Update: 2/13/09-Mariana Garcia was arrested in Mexico. Because she is a Mexican citizen, extradition could take months. Three children were also found, including the two who appeared in the video, and are now in protective custody in Texas.
Update: 2/2/09-Adrian Navarro surrendered to police at the San Antonio International Airport Saturday night. He’s being held on $250,000 bond at Travis County Jail. Authorities are still searching for Garcia.

Austin, TX–Adrian Navarro, 29, and Mariana Garcia, 23, are on the run. Authorities are accusing the pair of videotaping and photographing themselves sexually assaulting two children…one of them a toddler. Police believe that the couple is trying to leave the Austin area, with at least two of the girls depicted in the videos and photographs.
As part of an unrelated incident, police were given permission to search the home of Adrian and Mariana. Authorities were looking for stolen property and stumbled upon a computer hard drive and numerous pornographic pictures showing girls younger than 13. Adrian told officers that the case belonged to an out-of-town relative and he hadn’t gotten around to tossing the pictures in the trash. He gave officers permission to search the hard drive then poofed into thin air with the children and Mariana.
The hard drive revealed over 500 photographs and 15 pornographic videos of children under the age of 18. One of the videos shows Adrian engaging in a sex act with a child under the age of 5, with Mariana nearby, giving the child instructions. In another video, Mariana is seen holding a toddler while Adrian sexually assaulted her. One of the victims referred to Adrian as ‘Daddy.’ Police said Wednesday they are still trying to determine the identity of the children and do not know their whereabouts. Anyone with information, particularly the identity of the children, are asked to call the child abuse tip line at 512-974-6880.
Adrian and Mariana have not yet been arrested. When authorities catch up with them, they will both be charged with aggravated sexual assault, a first-degree felony which carries a sentence of five to 99 years or life in prison, and a fine up to $10,000. Navarro is also charged with promoting child pornography, a second-degree felony.

Although ALL pedophile stories make me ill – the ones where the mother is not only allowing it to happen but actually PARTICIPATING in it – those make me the sickest. It’s like these two bred to molest. I can’t comprehend such behavior.
I agree with all the previous posters that these 2 need to be caught ASAP!! Those poor kids are still suffering and desperate people do desperate things – which scares the hell out of me. What ELSE are they capable of in order to not get caught? What further atrocities will be visited upon these babies by them – or anyone else they encounter??

To those concerned about my tattoo comment:
I’m not against tattoos in the slightest. The man I go to sleep with every night has three. None are on the side of his neck, though.
It’s like this – When you get a tattoo on your neck, you’re intentionally associating yourself with a bad crowd. And not the stoners down the street kind of bad crowd, but the violent, potentially gang-affiliated, drug-running, child-killing kind of bad crowd.
If I walk down the street with a shirt on displaying, oh, the Confederate flag, I’m going to suffer the consequences because, even if I’m a good person, bad things are naturally associated with that flag. Likewise, bad things are associated with tattoos on the sides of necks. I’d guess that well over half of individuals with tattoos on their necks have criminal records, most of which probably list at least one felony charge.
If you pay attention, neck tattoos are a common site here on D’D. That’s why I make comments like that.

Idk man….. I think weve steered away from the point of this story. Yes, they are creeps. Yes, the deserve to do time…. and so on and so forth. I, gana have to disagree with the tattoos and the confederate flag stuff though. Im a professional. I wear a suit 5 days a week. I have 5 tattoos and unless I tell you, most people have NO idea. I look like your typical young female. Now, the guy that does my tattoos is COVERED… his neck too… and I would not put him in ANY stereotype. I know that the people that comment on DD are from all around the country, but anyone from the South will argue that the confecderate flag holds WAYYYYYYYYYY different meaning here than it does in the North. Im from the South, but was born and raised in the North. To me, the confederate flag was a sign of racism in the North but I was told otherwise when I moved South.
Everyone has the right to their opinion. I understand that people of older generations look at the people in my geteneration in disgust for some of the decisions we make. I know my mom was appauled when I came home with my first tattoo and my belly button ring. I continued to get the eye roll every yime there was a new addition of art to my body. And thats exactly what those things are…. “art”. I will argue to my grave that tattoos and body piercings are a way of expressing yourself. Now, I do also believe that they should be used in moderation, but I support the freedom of expression. I also think that anything that may be taken offensivley by another should DEF not be tattooed in clear view on your body. I dont agree with it really at all, but especially not in plain sight.
I guess basically what Im saying is that yea, most of the time you can tell alot about a person by the way they look, their expression, tattoos, piercings, etc. I do, however, beleive that you can do a lot of harm judging a book by its cover. Not everyone is who they appeear to be. Good or bad…thats just my opinion.

Judging a book by its cover can go either way. Yeah, sometimes, you’ll judge incorrectly, but most of the time, that judgment will serve you well. In fact, a lot of the friends of the accused we feature here could have benefited from some judgment.
Judging people and situations is what keeps us safe (or puts us at risk if we judge incorrectly). If you went out of your way to make yourself look like a criminal, the onus is on you to prove otherwise, not on me to blindly look past it, putting myself at potential risk.
Oh, and Philly… You were concerned enough to use “!?” and “hate” in reference to my comment.
Regardless, yes, I do typically post responsibly, and I do fact check. That’s why most people realize that I’m joking when I say things like “I’m going to start carrying a taser to protect myself from anyone with a neck tattoo that comes within arms length.”
You yourself stated that you’re not a fan or neck or face tattoos, so I’m not sure why you’re so taken aback by a comment that was an obvious exaggeration.

I always think I’ve seen the worst, then I read something like this. I don’t support vigilantes but in this case, I would highly suggest it. Ha – I must be the only one that thought that was funny. It’s face tattoos I always harsh on. Tattooing your face and neck advertises that you’ve permanently checked out of mainstream society, so you better be a rock star, lol. And as for facial tattooing in this country, I just don’t know why they don’t tattoo what they mean literally – “Please keep me incarcerated for life.”

Oh please, Athena never said that. I said something much closer by suggesting that tattooing your face in this country is a request to be incarcerated. And you *know* you’re full of bullshit when you say that people with obvious, unconcealable tattooing aren’t trying to convey a message, when in an earlier post you acknowledge that tattoos are a form of self expression. We can argue what exactly they are expressing about themselves, but let’s not pretend there isn’t something they are intentionally committing to conveying to others this way.
