Rockland, MA – Fifth grade teacher Christine McCallum, 29, is one hell of a tutor. Starting in 2007, when she was tutoring a fifth grader, she began a sexual relationship with her student’s older brother. Which might not be such a problem, except that the boy was thirteen years old. And she had sex with him over 300 times in 19 months. Oh yeah, you heard me. That’s like, one bang every other day, with occasional twofers. Guess who’s not smarter than a fifth grader?
Prosecutors say the married McCallum plied the boy with alcohol to get him all relaxed and rarin’ to go, then tapped that kid like a mafia phone line. Not a good idea. Now, the defense says it never happened, not any of the 300 times, and that she was acting as a “mother figure” to a young boy being raised by a single father. Um, I do not think June Cleaver was hittin’ it with the Beav, I’m just sayin’.
The boy is now 16, and his dad recently found some written correspondence between McCallum and the boy. The father confronted his son, got the story, and took the evidence to police. Good for dad! Some father would have brushed it off as a “hot for teacher” thing, muttered something about “hey, I wish I could have made it with a hot teacher when I was your age” and let it go. Not this father, and for that, he gets big kudos from your favorite imp. Sexual abuse against boys is too often brushed off or ignored.
Given the letter(s) – I don’t know how many there were – police talked to the boy, and then arrested Christine McCallum on Thursday. She was charged with three counts of rape in Brockton District Court for events that occurred in Abington. McCallum was then charged with four more counts of rape in Hingham District Court, which covers the town of Rockland.
McCallum appeared in both courts on FridayFriday reviews
and pleaded not guilty. She has been released on $10,000 bond pending trial, but has to surrender her passport and wear a GPS tracking device to ensure that she stays away from the boy, his family, and children under 16. McCallum has been fired from her position at Woodsdale Elementary School in Abington.

WTF, another one? They keep adding requirements all the time for upcoming teachers – apparently they need to add a class in the teaching program on how to deal with sexual urges toward students, and have some very rigorous exit exams, possibley utilizing lie-detector tests, shock treatments, and exorcism – yikes!!
You know, as a teacher, I’m quite perplexed (as well as horrified) by all the teachers that are hot for their students, even youngsters in junior high and middle school! Not only do I not understand the attraction, but hey, any teacher who has read about all the teachers in deep doo-doo for sexual crimes with students knows what’s in store for them eventually . . . . . . . geez, even if that isn’t a deterrent, anyone that’s ever been through jr. high or high school knows how reliable teenagers are at keeping secrets – particularly really BIG ones! How could anyone make it through college and the teaching program and come out that stupid?! I guess a pedophile’s a pedophile, regardless. . . . .

I think my issue with this is that boys who are 13 are just kinda gross. And unfinished. Even the smartest kid in the world at that age is a mess of puberty and hormones and weird smells.
If she’d had an affair with the single dad, it wouldn’t even blip on the social radar. And i really cannot for the life of me fathom what a 13 year old boy could offer her emotionally, physically or any other way that his father couldn’t do better.

I honest to god cannot believe it each time I read a teacher/student case.I dont understand the attraction to a child!!A teacher here was sentenced yesterday to 4 yrs in prison for having sex with teen girls.He has another 3 trials to go the judge wanted to try seperately in order to get the maximum number of yrs thrown at him .He was the RELIGION teacher at my daughters catholic high school!!And I hope she gets yrs in prison too.Something has to be done because its just crazy each week there seems to be more and more and the females doing it I just dont know what to say!@!

Makes a case for homeschooling doesn’t it. My son is 12 and in middle school, and let me say if some women did this to my son she should look at jail as protective custody.

I agree, I love kids and I love being around them and it doesnt make me have any improper thoughts at all.But I also have to admit I cant handle being around any a large group of small kids for along period of time anymore.

First, this bitch is as sick as they come. I don’t feel there should be difference in punishment between the male and female predators, although there does seem to be. If this had been a male…he’d be gone doing a lot of time, in no time flat.
This is an adult, well, supposed to be and there is no way on this earth that this woman didn’t know what she was doing was wrong.
Hot or not there are just some lines that a sane human being does NOT cross. I have a 15 year old son and 17 year old daughter who have friends who frequent my home on a daily basis….there is NO way I would even think of one of their friends in this light…muchless act on it.

I remember when my boys were this age. Imp’s correct, boys at that age are generally, well, a bit hygiene challenged.
I never even had any thoughts along these lines with any of their buddies. Hell, I was just glad if they took a shower and changed their socks. I just don’t remember my kids (or their buddies) even liking their teachers, even the pretty ones.
This is really very sad and seems like it’s becoming more common. The punishment should be if the same if the situation were reversed, IMO.

LOL My son is 15 years old and just now has really developed an interest in girls. So, far though the nicest thing he has ever said about a teacher is that she grades easy. I also recall that getting my son to change clothes and I also remember having to tell him no shower, no bed buddy!!
Minus, you are absolutely right…they will attempt to prosecute a 4 year old pre schooler who goes to hug his teacher good-bye and accidently rubs against her breast but, a teacher can rape and/or molest a teen and they act like it’s not a big deal most of the time.
We are supposed to trust our kids in these teacher’s care for 6 hours a day?? I don’t trust teachers at all and that’s exactly why I give my grandchildren, ages 3&5 the 3rd degree about how their school day was.

There are always exceptions. When I was a teenager, one of the hottest boys I ever met was 13. He was 6′2″ with a very strong jaw line and not an awkward thing about him. Of course, I still ran the other way because I was 16 at the time and no fuckin’ WAY was I going to do anything but skate with a guy 3 years younger than me.
So, yeah, even if this kid was an exception, I still can’t see where she was coming from on this one.

I must say that I also used to know a VERY hot 13-year-old. He was over 6 feet tall, well-built and devastatingly handsome (imagine, black hair, green eyes, tan). He wasn’t awkward and didn’t have zits – he looked like a man, at least 20 years old. He was a family friend.
And get this… I was 17-18 or so at the time, and he had a crush on me. And yet, I wouldn’t have “taken advantage” of him in a million years, because he was for me still a little kid!
