Wilbert McCullough Shocked his Kids

Wilbert McCullough, Jr.

Wilbert McCullough, Jr.

Sanford, FL - If you have children, you know how much fun  it can be to think up new games to play together.  It keeps their imaginations fired up, and brings the whole family closer.   Wilbert McCullough might just win Creative Dad of the Year award for the game he likes to play.  Here’s how to do it at home:  spread some garbage bags on the floor, have your kids kneel,  get a shotgun and place a round into its chamber, point it at each child’s head, and ask which one you should shoot first!   Hijinx ensue!

Wilbert McCullough, Jr., 38, actually did this with his kids, but they didn’t love him for it.  Turns out, he kind of scared his 13-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy a bit.  Can you imagine?? In fact, he scared them sufficiently that they ran away late last year, and reported that their father beat them repeatedly, using a belt, PVC pipe and a wooden paddle.  He put on boxing gloves and punched the boy in the head and chest.  And he punished the girl by binding her hands and ankles, putting a sock in her mouth, and shocking her with a taser.  Yes, a taser.

I think what upsets me most about this story is that these kids are 13- and 14-years-old, and told police this has been going on for years.  I cannot imagine the pain and horror of their daily lives, and I’m so sorry it took this long to come to light.   Though if you ever GoogleGoogleGoogle your father’s name, kids, I’d like to say, “GoodGood reviewsGood reviews job running away and getting help!!”

The bad news is that although McCullough faced a maximum possible sentence of 360 years for 12 felony counts (six of them alleging torture or malicious punishment), he was only sentenced to 20 years, after pleading no contest prior to the start of his trial.

The good news is that the childrens’ mother, Loreana McCullough, 37, has also been charged with 3 counts of child neglect for failing to protect her children from the ongoing abuse.

I think ths man is my father. I dont know for a fact yet I have to talk to my mother. But to think he was doing these craze things to his children it just might have been a good thing he left me when I four. Im young (17) but Love my kids to death and couldnt do them like that. If he is my father he going to have to fade me about a bother and sister i never (knew because of him).
  • Rastaban
That's so unthinkable. Those poor kids. I don't know how anyone could ever recover from that kind of childhood.
  • OmyGawd
There is no excuse for defending that man. NONE!
It sounds to me like you, Jr., may have Stockholm Syndrome. Look it up.
Dad did drugs? No excuse for torturing the kids. Electocuting them? Putting a loaded gun to their heads and pulling the trigger? Um at least he put down garbage bags so it was easier to clean up? Is that how you see it? Help me understand what a great Dad he was. Please.

Jr your Dad was a bad man and a bad father. End of story. I AM sorry that he is dead because your siblings will never get to have your father apologize to them for the hell he made them live each and every day of their lives. Hopefully one day you will mature and realize the long term damage that your father did to your "bra and sis". They need therapy and I hope they get it otherwise history is doomed to repeat itself.

Mmmmmmm….yea my name look alot lik his cuz thts my dad. shocking dnt u think….n yea my friend bria is rite who eva rote this is a FUCKIN idiot….its not funn n we dnt take it lightly as this articale makes it seem n my dad wasnt a MONSTER he had problems jus as all of u do…n im sure there are sum things in your life tht me n my fam could rite about…. oo yea me n my lil bra n sister live with our mom n we are happy as hell… n we wished we could have our dad hear bt be normal bt shyt happens.. nto eva rote about GOOD FOR MY DAD BEIN DEAD U LUCKY THEY DNT PUT UR ADRESS IN THIS WEB SITE I LOVE MY DAD THE SAME U LUVE URS even with is down falls n yes my dad died yeterday thanx….hope i hear from yall lata….hola at ya boi

I am the one who said good riddance. Sorry that I offended you but I can't sit here and say that I feel remorse for it. I realize that he was your dad but the things he did to your siblings were horrifying and senseless.
  • RunecirE
    Let us hope NOT.
  • bahaley4e
And personally, call me a bitch, see if I care... I think we should be concerned about what he classifies as "normal". Afterall, he could be a father someday and will he treat his children the same way his Dad treated him??? Will re read his name in DD in 10 years?
  • RunecirE
And that's it...he's the oldest child. The story does not even put him on location at the time ( that I could tell) So he did not suffer as they did. We cannot expect him to fully understand what they went through.

But, as you, bahaley4e, say, they will need him to be strong and guide them and love them better than the dad did. He has to grow up quick.
  • bahaley4e
Thanks, I just think he is taking this way to lightly. He seems to be convincing himself that this was done to him and his siblings out of love and done to teach some sort of valuable lesson.I really hope he is able to come to grip the reality and severity of the situation, otherwise I fear he will try and pass such a lesson on to his own kids or someone elses.

I agree... and if not for his own well being then for his siblings. As the oldest child he has a moral obligation to care for his younger kin. Making excuses for his father is childish. We have tried to tell him that love is NOT what his father has shown him... and he just wont accept that! Someday, I pray that he understands.
  • Well said, McQuest.

  • honestly, what will you remember first and foremost in ten years when thinking of your father.

we have been showed love in our life in various ways
  • RunecirE
n we have been showed love n our life n various was n there is 3 of us…im he oldest then my lil bra n lil sis…

Then I hope you will be able to show them love, 'cause their going to need you.
Be strong in love, and teach them the same. Bad things happen, but that should not mean we get to be BAD too. My thoughts and prayers for your family.

THANXS BUT IN LIFE PAIN IS WHAT MKE U STRONGER..I THINK MY DAD FOR WHAT HE DID THERE IS NOTHING IN THE WORLD THAT CAN SURPRISE ME…IM 18 AND RDY FOR ALL…N DNT BE SRRY WE ARE NOT!!!….NO PAIN GAIN…..LEARNED THT FROM MY DAD

Understand that when we speak poorly about criminals, its because we have sympathy for the victims, and you were a victim. NO ONE, escpecially a child, should have to endure what you went through. My concern is about how you will treat your kids when the time comes. Will you do the same to them as was done to you? I sincerely hope not.
A child no matter how old should be able to feel safe and loved in their own home. Especially since the rest of the world is such a wicked place. If you lived in my home, you would never have to fear for your own safety, or for that of your sister.
Let us hope that what you "gain from your pain" is a respect for life and love for your family and children.

Just know that you didn't deserve that and just because you are "stronger" doesn't excuse what he did. Please don't carry that to the next generation, if you have kids along the way show them love, not fear.
  • lamexcore
Not sure if this guys is honestly your dad but if so, i'm not sure how you could defend the things he did to your siblings. I'm also not sure how you can defend your mother for watching this stuff happen to your siblings. It's completely sad.

You would think that the fact that this happened to your best friend, that you'd understand the pain "dat" your best friend went through. Apparently, you do not care for your best friend's feelings. Damn, I'd hate to have you as my best friend.

    Spell check. Invest in one.

  • RunecirE
Man this world is going to the shitters. That is it, for Mother’s Day I am asking for a taser. Not for my kids, but to shock these worthless shit for brains “parents”.

Wouldn't you rather hook 'em up to a car battery and walk away. Take longer and be more excruciating.

OK, OK, OK...we get it. :D

Maybe all the nuts do roll down hill.

I am very anti-Taser (for many reasons, don't get me started) but in this instance, I wonder what he might have used in the alternative. Something more lethal? And kids at this age - wow, I wonder hwo they'll turn out 10-20 years down the road. Without intensive therapy - I hate to say it - but I see the cycle repeating itself.
