Palm Bay, FL–Parents, let’s imagine for a minute. You’re new in town and you are befriended by an adult male. As you are getting to know the guy, he casually mentions that he is available for child care services if such a need were to arise. Would you feel comfortable leaving your child in the care of a non-related adult male?

The scared child kept the secret…Kelly didn’t. He bragged to a friend that he was raping the child. The friend alerted the girl’s mother, who was able to get the full story from the child.

I am surprised that the cops had the poor girl return to his house. Ugh at everything. Poor girl

Noel Kelly did just that. He befriended a family new to the states from Jamaica. He offered to provide child care for the family’s 12-year-old daughter. He raped her…repeatedly…over the course of a year.
Why could the mom not see the signs? Would she not be different? Withdrawn, angry?
I hope he is raped daily in prison sick mother fucker and why in the hell would a mother let a man she doesn’t know watch her kids? stupid!!

Police recorded a conversation between 34-year-old Kelly and his victim at his home. When the child confronted him about the sexual abuse, Kelly never asked, ‘What are you talking about?’ Instead, he told the child to blame the sexual assault on her brother. (I don’t have the full details of the investigation into the rape, but I have to wonder why on earth they allowed that child back into Kelly’s home).
What does the brother have to do with this?

I don’t think I would let anybody male or female watch my child if I didn’t know them, especially if I was in a foreign country.
And if the fellow looked like this, I would say “Sure, you can babysit the business end of my 40cal, you sick fuck.”

When I first saw this on the news, I actually said aloud to the TV, “well who the hell would let THAT guy babysit?!” Something about his eyes really makes me skin crawl.

Imagine moving to a new country and knowing no one. Then realizing that the cost of childcare can run more than an average person can pay, especially if you are a single parent. You make friends with neighbors, and one offers to babysit. This can take a load off of you both mentally and financially. So, you take them up on it. Then this awful thing happens. You would be devastated!
I feel for the mom because I was a single mom making less than $25,000 per year, and my daycare costs ran about $850.00 per month. I had to live in poverty to make sure my son was in a good place while I worked, but it just about killed me. I don’t know that I would have trusted THIS man, but I may have trusted someone else to watch my son if I had gotten to know my neighbors. It’s truly scary, isn’t it?

HELL NO, I would never have a man take care of my 12 yr. old daughter especially one with beady eyes like that. However, I was babysitting at the age of 12 or 13 myself.

You are exactly right. Some people may be so desperate to make a living to feed their family that they will take the chance. I’m not blaming the poor mom here at all. Nobody would knowingly feed their child to a wolf dressed in asshole clothing.

I feel sorry for the entire family. They got sucked into a bad situation by someone sick and twisted enough to take advantage of them. The healing is going to take a long time, but I hope they get the help they need.

When Kelly was arrested Tuesday morning, officers found condoms and lubricant in his pockets, corroborating some of the things police said the victim told them.
Had the courtesy to use condoms! What do you think about that? AND use and CARRY lube. Fucker.

Agree totally! I have a 15 yr old goddaughter and 12, 6 & 3 yr old nieces. If ANY male came forward and was offering to babysit them, spend alone time w/ them, persistent and too charming, I would question that and their intentions. Not to say NO men can be trusted w/ little girls, I am not THAT “jaded”. Parents should just use good judgement when leaving their kids w/ adults, someone you were raised w/ or grew up w/. A family member? Then again we here on DD know all too well child molesters come in all sexes, sizes, races, backgrounds, etc. It’s such a tough subject…
I hope for peace for the victim, peace and relief. Happiness too one day

Parents irk me. I am a single mom. So I know all to well how hard it is to find reliable day care. And I know daycare bills add serious strain to an already streteched budget. I know you have to cut corners to make ends meet. But of all the areas to slack off in, adequate care for your child is NOT one of them!
It’s selfish and dangerous.

If the girl was behaving differently, it was probably just put down to her puberty starting……
Well done of the girl to get him on tape! It must have taken so much courage, and it will make such a big difference when they go to court. I hope she recovers her self-esteem. Helping to put him away should hopefully go some way towards that.

I imagine anything she sensed from her daughter wasn’t because she thought she was being preyed upon, but perhaps because she was in a new country, going through moody phases..etc. Typical pre-teen things. Holy crap, if only she knew.

no, I couldn’t. If a grown man that I barely knew offered to watch my PRETEEN DAUGHTER…. hell no. and look at that guy!!! he looks terrifying. 12? She should have been fine alone (at least BETTER… obviously). I babysat at that age.
Sorry, normal 34 year old men do not want to just hang out with 12 year old girls for no reason.
