnancy (how do you even do that) usually tells you they were not going to keep the child let alone let it live.

I am am friends with the husband and never met the wife and am shocked that he is backing her. I think that he needs to have a blood test to even see f this baby is his. They just got married in fall of 08 and bought a house. I think that she hid this from him and honestly thought she could get away. I think she did not know she was with child till it was past the stage of abortion. I wish him and his family the best of luck.

i just found this out today…. unfortunatley i knew this girl. i never fuckin liked her, amd now i know why. i agree with butterflies, she never shoulda been allowed to be around kids, more or less all the time. Unfortunatley you cant tell the future. And uvgottabkiddin you’re prolly right…… but the reason why no one knew she was preggo, was because she was always fluxuating in her weight so she went from thinner to heavier, and i guess this sint the first baby she didnt want. I really hope that she does rot in jail, and thinks about that poor baby girl EVERY SECOND of EVERY DAY she’s in there. NASTY BITCH

I suppose you could hide a pregnancy for a few months, with loose clothing and standing behind stuff a lot. . . . but in the last trimester there are some very noticeable changes, that someone close to you, like a husband, just couldn’t miss.

Does anyone have an update on Danielle Payne’s status. Is she rotting in jail? I can’t find any threads online stating if she was convicted or not, or where she is being held. She couldn’t have gotten away with this…right?
