Urbana, OH–Silas Brewer hasn’t been out of the womb very long. He made it about 12 days before his parents landed him right back in the hospital. Thanks to mom and dad, the 4 pound baby Silas now has a skull fracture, 3 rib fractures, and fractures to both legs. Welcome to the outside, Silas! Lovely world, isn’t it?

. Ryan just lost his job and the couple were arguing about finances. Somehow, the baby ended up in between Ryan and Rena and the game commenced.
Both parents started tugging and pulling on the infant…twisting and turning, back and forth, causing the fractures to his legs and ribs. The argument moved to the baby’s changing room. The shit-for-brains parents were still screaming and fighting as they changed the baby’s diaper. After the offending diaper was removed, the game began again. This time though, little Silas came loose and slammed his tiny head into the side of the changing table.
Ryan Brewer, 19, and Rena Maxhimer, 18, were both arrested and charged with three felony counts of child endangering. As of Wednesday, baby Silas was said to be in good condition. Children services officials are now looking for a good foster home for the child.

i’m sorry what? child endangering?!?!?! WTF?!?! why is it not child abuse??? they broke the bones of this poor little baby.. god… people make me so fucking sick! i’d love to put those parents on a rack and stretch them until their arms fell off so they couldn’t do this ever again.

I agree the charges are way too light for what was done. “Endangerment” denotes something that could have happened. “Abuse” denotes what has happened. 3 fractured ribs, 2 fractured legs and a fractured skull?? All that’s missing is a partridge in a pear tree! Seriously — they BROKE their baby!! Not one brain cell between them!
Please, do NOT return this baby to them – ever! Heal baby Silas. You poor thing. I just want to {gently} snatch him away so I can smother him with hugs and kisses and love! Damn!

This week is circus themed here on the fp of dear ol’ DD.

I’m running short now. I scrolled up to look at this dude’s face and to try to find some sort of animal to compare him to. I was thinking …snake….meh…..wait! Where the fuck are his eyes? Glow worm! He’s a glow worm…maybe a mole…but moles are cute. It’s turned into an 9 degrees of the animal kingdom over here. He’s a llama! er…the lead villain in a disney movie maybe? I’m all fucked up now. Jesus H Christ they need to fix these two teens so they will never be able to have kids again. This is a horrifying story to hear about a 12 day old baby. It just made me cringe to read it. Oh, just the thought of imaging what they were doing pulling and tugging on this little precious infant is terrible. May they never be able to set eyes on him again. May they rot in jail and in hell for what they did.
I am so glad to hear this. I pray that baby Silas will be able to recover from his injuries and if he does be given to a family that will love, nurture and care for him the way he is supposed to be cared for.

This little baby weighed less that a bag of sugar and these two cannot see he is fragile.

Playing at being grown up is not acceptable. Just because you have a child does not in any way make you a “parent”. The title is earned and you two dipshits have failed FAILED..Failed!
You ABUSED this tiny little human. You should be charged with attempted murder, no one could honestly think that yanking and slamming a 4 lb infant would result in anything short of death.

4 lbs???? Was this Sweet Innocent baby a preemie? I wouldn’t think a Pediatrician would allow such a small infant to be released from the hospital, at that weight…..

Are you fucking kidding me? I swear there should be some type of screening for parents before infants can be released into the custody of people. I work in the medical field and one look at some of these parents tells me these children are in danger. The truth is that there are no laws protecting babies and children UNTIL SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS.

It’s hard to even imagine that parents, (even at their age!) could be so juvenile. Being only 18, i cant say i know much, if anything, about raising children, but come on, this is completely a lack of common sense! My best wishes to you, little Silas, and may you find happiness where ever you go.

My son was born 2 months prematurely at a mere 3 pounds, 10 ounces. He finally got released from the hospital when he reached a whopping 4 pounds (and could suckle and maintain his own body temp.) It’s extremely tiny. The preemie clothes were huge on him. This story is sickening.

thats what I thought! 4lbs is tiny. crap, even an 8lb baby is tiny. did no one at the hospital tell them that babies are fragile and to always hold their head?
this makes me very angry. I have two children 7 and 5 and one on the way (8 months preggers) and never once did I think of playing tug o’ war with any of them. I am happy and very proud to say that neither one has broken a bone. Although there has been bloodied lips and scars, they are kids and kids get hurt, but no kid should be fought over like that.
We are poor, doing better than most, but we have money issues since dh just lost his job, but that just means no cheerleading this year and goodbye netflix (that was a sad day in my life), it doesnt mean hurt our kids cause we are having money problems.

Jesus H. Christ this makes me fucking sick. When my daughter was 12 days old my husband and I took turns holding her, rocking her, singing to her; much like any NORMAL parent would.
I’m from OH originally and have to say this fucking law sucks, you can’t tell me that’s all these cunt bag ass clown douches can be charged with.

We, as a society, need to entertain the idea of forced sterilization…and let us start with these two morons…Neither one should ever have or be around another child…and lets hope this childs’ foster parents are half way decent…cause really and truely…I don’t have much faith in foster parents…have heard and read too many horror stories about foster homes…How about adoptive parents…they have to jump through way more difficult hoops than foster parents do…but forced sterilization is a great idea. Too many assholes are breeding like cockroaches…and this is what you get…ryan & rena.
