El Cajon, California–In November 2008, Mauricio Lopez’s son, Max, was taken to a pediatrician for an evaluation. The baby, just shy of 6-months-old, was broken. The infant was suffering 34 broken bones in his tiny little body…some new, some in various stages of healing. Who could do such a thing to a baby? His daddy.

Max had suffered months of abuse at the hands of his father. Every single bone in the infant’s legs was broken, along with some of his ribs. He had broken bones in his arms and back. The child was immediately placed in protective custody and his father, 33-year-old Mauricio Lopez was arrested. And mom? She indicated that Lopez ‘may have caused specific bones to be broken.’ I have to wonder why her mug shot isn’t right there next to his…

Fast forward to last Thursday. Lopez pleaded guilty to a single count of felony child abuse causing great bodily injury. Wait…what? The baby had dozens of broken bones and that adds up to a one single count of child abuse? W.T.F. Lopez didn’t have to wait long for sentencing; the judge immediately sentenced him to seven years in prison. Not nearly enough time…not even close. Lopez has a prior conviction; carjacking in 1995. Asshole also has five children by several different women.

The child is still in foster care and is expected to experience ongoing physical and possible psychological after-effects. Good going, dad. Asshole…

    Every child abuser deserves to be tortured…This is what i’d do….first they need their knees shot off by a 12 gauge shot gun, then douced with gas and lit up for a few minutes while their skin is melted off and finally put out of their misery with a bullet in their heads…that should do it. I probably left some things out so feel free add some torture where needed….

    Mom knew this was going on and didn’t do anything to protect her child and SHE IS NOT FACING CHARGES? What in the hell is going on with this country and our legal system? She is just as guilty as he is…IF NOT WORSE. A mother’s duty is to love, protect and nurture her child. I for one know that if anyone were EVER to lay a single hand on any of my children’s head the police would only be called after the SOB lay dead in my living room.

    I have said it before and will say it again…..there should be laws enacted that protect children from leaving the hospital with “less than trustworthy” people. Some of my friends are nurses in the Mother/Baby unit of several hospitals and I hear them tell stories all the time about how they just know some babies are being sent home to “less than desirable” homes.

    Heal fast baby boy. May our Lord hold you close always and may you never again know the pain of abuse. May you wake each morning to hugs and go to bed each night with kisses. Send him this way….I have much love to give.

    I’m new to the site, having been reading all the various stories and comments and finally decided to add my two cents.

    As parents, it’s our responsiblity, duty, and PRIVILEGE (sp?) to care for our children and give them all the best in this world. They didn’t ask to be born. We’re supposed to protect them and do everything in our power to give them the best life and future possible. NOT TO HARM THEM.

    This is a worthless piece of shit does not deserve to walk the face of this earth, much less to be responsible for the precious innocent lives of children.
    He needs to die a slow and painful death and then relive his worst nightmares over and over and over again in hell for the rest of eternity.

    The losers you will read about on here will amaze you, make you sick, make you cry, make you gag, make you wonder why we shouldn’t issue classes and license to actually birth and raise children. They will make you wonder where the caregivers were actually at when some other douchebag ruined a childs life…

    I hope you don’t have nightmares often, because some of these stories and pictures will do that for you too- whether you are are “seasoned” like some of us, or just think you are thick skinned- There will be THOSE cases you read about that will slide right under that skin and crawl all the way into your psyche…!

    Yes, i most definitely realize how REAL parents are supposed to feel about their children. My lil girl, my angelbabi (hence my handle) is my pride and joy. There isn’t anything in this world i wouldn’t do for her. I was once one of those dumb women in an abusive relationship who allowed a POS man to mistreat me. But when i had my daughter i knew i had to make a major change in my life. My mindset at that time was “you can do whatever you want to me cuz i’m a grown adult and put myself in this situation, but i will be damned before you hurt my child in any way, shape, form, or fashion”. Anyone who doesn’t put their child’s well being before any and all else is not a REAL parent.

    I have read many of the stories on this site and have felt all of those things you mentioned. Even though many of these stories leave me so heartbroken that i almost don’t want to return and read any more, i believe that forewarned is forearmed. And every story i read teaches me a little something about the horrors out there in this world. And being aware of those things and all the horrible possibilities makes me a better and more safety-aware parent.

    Lopes is an asshole and other things iv kn him for years and i kn 1 of his lil boys Danny he is a sweet boy, when i found out what he did i wanted to kill him myself my mom use to stay with him and 1 of his x’s and he treated her like shit and his lil boy, he also treated my mom like shit then i found out when i got my mom out of there that he hit my son when him and my daughter stayed the night with my mom, i tell u he better pray i never see him again he should have goten life for what he did to that lil boy and the mother dont get me started on that bitch,she should be in prison to i just pray she didnt have any more children…
