Deerfield Beach, FL–Sabrina Garcia, 6, holding her cut wrist, told authorities, ‘I was sleeping with my mom and then she cut me with a knife, but I know she didn’t mean to do it.’ Her mother, 40-year-old Silvia Garcia, in a fit of resentment and jealousy, slashed her child’s wrist and thigh in an attempt to kill the child before taking her own life. Silvia’s murder-suicide attempt failed and now she is being charged with attempted murder.
Ivin Garcia returned home from work in the early morning hours of February 9th, and found his daughter Sabrina lying in her bed, covered in blood. She had been slashed on the wrist and at the right femoral artery, located in her inner thigh. Silvia was found in another room, incoherent, with self-inflicted cuts to her wrist, groin, and neck area. Deputies found a blood-stained kitchen knife in the bathroom of the master bedroom where Silvia was found.
The Garcia’s were experiencing trouble in their marriage. The two had been discussing divorce. Silvia had threatened suicide in the past, but Ivin still planned to carry out the divorce and move on. Ivin had a new girlfriend and wanted to start a new life with her, so he moved out. Ivin returned to the home, 10 days prior to the incident, for the sake of his daughter. Things weren’t working out…he told Silvia that he planned to move out again. That was the trigger. Silvia, selfish cunt that she is, told investigators she tried to kill her child because ‘she didn’t want the girl to come into contact with her husband’s new girlfriend’. Thankfully, she failed.
Silvia Garcia, who has no previous record for child abuse, is now being charged with attempted murder and aggravated child abuse. Sabrina is said to be recovering from her injuries.
