Zachariah Williams Was Feelin’ Stabby

Zachariah Williams
Palatka, FL–DayQuone Hill, 8, may have been trying to protect his mother Tuesday night when he got into the middle of a fight between her and her boyfriend, 20-year-old Zachariah ‘Gator’ Williams. Zachariah’s anger turned from the mother to her child…he stabbed DayQuone half a dozen times or more with a pair of scissors.
Authorities were called to the College Arms Apartments around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening in reference to a child being stabbed. When officers arrived, they found DayQuone suffering from multiple stab wounds. As EMT’s attended to the child, officers were searching the neighborhood for witnesses and a possible suspect.
After hearing screams, neighbor Chantell Robinson ran over to help. ‘She (the child’s mother) was sitting on the floor with the baby in her arms. There was blood everywhere and he wasn’t comprehending. He wasn’t saying anything,’ says Robinson.
Officer Todd Bryant of the Palatka Police Department was in the parking lot area, assisting in getting the injured boy into an ambulance, when a man ran into him. That man was Zachariah Williams. Bryant asked the guy to move. The man then turned around and slashed Bryant in the face with a pair of scissors. Suffering a stab wound in the cheek, Bryant pulled out his taser and tased the psycho fuck. Other officers then rushed in and wrestled Zachariah to the ground.
Both DayQuone and Officer Bryant were taken to Putnam Community Hospital. Bryant was treated and released. DayQuone Hill died.
The child’s mother was overcome with emotion. Paramedics attempted to give her oxygen before she fainted and was taken away in an ambulance. She was still out of it when she was unloaded from the ambulance on a stretcher at the hospital, where her son had just been taken.
According to Zachariah’s mother, Jacquelyn Allen, he had been taken to Putnam Behavior Healthcare for mental evaluation Monday afternoon. ‘He had lost his mind,’ Allen said. ‘He thought that I was CleopatraCleopatra reviews
and he was Mark Anthony. They told me he had schizophrenia, but they released him after only three hours.’ WitnessesWitnesses reviews
reported seeing Zachariah running around the apartment complex after stabbing DayQuone, yelling, ‘I’m God. I can bring him back to life.’
Zachariah Williams is charged with murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon on a police officer. He has a pretty lengthy criminal record. As a matter of fact, police call him a ‘regular.’ Previous charges include retail theft, burglary and robbery. This case, and the motive behind the stabbing are still under investigation.
Sorry, but had that fucker stabbed me in the cheek with a pair of scissors, after brutally murdering a 8-year-old child, I wouldn’t have been reaching for my taser…

Ya know Palatka is a real small town, all the towns in that area are. I used to live near there and dated a boy from there many years ago. The people are real down to earth nice people for the most part. Most are poor and not overly educated, but lack of education does not make a person stupid.
But wow have they ever made the news lately. Last year the idiots that killed the man with no hands and little Haliegh missing just recently. Now this.
I feel so bad for the good people living there. I see them all being judged harshly by others that have no understanding of the culture that exists in the deep south.
All I can say is drugs must be running rampant for so much bad to be happening in such a small area.

OMG!!!! This has tugged at my heart today. This baby was defending his momma, it’s heartbreaking. I just can’t stop the flow of tears, picturing what has been described in this story.

Me neither ecvmanzo….this is just so sad. There are some days when I just really shouldn’t be reading these things. They always affect me, but sometimes it’s harder for me to process these senseless tragedies.

BLZbub, yes, I know what you mean. What makes this story all the more heart breaking is that I have sons and I can see my boys doing the exact same thing to protect me.
This poor woman made a bad choice in picking her man. I can’t imagine the guilt she will be consumed with for the rest of her life. regardless of the fact that she picked this looser, she shouldn’t be burying her baby.

Sounds like he was on dust or something. I don’t think he is crazy at all, but I am sure he will use it as an excuse. He deserves to rot in HELL.
1:03 pm on March 11th, 2009
So, – they take him to hospital; but he is released within three hours and then goes on to murder his girlfriend’s son the following day. Sounds like they should have kept him a little longer………
RIP, DayQuone. You were brave, and the world is the poorer without you.

No words…
Fucking horrible soul – Straight to the 9th ring of hell for you-Satan is waiting!

RIP DayQuone.. It’s sad when a child has to try to protect mommy..
I wouldn’t have been reaching for my taser…
For real, this calls for a bullet between the eyes

The policeman could not have shot this disgusting specimen and gotten away with it, when he had a taser. He was only armed with a pair of scissors.

If Jacquelyn’s account is accurate, DayQuone’s death was preventable on so many levels. He should’ve never been on the streets, let alone in a residence with a child.
2:18 pm on March 11th, 2009
In my state, officers are allowed to go “Up One Level” in response to a direct threat. Short form…they could have shot him with no worries of disciplinary problems.
2:57 pm on March 11th, 2009
This is even response, no deferent than being attacked with a knife, and the cop had already been assaulted not just threatened, cop could have, should have shot his ass
2:59 pm on March 11th, 2009
Indeed, RunecirE, especially considering the assault on the officer. The man posed a serious enough threat to justify shooting.
Abroad – are you actually… abroad? I can’t say I’ve ever noticed you mention your location specifically.

WORD!
after I was done reading I was going to say that. Great minds think a like.
3:03 pm on March 11th, 2009
Reading, UK *curtsies*
I agree that might explain my immediate reaction to the question of what a policeman can do in self-defence.
3:16 pm on March 11th, 2009
Oh, of course. Now that you mention it, I believe you list it on your forum profile, do you not?
I simply noticed that your posts in regard to law or even legal theory occasionally exhibit a difference in perspective just pronounced enough to suggest you’re from the UK.
3:23 pm on March 11th, 2009
I’ve noticed you spell “jail” as “gaol”. Usually a UK or formerly colonial locale spelling.
I’m a big fan(understatement) of Agatha Christie.

My youngest is 7… pulls at my heartstrings. Rest in Peace Sweet Baby and Williams you are a self made son of a bitch! The end
3:35 pm on March 11th, 2009
Just to keep it interesting, I should say that the UK is abroad to me, too
And I think I had an overdose of AC one summer in my teens, – haven’t been able to read her since; but enjoy the televised mysteries based on her characters.

LOL. I have the entire Poirot with Suchet, and most of the Marple, from A & E.
Even my 13yo likes watching. Bonus. They are my Calgon when the kids are driving me ’round the bend. Still have a lot of the books, but Marple and Poirot will always be my favorites.

EXACTLY!!

In the Tri-State area of NY, NJ and PA, his ass would have been “smoked” for doing less.
Oh My Goodness. May this child rest in peace and may the mother find the power, strength and love to get through this. This is a heartbreaker-but when will we women learn?

Guarentee he went around yelling the God shit loud enough for people to hear him so he could claim the insanity defense. I’m not a churchgoer but I love how people devote their lives to the “goodness” of God, and then they commit a murder and claim God told them to do it. This is one thing that will NEVER make sense to me. Not to mention, I doubt this guy has attended a service in quite some time.

Which means: he will plead insane and get away with it.
What a worthless waste of a life.

Might keep him out of GP prison, but we can always hope he spends the rest of his life in a padded room.
9:17 am on March 12th, 2009
Oh, in Egypt, he’d be dead! In fact, before the cops could even arrive, no doubt about it, someone would take him out if he attacked a woman and child… all they would find is a corpse. Even if they didn’t kill him then, he would get a hanging; there are no “plea bargains” on the Death Penalty. The murder rate is low here… no second, third or fourth chances like back home in the States. I’m all for the Death Penalty; I speak from experience that it makes a whole world of difference in society.

If that person had already lunged at the officer and he/she was in fear for thier life, They have the right and the authority to use deadly force. This occurred after they KNEW that he was armed and on the loose with scissors.
Most defensive tactics training I have had indicates that in less than 2 seconds an offender can successfully attack you from across a 25 foot room. Even though this was “only scissors” haven’t we just learned that they are a deadly weapon? For heavens sake, a baseball bat can be considered a deadly weapon, if placed in the wrong hands.
How long did that officer have to judge which use of force to use?
He was also protecting himself and everyone in his immediate care from this lunatic.
At this point they don’t really know that the offender is mentally unstable- or just whigged out on dope.
NOW, would you convict the officer of improper use of deadly force had he not chose the taser?

My sentiment exactly!
