, his son made an emotional 911 call and pleaded for help. Michael Updike was trying to rape his teenage daughter.
When officers arrived at the home, they found Updike and his daughter both partially dressed on the back patio. The officers caught Updike in the act of trying to rape the girl and immediately arrested his nasty ass. Michael Updike was charged with attempted second-degree Incest and third-degree Attempted Rape.

one thing I hate about cases like this- when it’s incest, sure, the minor’s name isn’t released, but everybody who knows the family would obviously know who she was. That sucks. I couldn’t imagine not only having to deal with my father trying to rape me, but having to deal with every single person in town knowing about it.

WTF is wrong with people? One more example of shit I just can NOT fathom. If this was the first time, what “snaps” in a father’s head to the point he not only rapes his daughter – but rapes her in front of his son – on the back patio??
I hope both of these kids will be OK eventually. I’m glad the son called LE – if dad was capable of doing all of the above – he most certainly could have killed his son if he tried to intervene physically. Good job, kid.

SHE has absolutely no reason to feel ashamed of what happened, and I hope she is surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones that help her realize that her DAD shouldn have known better- What he did was illegal, nasty, and he will be the one to serve the time. She just has to be supported mentally throughout the charges and the trial. Hopefully, her bro will continue to be there and stand up for her.

I’d introduce you to my exhusband but I do my best to stay as far away from possible from him…any mind or mood altering chemical added to a body has the potential for them to act out in many ways other than the stereotypical ones.

Not sure about the age of the kids but the boy who called was listed as a teen and in tears, I would guess he was some were around 14 or 15 and the sister was younger than him. Any one older would have been beating or stabbing the dad. Thats just my guess.

The brother that called 911 is 18 and the girl was 15. He pulled in and saw his dad and sister on the patio and called 911 which i think it was the right thing to do. Michael was already sick enough to rape his own daughter, if the son got involved who knows what could of happened to him. The mother and father are divorced. He was a very quite neighbor. The little girl did not live with the father but would spend every other weekend with him. The son did live with the father and had no idea about what was going on. I know the family and i am sorry for the terrible things that there going through and there in my prays and i hope you all pray for them too.

It’s sickens me to know this about mike updike,devil in sheeps clothing. I just found out about what had happend when i went to church this past sunday. As a victim of being molested myself as a young child by a family friend and the pain and suffreing you expereince, It’s so devastating to hear this news and what kind of person he portrayed to be. As i had met him briefly at church through friends, he was very close to people i know. He was very involved with his church,was invoved in all kinds of things, such as prayer groups, mens ministry. Although i never met his children or knew the family on a personal leval, i know his daughter to be aound age 13 and his son to be 20. He has been divorced for more than five years,so there is no mother at his house hold.They share costody. It is true that he struggled with booze in the past and it’s no excuse for his actions. Everyone that is close to him are in shock and dont no any more about it than what they have heard on T.V. They feel so betrayed and dont understand how he could do the unthinkable to his daughter,as some told me that their kids did sleep overs at his house and it makes them fear. Pepole have a hard time saying anything, but i just tell them he’s a lying,disgusting peace of crap,who acted like a good father.His daughter has to deal with all this, i feel for her and her brother did the right thing to call police. He most likely feared his father and just called police right away. I have no photos to post,he’s balding,brown hair ,stands over 6-foot,slender build,white, 40 something. He makes me sick.
