New Port Richey, FL–I have always told my friends that there is no way I would last as a cop. I would have one run-in with someone like Eric Marusak, I would taze, or shoot, the ever-loving hell out of him, and I would be fired…and possibly brought up on charges…by the end of my shift.

!! As Marusak’s car was approaching the officer and his radar gun, he turned a hard left, crossed the oncoming lanes of US 19, and slammed right into a chain link fence. A metal pole from the fence impaled the driver’s side door, but it didn’t appear that Marusak or his female passenger were hurt…they appeared to be shitfaced.
They both exited through the passenger door and approached the officer. ‘Dude, those four shots really kicked my ass!’ Marusak proclaimed. ‘I’m wrecked dude. And I got a suspended license.’ Marusak was unsteady on his feet, had bloodshot eyes, and reeked of booze. At this point, the officer didn’t think a breathalyzer was necessary…he put the drunk in the back of the cruiser, without cuffs. Doesn’t that cop ever watch COPS? Always handcuff the drunk asshole, always.
Marusak morphed from a happy drunk into a mean and nasty drunk. He started kicking the partition in the cop car. When the officer asked him to stop, Marusak started in with the death threats. Seriously, I think I’ve seen this episode about 200 times!
The officer decided that maybe it was time to cuff the drunk. When the officer opened the back door, Marusak kicked him square in the nuts, punched him, and spit at him. Then, he began to growl…like a dog. He lunged at the officer and tried to bite him a couple of times.
At some point in the melee, a few more officers showed up at the scene. It took 6 officers to restrain Marusak. Doesn’t even look like they roughed him up any. The temper tantrum continued all the way to the station. Marusak kicked the door so much, and so hard, that he bent the door and knocked the window off it’s track, causing about $1,000 in damage. Yeah, I would’ve had to subdue him with my nightstick.
Marusak isn’t a stranger to the judicial system…his arrest record is reported to be at least 18 pages long! Some of his charges; battery on an officer, parole violation, DUI, another DUI, probation violation, another DUI, tampering with a witness through intimidation, criminal mischief, and battery.
They just added a couple more pages to his record. Erick Marusak is being charged with DUI, resisting arrest with violence, battery and simple assault on an officer, and habitually driving with a suspended license. He is being held without bond.

I would not either. After the BS this guy put these cops through, I’m surprised his mugshot shows so little damage. But nowadays, with camera cell phones and such, I’m glad they didn’t. I would so hate for this asshole to get a lawsuit against the police dept. and possibly get off with this incident because of some photos some bystander took.

Ridicules judges not putting people like this away forever. You know he’s going to run over someone sooner or later. Sounds like he’s done everything but kill as is.

I’m with you Jaded, I couldn’t be a cop either. I would have kicked this guys balls in to next week. What a dumb-fuck. I bet he doesn’t feel so brave once he’s sober and behind bars.

Hell , I would have tazered his ass, then sent in the K-9s to chew on him for a bit.
Looks like they are tired of messing with Eric, he racked up quite a bit of charges this time and he might even do some hard time for it.
