HOW VERY SAD OF A STORY FOR A MONDAY MORNING
YOU KNOW THAT IS WHAT I MEAN OF OUR SYSTEM, HE WAS ARRESTED ON CHARGES THAT SHOULD HAVE LANDED HIM NEVER TO SEE DAYLIGHT AGAIN, BUT THE JUDGES ISSUED HIM BAIL OR WHATEVER AND NOW HE DID IT AGAIN, BUT MURDER THIS TIME,I AM SURE AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT FAMILY FIRST OFF I AM TERRIBLY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS, SO SAD AND MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY MAYBE THEY SHOULD SUE THE SYSTEM, IFTHIS GUY IS THE ONE THAT TOOK THEIR DAUGHTER AND MURDERED HER, SUE THE HELL OF THE SYSTEM AND I KNOW IT WONT’ BRING BACK YOUR DAUGHTER BUT MAYBE THE SYSTEM WILL WAKE UP AND NOT ALLOW THESE FUTURE HAZARDS OUT OF JAIL IN THE FIRST PLACE, REST IN PEACE Esme, and to her family again my prayers and thoughts are with you

When I read in the forum here and saw who they arrested and his past, I wanted to cry. I hope the jury that acquitted him on the previous charges looks deeply and is confident in their verdict.

Kirkland went from being a person of interest to being charged in connection with the death of Esme. No stranger to law enforcement, Kirkland had an open warrant for his arrest for threatening a woman with steak knives on March 5. In 2007, Kirkland was found guilty of putting a knife to the throat of an 18-month-old child…that same year, he was accused of exposing himself and soliciting sex from a 13-year-old girl. He was convicted of the latter charge in March of 2008 and was jailed until October 2008. Kirkland was considered a Level I sex offender. Since 2005, he has been charged but acquitted of public indecency, inducing panic, endangering children, rape and aggravated burglary. Nice to know this guy was allowed to walk freely…..

May there be justice for atleast this family. And my advice to them is if our screwed up government doesnt come through for you…. then go seek justice yourselves! Unfortunatly thats how we have to do things these days. Make him pay for the pain and suffering he has caused you. I know that nothing will bring your little girl… but you can help make sure that he doesnt EVER harm another again.

Mostly because the American public as a whole does nothing but bitch about things like this rather than taking the time to actively lobby for stiffer penalties and banding together to out the leaders who support otherwise. This problem wont take care of itself, so waiting on everyone else to fix it for you is an exercise in futility.
Sad to say that for the most part, people only get involved when it happens to them.

Unfortunatly though with the fast paced and shitty society we live in thats really easier said than done. Weve got to work to pay our bills and with kids at home…. I know you know what I mean. I think americans as a whole need to wake up and elect politicians who arent complete and udder idiots. Ones who really believe in justice and instill punishment. Laws are faaaarrr too lenient and something needs to be done about it. And I agree with you 100%, most people wont get involved until its their child or sister or brother who is harmed. You would think that just reading about it and seing it on the news EVERY day would be enough….

The weather is getting warmer and we have a lot of these wooded areas in my neighborhood. I love walking my Cane Corso through them to see what I can flush out. I can’t even begin to imagine the agony her family is going through. Poor little girl. I hope that waste of oxygen is punished to the fullest extent of the law…who am I kidding, I hope some other inmate does our job for us and makes him squeal like a pig before slashing his throat with a shiv. Rest in peace, Esme. Fry in hell, asshole.
I run in the early morning and my usual route is 2 miles away from where they found her body – this has shaken my sense of security, to say the least.

We don’t have any room in our revolving door jails, we need to start shooting multiple offenders on sight, and start frying DP inmates instead of spending money on appeals for 20 years. It’s time to make room and save money

She should never have been in any danger on her run, and it is terribly, terribly sad that she will not be making music any longer. I cannot imagine the hell her parents and older siblings are going through.

You must be kidding. A Level I sex Offender was walking outside when he should of been kept in jail? I’d rather have my dollars at work to keep this man in jail than to let him out to do what he just did. Because of this systems failure, he happened to kill an innocent child. Investigators believe Kirkland may be a serial killer…
Police found Kirkland in the same woods, holding Kenney’s iPod.
The similarity between this case and the murder from 1987 has police looking at Kirkland as a suspect now in two unsolved murder cases from 2006.
Fourteen-year-old Casanya Crawford, whose burned body was found in May of 2006, and then weeks later, another burned female.
The body of Mary Jo Newton was also found in Avondale, not far from Kirkland’s ex-girlfriend’s house.
Those two gruesome murder cases have haunted officers.
They remained unsolved for more than two years, but now they may have finally found their man. Unfortunately, not before another life was taken.
City councilman Chris Monzel is using this case to renew his call to shut down a sex offender treatment center in Over-the-Rhine.

I’ve been talkin this up in the forum this is really close to me, The details are very hard for me to think about. Esme was very mature for just turing 13 in January – A useless human monster took her life her future and changed her family and friends life forever.
Well I am so Happy that someone “official” is doing something about the half way house. where ever there is one closed another one opens tho I am afraid. – If nothing else the center has learned a great lesson. Someone the facility the county whoever runs the facility should have malpractice insurance just like doctors do. there is no amount of money that can make this all better but it should help with some closure. Unbelieve this man was free to walk the streets, way to goooooo probation officer. There should be round the clock coverage. 3 days my butt… this system should be working 24/7 and then some! —— Once again the SYSTEM FAILED OUR CITY / CITIZENS Why…….. can’t the politicans do their jobs they get paid to study the system. I would love to march and make a difference but I am with the Normal / huge majority who feels that its somewhat a waste of time we can not change the world or the laws. It basically takes someones life A BRUTUAL KILLING to shock the people who matter to change the system – and STILL IT IS A VERY SLOW PROCESS. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!!!

Authorities have so much evidence of what they say are crimes committed by accused serial killer Anthony Kirkland that they aren’t going to charge him with as many as 10 other crimes for fear it will hurt their chances of winning the death penalty against him.
“It would just be too much to put in one case,” assistant Hamilton County prosecutor Mark Piepmeier said Monday.
Piepmeier also noted he won’t present evidence at the trial of Kirkland’s conviction in a 1987 killing where the female victim’s body was burned.
Anthony Kirkland is accused of killing four women over four years (clockwise from top left):
• Kimya Rolison. Her remains were found June 13, 2008, after she is believed to have been killed Dec. 22, 2006. She and Kennedy were inside a van and arguing when Kirkland is accused of stabbing her in the neck with a knife, killing her and then burning her body.
• Esme Kenney. She was killed March 7, 2009, as she jogged around the Winton Road reservoir. Kirkland is accused of trying have sex with her, choking her to death and burning her body.
• Mary Jo Newton. Her body was found June 15, 2006. Kirkland is accused of choking her to death in a car and burning her body.
• Casonya Crawford. Her body was found May 9, 2006. Kirkland is accused of trying to engage in sexual contact with her, killing her and burning her body.
