The Johnsons Are Shitty People

Alyssia Johnson & Curtis Durham
Chandler, TX- There’s far too many innocent and defenseless people being mistreated in this world every day by low-life scum-sucking assholes. We see quite a few of the victims and their perpetrators here on the Dreamin’Demon. The two young adults pictured above claim they were set-up by Alyssia’s parents and are not the ones to blame. What do you think?
It all started when Deputy Fire Marshal Danny Wilson responded on a call he received due to a report of illegal dumping at the Johnson residence. He went to the home, took pictures and ran Johnson’s name. He found out the Chandler police were looking for the owner, Roy Johnson, who was wanted on felony theft charges. Sounds like the police were not looking too hard.
On March 4, 2009, Chandler Assistant Police Chief James Lehman and Deputy Fire Marshal Danny Wilson went to the Johnson home to serve a felony warrant on Roy Johnson. When they arrived, Johnson’s 18-year old daughter, Alyssia Johnson, said he was not home.
The officers could smell a strong odor coming from inside the house when Alyssia opened the front door. They asked to search the home and began to make their way through the house. The officers said they had to watch where they were walking because there were holes in the floor everywhere and there were even holes in the ceiling with stuff hanging down. They said despite the home’s dilapidated conditions, there were nice computers and a nice television inside.
As the officers reached the end of the hall, they noticed a bedroom door closed with a latch on the outside. The latch was to lock someone or something in. When they asked Alyssia what was in there, she told them it was just her retarded uncle and they might not want to go inside.
The officers opened the door and found a 42-year-old man wearing a sweater and an adult diaper sitting on a bare twin bed. His long hair was matted and his beard was shaggy and long. He was covered in feces as was the entire room. The man could only make grunting noises and when he stood, the diaper hung down to his knees. The man was very thin and appeared to be suffering from malnutrition.
When the man realized the door was unlocked, he ran to the kitchen and was so hungry he tried to eat frozen bacon and a TV dinner through the box. Officers said there is no way of knowing how long he had been locked in that room or how long he would have stayed in there if they hadn’t showed up. Allysia Johnson said they kept her uncle confined so he wouldn’t steal their food.
The man was identified as Kerry Cotton. He is a brother to Lea Johnson, who is Allysia’s step-mother. Alyssia’s father, Roy Johnson, and her step-mother were not found in the home at the time and police issued warrants for both of their arrests. It is believed they had prior knowledge that the police were coming and fled leaving their daughter in charge.
Kerry Cotton was treated at East Texas Medical Center in Athens for emaciation and dehydration and is now in the custody of Adult Services. Alyssia Johnson was arrested on site for injury to a mentally ill person, along with her 19-year-old boyfriend, Curtis Durham, who lives next door. Durham was charged of failure to report a felony. Alyssia Johnson remains in the Henderson County Jail with a bond set at $100,000. Durham was released Thursday on a $25,000 bond.
Alyssia’s father Roy Johnson and her stepmother Lea Johnson were arrested by Tyler police at a Tyler fast food restaurant FridayFriday reviews
afternoon. They were arrested on charges of injury to the disabled which is a first-degree felony that carries a prison term of five to 99 years.
I agree that there should be two more mugshots up there, but, unfortunately, I was unable to find them. Durham and his mother have spoken out to the news about this. They said they have made previous complaints to the police and APS, which neither were confirmed, and nothing was done. I have witnessed a lot in life to believe in the old adage that the squeaky wheel gets the grease, except at supermarkets, of course. So, why didn’t anyone think of calling 911? I mean, come on! Even the McNugget Queen did it! Were these two fearful of getting blamed or did they really just not care?
Thanks to Special2bme who has this in the forums.

Jesus fucking christ!! How can anyone treat another human being like that?
2:02 am on March 9th, 2009
How much was the state of Texas paying them, for Kerry Cotton to be in the care (or not in this case) of the sister?
And Dayum, Alyssia, how would you like to be treated this way? What if today, you were struck by some object out of the sky, and couldn’t function except in the capacity of a 2 year old? Where’s your compassion? Making an anonymous phone call, probably would’ve only resulted in Cotton being institutionalized, where he would be fed and changed daily, taught to give himself a bath, you know simple things, but in a controlled setting with professional people! But, then again, Dear Ol’ dad and Step-mom would lose that monthly check, huh? Double Dayum, Alyssia, you could’ve just told a friend to make that phone call……Ugh, not Durham, apparently!!!

Oh yeah! Two stories of men in diapers, today, one kind of funny (I mean an Elmo diaper at that) and one…… not so much! Who googled “men in diapers”?

How truly incredibly sad….

I hope all these people are treated this way when they can no longer take care of themselves. I’m sure the mother of the uncle and the step mother never had any intention of her son being in this situation.
common sense tells you to feed people and to treat them with respect. Whether mentall ill or not, every person deserves to be treated with dignity

Somebody needs to buy them hair products.

Well, I think these kids are young, and both the home AND the responsibility for the disabled man belong to the parents. So I think they’re the ones deserving of the FULL weight of the law.
If the visiting boyfriend and his family really had called police and family services about this, then I can’t see prosecuting him. These two, while legally of age, are KIDS, and if the grownups in their lives are telling them how it’s going to be, many kids don’t have the skills/world experience to contradict that. If he and his mom at least placed concerned phone calls, then kudos to them. But I don’t think he’s criminally liable.

that girl has no bottom lip and it kind of freaks me out.

I agree completely with you Ruby. Read the description of the living conditions of that house. The daughter Alyssa was raised in that environment and God knows what all she has been subjected too. How much intelligence and rational thinking ability can she possess? She may be 18 yr. old legally, but I can most certainly assure you she’s not 18 mentally.

That’s a good fucking question SJ. But I sure hope she gets treated much worse where she is going.
Her ears freak me out one flat and one monkey ear.

I can live a million years and never be able to understand what causes a person to loose their humanity. How can anyone deprive another human being of food and water? I just can’t understand that. This world continues to flush itself down the damn toilet.

my mother-in-law cares for a mentally disabled man (he is high functioning and even holds down a job). He is the sweetest man I have ever met. These people wear their hearts on their sleeves and eager to please!!!! How could anyone do this to another person? This world gets worse by the day.
Perhaps a little biblical justice would serve well as punishment for these four loons!!! EYE FOR AN EYE!!!!!! Let’s see how long they could last in the same conditions.
Oh and as for the money from the state…..my mother-in-law receives approximately 500 each month to be spent on his medications, transportation, food and clothing. Virginia requires receipts be turned in to vouch for where the money has been spent. So the money is not great but I am sure since he seems very low functioning that he also gets SSI benefits. Perhaps this adds to the monies coming in each month. They had TVs and other nice things so no doubt poor man was not seeing any of this money.

this story and the story of the killer dad kicking to death the labordoodle both made me tear up today. It wasn’t the kids or babies or pedos that got to me, but this abuse to the helpless… (and of course, don’t attack me, I know that children and babies are mostly helpless too) but this, just wow… I am speechless and just sad. Were they waiting for him to die? He tried to eat the frozen dinner through the box!
This just breaks my heart. How can we live in a world where this happens and someone thinks it is okay?
5:31 pm on March 9th, 2009
Exactly!
I agree its the parents that are the ones to blame. They obviously didnt give proper care and housing to the man, although he was supposed to be in their care. With that, I am thinking they didnt teach their daughter much about the mentally ill less than locking them up and ignoring them.

I believe the kids bear some responsibilty; they’re old enough to know better. However, the parents should be held resposible for the greater majority. They obviously held a lot of power in this house and I would not be surprised if the daughter used the “They said they would throw me out if I talked” defense. Kids, especially when the conditions have existed for a while, can easily grow to accept as normal what we would consider harsh or uncivilized.
For example, I have had foster kids who buried food to make sure they would eat the next day, either in the ground or under the mattress. Yeah, no kidding, huh? Others have been amazed that having three meals a day and not one is normal. Their eyes bug out when I tell them to go for seconds because I don’t want leftovers. It’s sad, really. After enough time has gone by, they mellow out, but the first month is a real culture shock for them.

Yes, this is was stated as well by one of the arresting officers. Unfortunately, she was the adult in charge of his care at the time, so she was arrested. There’s more to this in the forums. I could not put it all in w/o making it a two-page story, so that’s why I wrote what I could and kept my commentary to a minimum. I decided to focus more on the abuse of Kerry. I wanted his story told.

Great write-up Fox. Thought you penned it nicely.

Thank you RunecirE. You can’t imagine how difficult it was for me to write it and keep myself contained at the same time. You guys would of got another shit-stew reading if I had the room to include it.

You know.. when I first looked at her it looked like she was biting her bottom lip, then after the above comment, I re checked and now I am freaked out!!! seriously… Don’t start me on the ears.

i dont understand how they could charge the boyfriend. over and over again i read that it’s not illegal to ignore (or give aid) in the commision of a crime.
not that i agree with that at all!! it’s just i’m always seeing that it’s not illegal to look the other way, so i’m wondering/asking about this with the b/f who didnt live there and was not a care giver or responsible for the uncle. even though, morally he should have made some calls to get this guy help!!
i do think the daughter is a product of her pathetic environment and sadly had grown used to the poor uncle being locked up in the room. i hold the two adutls responsible for this unforgivable abuse.

Laziness is the root of all nasty.

LOL.. Bet she can hear a mile away.. Shame on me but I couldn’t help it.
9:44 pm on March 10th, 2009
I was thinking the same thing…especially if he wasn’t even there and they went next door and got him.
I wonder what the felony warrant was for?
12:04 pm on March 15th, 2009
I think they need to be introduced to soap and water. And shampoo.
I hope uncle is in safe custody now, clean and fed.

[...] Ashley Johnson, 20, was having one of those episodes. But unlike most, she was rewarded for her efforts – greatly – with a healthy baby boy. Wait. Did I say healthy? We should probably say he WAS healthy. Newborns with severed carotid arteries, multiple stab wounds and skull fractures don’t tend to stay healthy for long. [...]
