The Honeymoon Is Over

Elkton, MarylandViktoria Albright, 34, and Michael Schary, 45, tied the knot less than three weeks ago…April 3, to be exact. I’m guessing marital bliss was not in the cards for this couple–Viktoria is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and MichaelMichael reviewsMichael reviews is in critical condition with a bullet wound to the back of his head.

No mug...so look at this silly picture

The newlyweds had been enjoying each other’s company, engaging in casual conversation, when Viktoria left the room. Moments later, Michael felt pain in the back of his head…he thought Viktoria had hit him with something. She did hit him…with a bullet. He staggered out the front door and collapsed. SecondsSeconds reviewsSeconds reviews later, he heard a gunshot. Investigators later found a .38-caliber handgun next to Viktoria’s body, along with two spent shells.

Though investigators say they haven’t heard any accounts of noticeable friction between Michael and Viktoria, they did report that Viktoria had stolen the handgun from a relative’s home earlier that same afternoon. Curious. Personally, I’d take a bullet to the back of the head over wedding vows any day.

Wow.  they made it a whoppin 17 days.  Geeze thats just pathetic. At least she did something right and killed herself .  I guess a divorce was out of the question.

The poor husband was sitting there minding his own Bizz , watchin TV and BOOM!!! shot in the back of the head.

The news is saying, Viktoria had a history of mental illness, but there not saying much more than that at this time.

I knew her well.  I wish I hadn’t.  She was dragged into my life, not by my choice.  She was mental with a touch of evil.  She admitted to someone she was close to that she heard voices that told her to kill people and herself. She left behind 3 children, who she rarely had contact with. She hated me for no good reason, other than being completely delusional.  She has a history of drug and alcohol abuse, lying and violence.  I was her target for a few years.  She’s where she deserves to be.  It was just a matter of time.  No one is shocked or surprised by this.

Ironic – her former spouse’s name is Michael, last name also begins with S, who is also 45, who she also married on 4/3/2002. He’s lucky it wasn’t him.

Just curious – did anyone bother to try to get her help after hearing her say that?  Was she supposed to be taking medication?  Was her new husband aware of her (apparent) Schizoid behavior?

And I disagree about “No one is shocked or surprised by this“.  I think her husband might be …  just a bit.  Otherwise, he never would have either married her, or turned his back to her.

Thanks for sharing tho.  I’m glad her kids weren’t around – because if they had been, this would be a much more tragic story.  I hope the husband heals completely – physically and mentally.  And (if he was unaware of her psychosis)  that he can forgive all those who were aware and said nothing.

Her former spouse tried to get her help but she refused to believe she needed help.  She thought she was perfectly fine.  Her former spouse is an intelligent person and premarriage to her, he saw the red flags but he ignored them.  He thought she would change or he could fix her, I suppose.  I have no doubt the current spouse saw them as well and chose to ignore them.  She was an attractive girl.

I did not know her new husband.  I did not know she was remarried.  Fortunately for me, when her former spouse divorced her, she ceased harassing me.  I don’t know if anyone warned the new spouse or not.  I certainly hope so but I doubt it.

There is so much about her that will never come to light but yes, she was disturbed and she did need help and medications but she refused.

Technically, they are the same thing.

Thanks for the extra info @justalady

I wish crazy people would just kill themselves first. If they’re that powerful to hear voices we can’t, then surely the voices will wake them up and bring them back to life and tell them, ”oh wait… you missed a few.”  This is just messed up.

Sorry FlamingFox, I have to disagree. This woman needed help, not just to take herself out. I really don’t want everyone in the world who experiences auditory hallucinations to just commit suicide en masse, no matter how annoying or harmful some of them are. Even the most pervasive and harmful voices are still voices inside one’s head.

That said, we have no idea if she’d had treatment or even a diagnosis. If she was one of those who suddenly thought she didn’t need her meds or something, then shame on her. Otherwise, back the fuck off of the mentally ill.

That’s what I said. I didn’t say that everyone who is crazy should kill themselves. I meant that the ones that actually plan on killing others, and do so, are the ones I wish did themselves in first.

If we can wish, FF, why not wish that people got the treatment they needed before it’s too late for anyone involved? ;)

I understand what you’re getting at, but my heart bleeds for the mentally ill, even the criminally insane. They’re broken; they’re not intact, and that’s got to be nightmarish in and of itself.

If you’re insinuating I have no compassion for them, you are wrong. I do wish them help, but after they’ve already killed someone, I have more compassion for their innocent victims. ;)

I agree, FlamingFox.  While of course I wish all mentally ill people would get the help they need ( and all evil people become good, sick become well, all children have loving parents, etc., etc. ), I’m pretty sick of hearing about murder / suicide – if you must do it,  please spare your innocent children, spouse, loved ones, hated ones, strangers, whatever, and start with the suicide!

Thanks Justalady for your info and Flaming fox you are on the money.
better safe than sorry. I had a similar incident with my parents friends when I was a kid. He shot himself before he made it to the kids rooms and disregarded what his plans were in the note. His wife was already done in however. So yeah, a little preemptive strike by himself one step back, she would still be alive.

Heh…spent 11-years in purgatory wedded bliss. I’d bite the bullet in a big way before repeating that mistake. :)

I am a proud owner of the magic piece of paper.  Apparently we are immune to it’s evils.   However, I am ever vigilant because everyone knows that a bullet is cheaper than a lawyer…
