Update: 4/04/09-Nearly one month after he daughter was brutally beaten and murdered, Danielle McCleary, 23, was charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child and aggravated child neglect. More at end of article.

Tampa, FL–Kenneth Lopez, 21, is a fucking douche. He recently invented yet another way to sadistically and brutally quiet a crying child…for good. When his girlfriend’s 2-year-old daughter, Gabrielle Randel, wouldn’t shut up and go to sleep, Lopez threw a blanket party in the child’s honor.
Lopez was caring for Gabrielle and her 3-year-old brother SaturdaySaturday reviews
evening. Gabrielle was fussing a bit and wouldn’t go to sleep. Instead of just letting the child fuss, or plopping her in front of the TV until she tired, Lopez wrapped the toddler in a towel, wound a sheet around her face and body, and proceeded to beat the shit out of her. She quit crying…and at some point that night, she quit breathing.
Gabrielle’s mother, Danielle McCleary, returned to the motel where the four of them were living, at around 5:00 a.m. SundaySunday reviews morning. She found her child unconscious and unresponsive. After 911 was called, Gabrielle was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital suffering blunt trauma to the forehead, multiple bruises, abrasions, and a visible hand mark on her body. Emergency personnel were able to stabilize the child’s condition; unfortunately, that wasn’t enough. Little Gabrielle died at 1:00 Sunday afternoon.
Kenneth Lopez admitted that he beat the child. He was arrested and initially charged with aggravated child abuse. Additional charges are pending the M.E.’s review. He is being held without bond. I hope this puny little bitch gets his ass handed to him on a plate in prison. DickDick reviews

Update 4/04/09–You don’t know how happy I am to be able to add Danielle’s mug shot to this story, especially after discovering that Danielle was in the room the entire time Lopez was beating the shit out of Gabrielle. Yes, she watched as Lopez bound and beat her child, and she did nothing about it. She failed Gabrielle in a big way.
McCleary and her lawyer are surprised at the severity of charges against her. Her lawyer has this to say, ‘The state’s theory under the circumstances is that she failed to protect her daughter from the act of her boyfriend. I think certainly no one can really have an idea of what a situation is like until they sit in somebody’s shoes.’ He also stated that Danielle is going to cooperate with authorities ‘to try to get the guy who belongs in prison for this in prison – that being Mr. Lopez.’ Danielle is ‘heart-broken’ over the death of her daughter and the charges against her are ‘difficult for her to handle.’ She has been released from Orient Road Jail on $15,000 bail. Fuck her…bitch can rot right next to Kenneth as far as I’m concerned.
And Kenneth Lopez remains in jail, without bond, on charges of first-degree murder.

I recall back in the USMC, about 20 of us gave a fat body who was screwing up too much, a blanket party with soap bars in a sock. He cried and cried for about an hour and a half afterward from the pain. But he was 6′4″, and must have weighed about 280 lbs! WTF!!! we were never trained to perform this on babies! Surely this maggot will get a a clipped nail finger in the anus when he goes to prison! I think that this guy will be beat, raped, tortured and humiliated, BUBBA will be unbound to unleash his lustful desires upon Kenny, the peak of his spasms will tear open Kenny’s rectum in the process. How come no matter what happens, someone finds a way to make it the mother’s fault? In some stories, we find out that the mother knew the man was abusive or that she was out partying, and then we nail her.

nadine, nadine, nadine. I guess you would probably think I am a horrible mother due to the fact that I have left my daughter with my husband numerous times since she was born. I was 18 and he was 18 when she was born. He has watched her since birth when ever i needed to do something. He is now 21, going on 22, and has yet to lay a hand on our beautiful 3 year old. So sorry that these so called men can’t man up and be one when the situation is called for, but I have a man that does. I have a man that can handle the crying and the whining of a 3 year old. Too bad that you read these stories and trust no young father to care for their child correctly.
And really, we don’t know how they had the whole job situation working. She could’ve been working the night shift, and him the day shift so they could save money on childcare so that they may move into an apartment. Think before you spew nonsense. I was 19 when I had my first child and I have never felt the need to throw them in a blanket and beat them and neither has my hubby! who is in the military and is familar with them. My hubby and I have never laid a hand on either one of our boys and they are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 with another on the way!! I have to agree with Nadine. The mother MAY have had a legitimate reason for being out at that time AND she may be a really great mom who was duped by this scumbag. However, odds aren’t in favor of that being the case.
Too many women are having children (in this case a 3-year old and 2-year old!), they are ill-prepared to care for. It’s not just a question of youth, there are plenty of young parents who do a tremendous job.
However, experience does trump youth so you have to be more vigilant to make sure you’re making the right decisions. We all do stupid things, we just seem to do more of them when we’re younger.

Strippers make damn good money; I had a friend who bought a new house with her earnings. No, the mother was a hard-working (obviously lonely) provider having a hard time raising her kids by herself. Her desperation and vulnerability to survive obviously limited her choices in life; she likely lived a great deal on hope and good luck til her ship comes in… play the cards dealt you and hope for the best.
