Tai-Ling Gigliotti Is STRICT

Tai-Ling Gigliotti

Spring Hill, Fla - On Monday, the 16-year-old adopted son of Tai-Ling Gigliotti (wife of internationally known classical musician Anthony Gigliotti) knocked on a neighbor’s door asking for help. He had cuts and bruises all over his body and explained that his step-mother had forced him to strip nude, wrapped his hands in packing tape and then proceeded to beat the shit out of him with a 3-foot block of wood and a metal-tipped water hose. She then locked him in the bathroom from which he had just escaped. When police arrived, the story just got worse.

The boy told officials that the abuse began with him being removed from his room and being forced to sleep in the hallway. 15-months ago, this was changed to being locked in the bathroom at night and when Tai-Ling went to work at the Gigliotti Music shop she owns and operates. Tai-Ling would also turn off the power in the bathroom, leaving him in darkness. He also revealed he had not slept in a bed in 3 years and that food was also withheld from him routinely as part of his punishment.

He had managed to escape from the bathroom on other occasions before this one, but instead of telling neighbors, he would go inside a Mercedes in the garage and listen to classical music. Tai-Ling later found out he was getting out and covered the window with plywood from the outside. The reason why he did not go to neighbors on these occasions was because Tai-Ling threatened that if he told, he would be deported. He also stated that the family’s Taiwanese culture required absolute submission to elders.

But on this particular beating, she really did a number on him. She broke his right forearm and he had cuts and bruises on nearly every part of his body. The sheriff said the lacerations on the boy’s buttocks were so bad that “there was no way this young man could even sit down.” Medical workers also found scars from previous beatings.

When investigators arrived to the home and began searching, they found the blood-stained pieces of wood and the water hose, as well as the locks on the bathroom door and the plywood over the bathroom window. As investigators worked inside the home, Tai-Ling was overheard telling someone on a cell phone that “he must have gotten out of the room,” the affidavit stated.

Tai-Ling Gigliotti turned herself into the Hernando County Jail on Tuesday.  She was charged with aggravated child abuse and false imprisonment and being released on a $15,000 Bond. Police are also looking at 45-year-old Angelo Anton, a real estate agent and owner of 1-Stop Clarinet & Sax Shop in Spring Hill. He lives in the home and I am guessing police don’t think he could have resided there without seeing some of what was happening.

Gigliotti adopted the teen from her sister, who lives in Taiwan. She brought him to the United States when he was 4, and moved to Spring Hill after her husband died in 2001. Neighbors do not report anything amiss with the family, telling reporters that Tai-Ling was always pleasant and they frequently saw the boy outside, usually shadowed by Tai-Ling. Neighbor Murray Guttman said the boy appeared very obedient, “almost to the point of being trained.” State Department of Children and Families spokeswoman Carrie Hoeppner said the teen is in temporary foster care.

Oh, check out the pad:

This makes me want to cry.... People come to this country in hopes of a better life, and that poor boy was tortured by a woman who used his own country's rules against him! She should be tortured daily and left to sleep on concrete naked for the rest of her life!

$15,000.00 BAIL??!!?? Which usually means she gets out of jail for $1,500.00??? That's a travesty and a crying shame. I wonder if this boy was sold as a servant to this woman? Human trafficking? Could be, don't you think?
  • MadeaBecBec
How sad, so very cruel..... Why would you adopt a child, just to torture & abuse them? I pray for the 16 year old to be healed completely!
Obviously, he didn't attend school, right? Someone surely would've reported the abuse before now.... I wonder if, after Mr. Gigliotti passed away, that the b*^%h started the abuse?!!!!
I'm gonna go pray for him! And, All the abused children! God, Please make it stop! Amen

    16. Poor kid. He should be allowed to smack this bitch.

Is this her nephew? I wish I could have a few minutes alone with her. I would treat her the same way she did this boy!! Stupid bitch
  • Updated story with new neighbor quote and a pic of the house.

Boy, this sure does sound like the cases i've heard about in the news of human trafficking. Children are bought or "adopted", and brought to the USA and trained to be servants from the time they arrive. They are usually treated poorly and often out right abused. I wonder if she's really his aunt? Poor kid, I hope he gets good medical attention, all the food he can eat, and a real bed in which to sleep. The (b)witch probably is already out of jail and trying to sue someone for interfering with her "family business".

Shades of that couple in California case of Lau and Schumacher http://www.dreamindemon.com/2008/12/03/kelly-la...
    Eerily similar.

WTF is wrong with people? How could this bitch think, for one minute she was doing the "right" thing?

I pray this boy recovers completely and can be happy the rest of his life. She can rot on a cold bathroom floor for all I care - with no food and no light. Oh, and a daily beating.
  • FlamingFox
What a cold-hearted nasty bitch! How could she beat a child like that, especially her own nephew! I hope she gets her ass whipped severly behind bars and she fears for her life every second of every single day for as long as her worthless ass lives! Grrr!
I hate to think if she would have gotten away with this abuse in Taiwan!
  • SFM
Crazy Bitch! I hope they keep the poor child away from her, if they don't the next time she'll probably kill him for seeking help. I pray for the child's complete healing.

The Taiwanese aren't any more accepting of someone keeping a child locked in a bathroom while beating them with a block and breaking their bones than we are, I think.
  • Athena
Unless it was misworded, if she got out on $15,000 bond, then her bail was $150,000. "Bond" refers to the percentage of the bail paid to a bondsman as payment for providing the full collateral.
  • jj999
Athena, I thought it meant that her bond was $15,000. Which means she'd only have to post $1,500. Maybe I misread it.

Taiwan is Buddhists, right? Is the woman referring to custom or religion, I wonder. See, that's where ass-wipes like this bitch get their confused orientation (pun not intended). Culture and customs are often left-overs from centuries past; while religion tends to blend-in and become absorbed with cultural 'stuff'. I'm not a Buddhist, nor do I advocate it since I don't even like the notion of reincarnation anyways. If this bitch is claiming total submission to elders, then I'm hoping they put plenty of senior 'Butches' in her cell block so she can practice what she preaches....bwah..ha..ha..ha..!

It's the son that made the statement - apparently what *he* has been told. Now while there may be emphasis in elder respect in asian cultures, I don't know of any cultures that legitimately expect teenaged boys to be in absolute submission to their mothers, ha. That's much more crazy woman fantasy than taiwanese,

Anyone that hurts a child, should be taken out and wipped with a wet piece of strong leather with spikey things at the end. Then coated in honey, hogged tied and placed on an fire ant hill. Leave them there, whatever the ants don't eat, the vultures can have...I like my idea....I am going to go daydream about this now...
  • MAjustaMom
This poor child, I can only hope he wasn't in school since nobody had reported that he was a no-show for the last few months? this is just vile and to try to blame religion, culture, race, ethnicity or anything else is just BS. This is a pure and simple case of a nutjob who was tired of playing Mommy and rather than ask for help abused the poor kid. So what was she like on the outside? Nice, polite, never-would-suspect anything wrong? My MIL is a nut job (not this bad but got close from what I've been told by her relatives) but, when she was working she ended up in the hospital once and I had to call her office to keep them filled in, they thought she was wonderful. total jekyl/hyde personality. She was in the hospital due to overdosing on a variety of meds (at least that's what the doctor's told us - she claimed they were lying.......hmmmmm - why would they do that?) At work, she had it all together and was exemplary - at home - NUT CASE!!! Very scary that they walk and breath amoungst us......................

In any case, you are in my prayers young man and I hope you physically and mentally heal from these horrific wounds and go on to live a wonderful life.

Here's an update to this story. Seems the nephew was cherished by the woman's deceased husband and he lived a good life until he (the aunt's first husband, the renowned musician) After her hubby died, she got herself a new boyfriend and they went to town on the poor kid.
