Queens, NY–Robert Ogle told his parents, ‘You worry too much,’ before walking out the door to attend a party SundaySunday reviews
evening. A few hours later, 16-year-old Ogle and his friend, 20-year-old Alex Paul, lay dying in the street, just a half-mile from home. They were killed by a drunk driver: 27-year-old Kenneth Guyear. Guyear ran over their bodies several times before fleeing the scene with a smirk on his face.
Guyear came across an idling Kia Spectra outside a deli and decided to go for a drunken joy-ride. The owner of the car dialed 911 as he watched Guyear speed away. A few blocks away, Paul was walking Ogle home from a friends birthday party. WitnessesWitnesses reviews watched in horror as the two young men were struck down in the street. The horror intensified when Guyear flipped the car into reverse and sped forward over and over again, trying to dislodge one of the boys’ bodies from the undercarriage of the car. Guyear then sped away, back toward the deli where he ripped off the car. He was laughing when cops cuffed him. Asshole.
Robert Ogle was pronounced dead at the scene. Alex Paul died a few hours later at Elmhurst Hospital Center.
Kenneth Guyear had a BAC of .126…well above the legal level of .08. He is being charged with assault, two counts of first-degree vehicular manslaughter, two counts of second-degree vehicular manslaughter, manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while intoxicated, criminally negligent homicide, grand larceny and driving without a license. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Queens Criminal Court. Guyear also boasts a pretty extensive rap sheet with arrests for drugs and robbery. Another fine upstanding member of society.

I am so glad you moved this story from the forums to the front.
This makes me soo angry. This punk (who thinks this is funny) popped up on pills and vodka steals a car and runs over 2 good young men. What a ass!!! Now he keeps giving the police different stories. The media says he is only facing 25 years!!!!!!!!!!!
This ass had a criminal history and no remorse. The DA has to be kidding. Is the DA his drinking buddy? Hopefully they will reconsider and throw more at him. His myspace friends seem as clueless and the douchebag.

At Guyear’s arraignment in Queens Criminal Court last night, Prosecutor Catherine O’Connell said the suspect first told cops, “I’m not drunk,” then admitted, “I’ve had three glasses of vodka,” adding, “I do three bags of cocaine a day and I smoke pot.”
She said he also changed his story on the death car, first saying it belonged to a friend and then admitting, “I stole the car that was parked on the street.”
Guyear claimed he saw the victims and didn’t think he hit anyone but still stopped and checked the car for blood. During questioning, he told cops he was homeless and that “I’ve been in Rikers [Island] 1,000 times.” He also allegedly threatened a black officer. “I will have your job,” he was quoted as saying. “For a black cop, you just follow what the white guy tells you to do.”

Guyear, whose MySpace page is littered with drug references and images of Muppets posing with guns, has been locked up on Rikers Island eight times, including a six-month stint in 1999 for robbery and four months in 2006 for stealing a car.
In 1998, Guyear threatened a woman and her teenage daughter after they pressed robbery charges against him by tossing acid on their car, court papers say.
As Guyear was awaiting arraignment, a friend defended the out-of-work loner.
“Stealing cars was his thing, but he wasn’t out to hurt anybody,” said the woman, who gave her name as Margaret. “[And] he definitely has a drinking problem.”

This is some BULLSHIT.
If this piece of waste reversed and ran over his victims a second time, it’s not a stretch to suggest he intentionally struck them to begin with, despite his BAC. Besides, .126 isn’t even all that out of pocket. That’s only a few percentage points over the legal limit – he was only “buzzed”, at that BAC. He knew exactly what he was doing.
This SHOULD be a murder charge, for once.

My son has said those words to me before leaving, too. Still does – even tho he is 22. I DO worry too much – but after this story – I remember WHY I worry so much.
What an irresponsible, inconsiderate, inhuman, selfish , worthless piece of nothing this guy is. It wasn’t bad enough that he hit them ONCE – he had to go back and run them over again. Then flee. Then laugh and smirk about it? What kind of evil is he?
And his myspace? I’m guessing it’s his cousin “Allie” that is keeping it up. Apparently she created the background for him. I read thru all his friend comments and alcohol wasn’t his only vice. There is something being referred to as “popping sticks” and his cousin expresses her concern about it. It seems their lives revolve around partying. She even mentioned a “Sweet 16″… which I find really disturbing – considering he is a 27 year old “man”. Was he in jail in October? One friends message says “freeee kengodddd”… just wonderin’.
He deserves about as much mercy as he showed his victims. NONE. This is one of those cases that should be bumped up to murder based on the “reckless indifference” rule at the least. It’s not that in his drunken state he didn’t “know” what he was doing was wrong — it’s that he didn’t “CARE” that it was wrong.
RIP Robert and Alex. My deepest, deepest sympathies to the families and friends of both young men killed.

No, the kid I saw at the movie store was actually a tragedy; clearly a good kid trying to do his best to fit in, despite having absolutely no idea how to. It was one of the saddest things I’ve seen in a long time. His teenage sister who looked roughly his age was wearing a Pooh sweatshirt and had an old woman haircut. We’re talking about a couple of kids so radically socially inept, you might think they were slow, but they’re not. He had the demeanor of a chess club president, and couldn’t have acted “hood” if someone put a gun to his head.
Not like this moron who, by some retarded stroke of luck, appears to have actually been popular, which probably caused a good portion of this asshole nature. Kids reward stupid people quite often. Kind of like this white boy I knew who hung out at the drug dealers apartment upstairs from me in the hood. My sister and I called him “Slackjaw” because he was a mouth-breather and, had you removed the bandanas and saggy jeans, he would have been a shoe in for some yokal part in Deliverance. Slackjaw liked to act real “hard”, too, because he thought the drug dealers who let him stick around were actually his friends. He even tried to buck up to me once, saying, “Bitch, I run these streets,” to which I quickly replied, “Please… The only thing you run is your mouth.” Coincidentally, two days later, a couple of young black men ripped him from the apartment upstairs, beat his poser ass bloody and left him knocked out in the gravel outside our living room window.
The moral to this story? Punk bitch white boys who try to act “hood” are bound to run into a very intolerant black man (or two) who doesn’t think it’s very cute. Have fun in prison, Kenneth…

I live in Queens so this story has been flooding the local news. One of the local news stations had an interview with the one boy who passed father. It was heartbreaking to watch. It’s so tragic that a piece of crap could take a life.

This is none of your business. And just because I know him doesn’t mean I’m not upset about this whole thing. I feel sad for those families and I know he is stupid for what he did. But I know him personally and he is far from a murderer. He has a big heart and he would never hurt someone intentionally. You can’t believe everything you hear either. He might of laughed when he got arrested but he was drunk and on drugs. He doesn’t remember anything and he is crying his eyes out now that he is sober and was told what happened. He had a rough life since birth. I’m not making excuses for him. But he’s needed help for a while and the courts I guess failed to see that. I do not have to explain myself anymore. But I will always love him with all my heart. I am not his girlfriend or anything. I’m just very close to him. He is devastated and does not want to live with this on his conscience. This is another senseless death due to drug and alcohol addiction. These children and families have been victimized by the behavior of some dysfunctional kid who was drunk and probably high on drugs as well. This should be a wake up for all parents because this could happen to your child too! Lets be honest, if drugs and alcohol were not part of this equation these kids would not be dead. I get it that the driver was a loser, criminal and punk. He will rot in jail for most of his life. However, parents and schools need to educate and treat these kids on addiction and abuse of medications, drugs and alcohol. We need to deal with the origin of the problem if we want it to change.

Wow everyone jumps on the bandwagon when this crap goes down. How many of you actually know the people involved? I am sure some do but I doubt everyone who commented does. I know some of them and I knew Kenny when he was a little kid and I agree he isn’t a murderer (at least not intentionally). He was dead wrong with what he did and I am sure he own family is appalled at this as well but people here talking like they know him doesn’t change anything and doesn’t help anything either. As a matter of fact the address that the press decided to release isn’t even his address and people are harassing innocent people there who had nothing to do with the incident or him at that time. Also after one day people already got a hold of his myspace? It’s deleted now I dunno why or who did it, my point is there should be a limit to what the press is allowed to release. I see articles calling him an asshole and waste of life and all that I am surprised his family isn’t suing for libel (I would) as well as invasion of privacy. They got the wrong address and now involving more innocent people, at least if you are going to direct your anger do it at the correct people otherwise that doesn’t make you much better than he was.
And I agree this was a tragic thing and never should have happened, ever. But I also think the press is overstepping their boundaries.

Fair enough April, but I said he is not a murderer intentionally. The fact is he did murder 2 innocent people but I meant that he isn’t the type to go out and want to kill someone. There is a difference. If the road was slippery and someone sober hit and killed 2 people does that make them a murderer? They did commit murder but at least they didn’t yell at the cops when they got arrested “we had the coke, we had the crack, we had the marijuana, and also we had the beer”.
Public shaming for him is one thing I agree and he should be in jail for a long time if it were my kids that were hit I would be fuming too, I am just saying that the press seems to be taking far too many liberties in this case and disclosing someone else’s address that has nothing to do with him now is wrong.
Noone even really says much about Robert being drunk at 16 at 1:30 am (I wonder what his BAC was) or about the person who left the car running. Kenny is definitely the most wrong there but that still doesn’t justify the other people. My heart does go out to all families involved though.

There is a huge difference in a slippery road and being drunk and on drugs. One is preventable and one is not. The sober person on the slippery road could not control the fact that the road was slippery. Your friend could control not stealing a car why he was drunk and high. That’s why I say it’s murder.
I agree that the press has no right to post his address when he is not the only one that lives in the home. His parents had nothing to do with their son being a fuck up and they don’t deserve to be stalked by people that are mad at their son.
As for Robert being drunk at 16… Who fucking cares? He was walking, not driving. He didn’t put anyone’s life at risk. The driver that left the car running should be charged. In this case, stupid is a crime. But Ken is the true criminal. He doesn’t have a squeaky clean past. He seems to be down right worthless IMHO. So really – Robert’s BAC should not be an issue. What if he was a pregnant woman walking down the street at 1:30 in the morning? A life is a life. Ken stole Robert’s from he.
