Greenwood, Maine-Being a parent is never easy, especially when your children are young. They require almost constant supervision to make sure they stay out of crap and don’t wander off. Without a sitter, this leaves you with very little time to do the things you enjoy doing. 24-year old Bryan Nason found a way to overcome that predicament and his failure to understand the utter stupidity of his actions is exactly why his story has earned a spot on our front page.

, security at a Sunday River Ski Resort notified police that an employee named Bryan Nason was leaving his 2-year old daughter alone in an office two days in a row. Nason left a note on the office door reading, “There is a child in here sleeping. If you need to come in please be quiet. I am not neglecting her. I come to check on her every 10-15 minutes. I am an employee without a vehicle.” At first one would assume that the young father was having difficulty finding a sitter while he worked, but that’s not the case. The selfish bastard was not working on those days. He was leaving the child unattended while he went snowboarding and out to a bar.
Nason was fired after the report and arrested on April 8, 2009 for endangering the welfare of a child. The police contacted the Department of Health and Human Services, who said they would open a case and forbid Nason to have contact with the girl without supervision. Nason has pleaded not guilty to the child endangerment charges and a judge granted him personal recognizance bail.

ewwwww
how long did he leave her alone? what an asshole. I guess he probably won’t have to be worrying about where to keep her now.

The sad thing is he really thought that was ok. That’s just dangerous you jack off!

The thing that got me is that Nason stated “I am an employee without a vehicle”. Does that mean if he had one he would have left her in his car? In Maine and in February? That would have been a babycicle for sure if he had.
Those are some seriously jacked priorities. If your child comes last on a list that includes going to a bar and snowboarding, you really shouldn’t have kids.

This guy should not get this baby back. He has proven that he is not a fit parent. We don’t need to read months down the line, how the baby died from neglect. ASSHOLE

This is interesting. From July 2007. Bail for what I wonder?
“Bryan Nason, 23, of 139 North Main St., Mechanic Falls, arrested by Maine State Police on a charge of violating bail, 7:37 p.m. Monday on Goodwin Road, Minot.”

If this kid was really just laid down in there while napping and being checked on periodically for when she awoke… I’m not seeing what the issue is precisely. What, he’s supposed to watch her while she sleeps too? The employee without a vehicle note to me says… I’m allowed to be here, I’m hanging out here with her today, and I can’t drive her someplace else to put her down for a nap, so she’s down right here. Sounds like there are assholes at his job. They probably should’ve started by just talking to the boss about the situation.

He wasn’t working on the days that she was left in the office. It’s not really hanging out with her if he is at a bar drinking and out snowboarding. Hey, if you can’t find a babysitter, you don’t go out. Simple.

Is this the same nanny?

And what would a babysitter do while she was napping? Place her in another room, close the door, and check on her periodically, more than likely. <shrug>
