scdt92 Anthony LaMantia Is A Recalcitrant Pedophile

Anthony LaMantia

Liberty, NY – Anthony LaMantia likes little girls.  And, apparently, the occasional little boy as well.  LaMantia, 56, is a registered sex offender in the state of New York.  Why?  Because he raped two preteens repeatedly between 1998 and 2001, that’s why.   LaMantia was convicted in 2005 of second-degree rape and was placed on ten years supervised probation.  You heard me – probation.  For child rape.   Um, New York?  WTF?

Apparently, there were as many as four victims in the 2005 case, with molestations happening as far back as 1998.  But a young girl and boy were not able to articulate the events well because they were too young when the events occurred, and the prosecution chose to go ahead with two other, older victims in order to get a conviction and get LaMantia registered as a sex offender.

But lately, Anthony LaMantia’s been slipping.  He was caught staring at and following one of the victims, now a young adult, in a local grocery store.  A man who didn’t know of LaMantia’s history notified authorities that Anthony was hanging around a local apartment complex and kept asking to babysit the man’s children. That kind of freaked out the tipster, as well it should have.  Anthony LaMantia is not the guy you want sitting for your kids.

After the weird grocery store stalking incident, two of LaMantia’s former child victims were interviewed for the first time since before the 2005 trial.  Now that the kids are older – young adults, in some cases -  they were able to accurately describe the acts that were forced on them by LaMantia.  And apparently their descriptions match evidence that went unused and uncharged before.  Guess that’ll teach Anthony to stalk his victims into adulthood, huh?

Y’know, denizens, it doesn’t matter how old you are – it’s never too late to tell.  Not only are these former victims giving themselves closure and getting a little justice;  they are also saving other children from Anthony LaMantia.  And that’s a gift that keeps on giving. I’m proud of these kids.  I hope that Sullivan County will take LaMantia’s incurable pedophilia into account and place him where he can’t hurt anyone this time.

When Anthony LaMantia showed up at his probation office December 18, he was arrested and charged with the sexual abuse of two victims, a boy and a girl who were under 12 at the time. He is charged with two counts of sodomy and two counts of child sexual abuse.  He is being held in the Sullivan County Jail without bond.

We need total reform of pedophile laws/penalties – nationwide. AND they should all know that they will be kept in GP!

These pedo’s can NOT be rehabilitated, they should receive life sentences from the first conviction! Life sentences in Mental asylums, do shock treatments on them, chemical or surgical castration (I’m not sure that works), use them as crash test dummies! That is the only answer! Write your Senators and Legislators, keep buggin’ them about this, until it’s done! If we were able to wipe them out of the gene pool, we wouldn’t have to hear, read or experience this awful & horrific crime! JMO

said it before and I’ll say it again, you get caught with weed or crack, go to jail for as long as possible. But rape a child, scar them for life etc. Slap on the wrist. Despite all the tough talk by pols about longer sentences, very seldom do these dirtbags get the jailtime they deserve

It’s sad to hear that the cycle of child molestation does not come to a halt especially when the perpetrator was once a victim himself. Keeping these crooks locked up is only part of the answer. Having these perps go through some psychological counseling and rehabilitation is another.

I don’t think they get enough counseling while they are in prison.

I wish you were a consultant for law makers / law enforcement – you have some excellent ideas on lowering the crime rate!

I don’t think they get enough counseling while they are in prison.

From what I’ve heard / read, no amount of counseling will cure pedophilia. So that is why I prefer this solution:

Just put him at the bottom of a deep pit, then fill it in quickly.

Or, from a more compassionate,Christian perspective, I forget which evangelist said this, but here is another alternative:
“Tell them about Jesus, then give then the electric chair.”

Once again…the great state of New York. Between this and the other story where the mother killed her overweight son the day after Christmas…New York is sending a bad message to the rest of us as to how they approach crimes against children! Creating their own monster there…

What a freak of nature. I can’t believe they gave him probation. Someone should have added this monster to the collection of bodies at the bottom of the Hudson.

Pedos can’t be reformed… how many times do people need to hear that?  They don’t need to be locked-up forever, either; they need to be executed.  Our money needs to be spent on education and better services for those of us who abide by the social and legal laws; not spent on those who hold no value, but only take away from our children in another way by living off the resources meant for the good of society… they are parasites any way you cut it!
