Marvin Clark Was Asking For It

Berkeley County, S. CarolinaCarolina reviews
–Marvin Douglas Clark, 27, was looking for some young stuff, and found a potential victim with the click of a mouse. Clark came across a MyspaceMySpace
that had a cell phone number listed in the profile. The profile, and the cell number, belonged to an 11-year-old girl. Hey kiddos, posting your cell phone number on Myspace? Bad, bad idea.

Marvin Douglas Clark
He sent out a text, and the child, thinking it was a friend texting from a different number, texted back. The texting turned into one-sided sexting…the messages were sexually explicit and contained pictures of his face and his package. Clark requested nude pics from the child. She refused, telling Clark that she was only 11-years-old. Even so, Clark continued to text and call for another three days, trying to convince the girl to meet him. She finally freaked out and told her parents, who called in the police. An investigator stepped into the role as the child, and repeatedly reminded Clark that he was talking to a very young child. Clark was still begging to hook-up, so the investigator obliged and set up a meeting. Clark showed up for the meeting, prepared, with a pocket full of condoms. He was promptly arrested.
This isn’t Clark’s first brush with the law–he was on probation for manslaughter after serving time in prison for murdering his father in 2002. He is now being charged with criminal solicitation of a minor, dissemination of obscene material to a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. His bond was set at $160,000.

How the hell did he get out of prison for murder in the first place I would love to know?????
Geeez I guess it depends where you live as to how much time you receive?????Laws are so different and what now/Do we charge him arrest him book him and then WHEN will they let him out again so he can do this all over????? Because based on story he will serve time and be released once again, I tell you when will they start keeping these ANIMALS Locked up forever and then start executing them because they are a harm to society and obviously to children this one at least????
4:36 am on April 24th, 2009
They got too many of them locked up so they probably let some out due to overcrowding. I think they got to raise them taxes and build some more prisons. I was thinkin’, I’m gonna take me some of these taters home with me.
4:39 am on April 24th, 2009
Manslaughter will get you anywhere from 6 to 25 depending on where you live. Time off for good behavior, overcrowding, stuff like that. Pretty sad actually.
5:01 am on April 24th, 2009
I agree pretty sad that our jails get so overcrowded, DAMN is everyone BAD???
Well thanks for clearing that up for me….. He still is a piece of garbage and he is NO GOOD to anyone, THROW him out like trash, who cares about him, he did not care that he was sexting a 11 year old girl and she could have been a target, victim to him if the little girl was not smart to tell mom and dad and kudos to them for involving the police
good job

Ewww what a pervert bitch ass boy. Thank goodness this child told her parents.

This guy sounds like a real winner!

Somebody needs to talk to that little kiddo about putting that kind of information out there on the net. This could have ended very, very badly.
9:49 am on April 24th, 2009
NO SHIT.
Although my kid isn’t much better. He saves every number he comes across into his cell phone. No lie. He just goes online and enters the numbers for every store we go to or around us. Not for any real practical reason (although it has helped me at times) but rather to prank call. He is such an ass. I have no idea where he gets it from.

No clue, huh? Maybe it’s something in the water….
10:03 am on April 24th, 2009
She did tell her parents, but not until he had texted a few times and sent the nudes. Girl should have been freaked out way before then.

Mike has a sister… a sister that I don’t get along with too well due to a stark difference in values (and intelligence, if you ask me). She has a child, a very pretty 13 year old daughter who I’ve watched grow up since she was 3. For those of you who follow my posts, you may recognize my sister-in-law as the woman who took this very child into a plastic surgeon to get her ears pinned back farther at the ripe old age of 5 because kids in 1st grade were making fun of her. Yep, this is what happens when the number of dollars in your bank account exceed the number of brain cells between your ears.
Well, my sweet (tall, attractive and naive) niece has a MySpace page. She wasn’t initially allowed to have one, but created a page while sleeping over at a friend’s house. During that sleepover, the girls also took some video of them dancing somewhat provocatively and posted it on her profile. Apparently, her parents didn’t do enough to educate her about internet safety, because she later posted “I’m bored, call me: xxx-xxx-xxxx” on her page.
It drives me fuckin’ nuts. The child’s step father, who actually has some sense, devised a plan to “test” the kid by creating a fake profile and seeing how much info they could get out of the girl. The mother and grandmother opposed. Dumbasses.
Luckily, I get to talk to the kid, on occasion. I think I instilled enough fear last time, because we haven’t heard about any retardedness on her part since.
Thank god the little girl in this story had the sense her parents seemed to lack. She’s got an unmonitored MySpace page at 11? Poor form, mom and dad.

He sounds like my child.. she loves to prank call people and most of them laugh with her instead of getting mad.
She has one certain fella that she puts on speaker phone and lets me listen and they talk for 10-15 minutes and he will tell her to call him anytime she gets bored. I know I shouldn’t allow her to do that but I can’t help it. The look on her face when she is trying to talk in a hillbilly voice is funny as shit. He eats it up.

If you ask me, not many people (not people on here) hold up to you with intelligence!
I have read your posts and I know that you are one smart woman.

I am waiting for the day when some pissed off parent sets up his own meeting with one of these animals, and puts them down the way they need to be.
1:44 pm on April 24th, 2009
That, or we could simply release all the non-violent drug offenders clogging the jails. I’m not holding my breath, though.
1:49 pm on April 24th, 2009
I can assure you since I am very close to this family that the child DID NOT have her number on her myspace page. Actually he didnt even know she had a myspace page. He was trying to call his sister and misdialed…getting her cell phone number instead.
1:54 pm on April 24th, 2009
This also is not true…..The 11 year old told her parents from day one (not day 3). She told her parents BEFORE any of the texts were sexual and BEFORE any of the nude photo’s were sent. She actually didnt even know nude photo’s were sent through her phone at all. I know this little girl and I know this family very well.
2:03 pm on April 24th, 2009
If what you’re saying is true iammo, then it sounds like the parents did the right thing and luckily the little girl wasn’t exposed to his ummm “parts”. Thankfully this guy was caught and wasn’t able to hurt her, he is obviously a dangerous guy!

Then you need to take it up with Post and Courier because that is where the information came from.

Too Bad you didn’t post a link to her myspace page-I can just see a bunch of DDer’s calling her asking to speak to mom and dad. Why does your daughter have her number posted on myspace? Believe me I called one of my kids friends when he did the same stupid thing-he promptly removed the number-oh course my kid got ribbed for their parents being on myspace. LOL

The family has already contacted the Post and Courier and they are working on a follow up story/revision at this time.

Here is a much more accurate news article:
http://www.wciv.com/news/stories/0409/615367.html
#1. It was a WRONG NUMBER and NOT THROUGH her myspace page.
#2. I am a friend on her myspace page….along with her mother, father, grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins….she has only 4 friends that are not family and they are friends from school that the parents know. Her myspace page is FAR from UNMONITORED! It is set on the private and her parents know her password!
#3. She gave the phone to her parents when he started asking her age, location, sex, and what she looked like…..which was HOURS before the sexting and nude photo’s began.
#4. The family worked hand in hand with the detectives to catch this guy in less than 48 hours.
4:43 pm on April 24th, 2009
Thank you for the reassuring details, iammo.
Creepy that a wrong number could lead to something like this. I usually never give them a second thought.

Something wrong with that link….
Could you re-link me, please?

Not sure…see if this one works.
5:44 pm on April 24th, 2009
I got it.
I’m glad to hear that she didn’t have it posted on her Myspace…at 11 years, she shouldn’t even be on Myspace….monitored or not. There are other social networking options on the internet for kids that age.
How was this able to continue for three entire days? And, did she communicate with him at all?

SoJaded; Never mind, HeeHee! The time it took to try and edit my post, trying to straighten out the quote feature, you already had it!!
5:58 pm on April 24th, 2009
She replied to one text in which she said she was ll. Other than that all other communication with him was through the parents and the detectives. Also it was not 3 days. From first text to arrest was less than 48 hours.
6:07 pm on April 24th, 2009
Thanks for the information, iammo. At any rate, I’m glad the nasty fuck is behind bars. Hopefully, he’ll stay there.
6:15 pm on April 24th, 2009
I’m curious, iammo – Are you suggesting that he misdialed, the 11 year old answered, they had a typically “Sorry, wrong number,” conversation and then he started texting her? I’m not seeing how we go from wrong number to sexually explicit texts.
But thank you for the info. If your version of events is, in fact, accurate, that changes everything.
If I’m not mistaken, though, an 11 year old having a MySpace page is against their Terms of Service. Of course, if she’s got her own cell phone already…
*Ugh*. I’m 26 and already disconnected with today’s youth. My kids are going to hate me. They won’t be getting cell phones until they can pay for it themselves.
Thanks for that. I didn’t really mean it like that, though. I just think many of the decisions she makes are retarded. I mean, would YOU get your 5 year old plastic surgery because classmates were teasing her? Can you imagine what kind of precedent that sets in a child’s mind? Grrrr… it’s been 7 years and I still get worked up about it.
*deep breaths*
6:29 pm on April 24th, 2009
Athena: No in fact…. since she did not recognize the number she let it go to her voicemail….twice. Her voiemail DID NOT say her name….and he did not leave a message….but instead he text her saying “your voicemail sounded sexy how old are you”…..that is exactly how it started.
6:47 pm on April 24th, 2009
Oh, so, you mean one of those self-recorded, “Hi, you’ve reached xxx-xxxx. Please leave me a message,” types of messages?
And he bothered to ask how old she was in the text? That’s hilarious, considering he obviously didn’t give a shit. Kudos to her, though, for informing her parents immediately.
6:58 pm on April 24th, 2009
The recording only said “Hey…sorry I missed your call! Leave a message or call me back!”….and actually he was told over 4 times that she was only 11….and he didnt care….in fact it probably was part of the appeal for the sicko!
