Boulder City, Nevada–Charles Richard Rogers seemed like a pretty decent guy. He was a teacher at the only middle school in town, Garrett Junior High, a soccer coach, and a foster parent for two children. He served as a reserve officer for the Boulder City Police Dept. He was well-liked, trusted, and respected in the tight knit-community. Yes, a fine, upstanding citizen. They trusted him enough to allow their young sons to attend sleepovers at his home.

really was. Imagine the shock when they found out what their neighbor had been doing to their little boys…right under their noses.
On March 25, authorities received an anonymous envelope containing three electronic storage devices and a note informing them the devices were found at Rogers’ home. One drive contained several pornographic photos and 10 pornographic videos, which included scenes of men with boys about 7-10 years old. Also on the drive were lesson plans and other school materials with Rogers’ name on them, and family photos with Rogers in them.
In a search of Rogers’ home, police seized videotapes, computers, and a photo album containing more than 50 images depicting child pornography. There are at least three victims, and as many as five, shown in one of the seized tapes. Following the video of a youth soccer game, the tape cuts to several segments of child pornography. The first two segments show Rogers performing oral sex on a male child 6-8 years old and another male child 7-10 years old. Another video, time stamped from 2006, shows three naked boys, no older than 12-years-old, in Rogers’ living room playing with condoms and masturbating. Rogers could be seen in the video mimicking anal sex with one of the boys. In some instances, it appeared as though the boys were asleep or unconscious. Authorities believe the preteens were drugged or drunk. Due to the number of images on Rogers’ computer, BCPD had to borrow extra detectives from neighboring Henderson to process all of the information.
Investigators are uncertain as to the number of Rogers’ victims. They asked parents to come forward if their child had any contact with Rogers. They are also trying to identify the children in the tapes, and are asking parents of boys who have been left alone with Rogers to contact the department and e-mail a detective a photo of their child at the age he would have been alone with him.
When the investigation began, residents doubted the charges. Some even suggested the police had made it all up, just to frame Rogers. Boulder City Police Chief Thomas Finn has spent countless hours assuring the fine folks of Boulder City that Rogers is, indeed, the right man. ‘Believe me, it’s possible, it happened, it’s him,’ Finn said. ‘I’ve watched it. I can’t watch it anymore.’
Charles Richard Rogers, 46, has been charged with 72 child pornography related counts that include possession of child pornography, sexual assault of a minor under 14-years-old, lewdness with a child under 14, and use of a minor in producing pornography. The investigation is continuing and further charges are pending. Considered a flight risk, Rogers’ bail was set at $1.25 million.

My mind is still reeling how many victims…so much innocence lost because of this waste of space. I hope it gets it coming to him in more ways than one.

Could’ve been one of his victims……How sad, no one spoke up before now! I think someone put up a link (in the forums) to an article that stated most of videos of the younger victims, appeared to have been drugged and oblivious to the molestation, which I’m not sure is a good thing or a bad thing! For the victims not to have any recall of it may be good, but, now wondering “Did this happen to me?” can’t be!!

I live in BC, know this piece of shit (my son attends the school he taught at and is involved in youth sports)…. I would NEVER allow my son to spend the night at his (or any other person’s) home. His foster son has spent the night at my home as he was a friend of my son’s. I always thought something was wierd but anytime I would say something to people they would say “oh never, not Rick”. I wasn’t suprised at all when this happened. I felt bad for his foster kid then and even more so now. If I would have had any real clue that he was this sick of a bastard I would have taken care of him myself. The BC community doesn’t want to think this type of thing happens in our great town, but it does. I happens everywhere. I can only hope he gets his just punishment, not only from the courts but from his prison mates as well !!

I dont think you guys understand. Rick was a good guy…Well thats what we thought I mean,this guy did everything in his power to make himself look good, Coached many sports,Worked at the recreation center,Was in the coast guard,Was a boulder city cop, Taking care of foster children with they’re parents in jail. Above all he was a teacher, But he wasnt that teacher everyone hated. He was the teacher everyone wanted to be in his class. I was great freinds,we called ourselves brothers,With his foster child “Ray Anderson” Which he had in ‘04. So I slept over at ricks house. Not in the thought of “Rick’s House” But “Rays house”, Get what im saying. There was no redflags anywhere unless you were overprotective. Im not defening that little cocksucker in any way though, I hate his guts for doing this,I went to the cops and my parents said I was a good freind, They showed me pics “not pornographic pictures” Of kids in the pool,jacuzzi,Which in my mind meant they proly had pornographic pics somewhere of my freinds.
