Matthew, 22, and his girlfriend, Amber Roberts, 21, were living at the Mansfield Holiday Inn with her child, 11-month-old Destiny. The proverbial shit hit the fan when Matthew cracked open a beer…
According to Matthew, he opened a beer and Amber took issue with that. The two started arguing. One beer turned into two or three beers. In the midst of all the ruckus, Destiny awoke and started crying…poor little thing was teething. Matthew, already pissed off at his girlfriend, was further displeased.
He slapped the baby upside the head a couple of times. Amber screamed at him to stop and pushed him away from the baby. In retaliation, Matthew hit Amber from behind, knocking her to her knees. He then grabbed little Destiny by the neck, carried her out of the room, and left her alone by a set of stairs.
Amber ran to the baby, picked her up, and returned to the room. Matthew wasn’t done with his tirade, he grabbed the baby, pinned her to the floor, and choked her until she turned blue. Amber says she screamed at Matthew to stop, scooped the child up from the floor, and ran from the room. She then says that Matthew caught up with her, hit her on the head, and caused her to lose consciousness.
Amber says she came to with the baby crying on the floor next to her. ‘Now you have something to tell the fucking cops,’ said Matthew. Amber sought refuge with the hotel manager and 911 was called.
Matthew Werner now faces a shitload of charges; attempted murder, assault and battery on a child causing substantial injury, and domestic assault and battery on Amber. Police said Matthew, who has addresses in three states, gave a number of different Social Security numbers after he was arrested. Destiny and Amber were both treated at a local hospital and released. Destiny, who suffered substantial bruising, was placed in the care of DSS.
Amber told authorities that Matthew had been abusive to her and the baby in the past. It has also been revealed that Amber had a son removed from her custody and placed with DSS prior to this incident. She has a private Myspace, but you can find the cached version here.

For all you who think you know what your talking about by posting your comments to this article I’ve got news for you. Just about everything that is here is a lie. He was never abusive before, we weren’t fighting over him drinking beer, he only had two, the baby never got smacked in the head, she got smacked on the bottom, i did try and get her from him and he pushed me away and ran out of the room with her. I ran after him and found him comming back through an exit door without my baby and i ran out the door to see her sitting by the wall at the top os the stairs. I grabbed her and yes I went back to the room to get things for her like you know more diapers and her bottle. Stuff she needed. He cae up behind me in the room and reached around me and grabbed her by the throat with both his hands and knocked me to my knees on the floor. I was screaming at him to let go of her and he wasnt listening so i screamed louder well when i screamed louder he let go. I picked her back up and ran out of the room i made it almost completely down the hall when he came up behind me and put me in a choke hold like youd see in wreslting with my baby still in my arms. Yes I did black out a little but I came back to by hearing my baby screaming in my ear next to me. As I was comming to I heard him say now you have something to tell the fucking cops. He then let go of me and i got up and ran to the lobby and had the receptionist call 911. Both me and my daughter were checked out at the hospital. They did catscans on my daughters head and neck. Everything came back ok. She is fine. Yes the state did take temporary custody of her until I can get situated into a place. I have a restraining order on Mr. Werner. He is not allowed anywhere near me or my daughter. As far as my other child goes he did NOT get taken from me by the state of NH. He is very happily living with his father. Which is a decision me and hes dad agreed apon. I still get to see him and speak with him whenever I want. So you can take my word for it being the mother of this child and one of the victims or you can believe the bullshit that the media and the news are saying.

Matthew is an extremely kind young man. Realistically none of you know him . Or you would be asking what the heck went wrong. Every one that knows him and amber have stepped out to help. And only wished they would have helped before these terrible accusations were made.
All mature people that know him and her want to help. None of us know what actually happened this terrible day. I feel that we should all put our heads together and try to help these young families that may be struggling in life. instead of trying to destroy our own children. I look at what some of you People have written and i am truly ashamed of you too. And may god help you .
If i were to have the chance i would try to help. This is what we are suppose to do. With regard to all the unsubstantiated news reporting do you people sleep well at night? If something isn’t juicy enough you add 90 percent lies. 10 % truth 90% lies doesn’t this surprise even yourself ? SHAME ON YOU TOO!!! My Dad always said A man or girl is only as good as his or her word.
And also only believe half of what you see. And nothing that you hear or read. I believe that Matthew will do what ever it take to make this bad situation. A positive learning experience for us all !!! Mathew loves us all even if we talk crap about him. He truly has been blessed by god. And I assure that he will not be trying to dig up all of your hidden skeletons. He would only try to help you . Matthew truly loves this world and all of it creatures.
And no one in this world knows him better than me .I am his Dad . The One He Still calls Every Night to say Goodnight And I Love You. He is a really blessed kid that probably could have use a small amount of help. But would not want to inconvenience anyone enough to ask for the extra help.

I’m sorry Dad, I know you love him, but I have *never* heard a definition of “nice” or “kind” that included throttling your 11-month old baby or knocking her mom to her knees and putting her in a choke hold whilst holding their child. Never. He may call you every night to tell you he loves you, and I’m sure that’s wonderful for you. But that does not make him a nice man. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Listen, it is okay to love your son and even support him, however you also have an obligation to acknowledge his wrongs and call it for what it is. Your son was abusive to an innocent child and that child’s mother.
If a man had put his hands around your granddaughter or put your own daughter in a choke hold, would you be understanding?
There is no reason or excuse for what your son has done. And if you think what he has done is okay, than you are just as wrong as he and I will be forced to make the assumption that he has been enabled for his violent temper by his own father (mom too?)
Your son did a terrible thing. Your son hurt an innocent child. I pray you do continue to love him and heck, don’t forget to pray for him too….. because if he has people making excuses for his behavior and doesn’t get help for his violent ways….. he will end up killing someone (thank GOD he still has the ‘opportunity’ to get himself right).
The job of a parent is not only to love, but teach. I am sure you didn’t teach him to do such things, so how about teaching him not to? I am sure he and you have both heard the saying, “never hit a woman”…. and common sense and a good gentle and loving heart would never allow one to hurt an innocent baby.
Just a couple of thoughts…. call it what it is, Dad…. He was VERY WRONG in what he did….don’t sugar coat it or try to excuse it or create a defense for it. There is NO JUSTIFICATION.

Good thing I don’t give a flying fuck about being politically correct. I really don’t care whether there are exceptions to the rule. I stand by my statement that I have seen more criminal acts and/or suicides, etc. by fans of this band than ANY OTHER performer/band/etc out there. well since ive had to live with matthew and his shitbag father till 2 weeks ago ill give yall some info.he infact did do what he is charged with.during one of his many late night phone calls he admitted to choking amber and choking and throwing the baby.his exact words “ya i choked out amber and the baby then threw the baby on the floor”.a couple days before he got thrown out of the house he kicked his 5 year old brother with his work boots on.
the woman his father is dateing has known me since i was 13 and im 31 now.i was living with them since january.the father is a woman beater as well.he has choked this lady many times.2 weeks agao she threw him and his son out.the father came to just talk but instead was looking for a fight.he was pushing her from room to room trying to throw everybodies stuff outside cuz matthews stuff was placed outside neatly along with his fathers precious safe.he got the woman in a corner of the kitchen and grabbed her wrist and started to twist her arm.i got up to help her.he seen me coming and dropped her and came after me.he ripped my shirt off and got me on the kitchen floor.he then proceeded to stomp on my head and face with his workboot.i have a broken nose,banged up face,bruised hip and torn muscle in my arm as a result.the woman got an emergency restraining order on him.we went to court monday morning for it and i got a 1 year order and she asked for 2 months and allowed phone contact with him.now she wants him back cuz he has money so i got thrown out with my 9 year old son.my son is with his mother and im sleeping in my truck cuz of this shitbag.but thats ok cuz i am sueing him for the injuries and told DCF about the phone call and that i am willing to go to court against matthew if needed.
and all that “dad”wrote about the little maggot is a lie as im sure most of you figured out.matthew is a worthless piece of shit that has no respect for anything or anybody.dad was also accused and convicted of sexually and physically abusing matthew.he made the kid walk home behind his truck with no shoes for doing something stupid.dad has also abused his 5 year old son.he slapped the kid so fucking hard that he had a huge red handprint on his face for weeks cuz he wouldnt stop crying.they are both mentaly fucked and if a psychiatric evaluation was done on both of them they would probably both be sitting in a mental hospital.but hopefully when i get done they will be cell mates with bubba.matthew is going to prison.and other inmates dont take kindly to baby beaters
