Patricia Murray and Brian Stephenson
Henrico County, VA–Have you ever been at a stop-light behind a bus full of children? If the bus is full of younger kids, you will likely see some face-making and tongue-waggling directed at you. You might even get flipped off if the kid is feeling especially froggy that day. Hell, I’ve been known to make faces right back at ‘em. But Patricia and Brian…they got me beat! They pulled out a .40-caliber handgun and started waving it at the kids. Oh yeah, and Patricia’s daughter was on that bus. Talk about embarrassing your child on a grand scale!
For an unknown reason, Murray, 26, and her fiancee Brian Stephenson, 36, were following a YMCA bus filled with elementary aged school kids last week. I guess the couple felt threatened by the silly faces and obscene gestures because Murray picked up a gun and pointed it at the kids. She didn’t want Stephenson to miss out on the good times, so she passed the gun to him and he did the same. Scaring little kids…what a hoot!
The kid sitting next to Murray’s daughter on the bus later told officers that the little girl ‘watched her mother wave the gun around toward the bus and she ducked.’ Was it from complete and total embarrassment or fear?
Seeing the gun obviously created quite a bit of chatter between the 9-10 kids at the back of the bus, and some of the kids were a little freaked out. Word got around to the bus driver about what happened and he reported the incident and the police were called in. Several hours and 10 interviews later, the couple was arrested.
Patricia Murray and Brian Stephenson both face a total of 8 charges each, five counts of brandishing a firearm and three counts of felony child endangerment. Bond was set at $3,000 for Murray and $2,250 for Stephenson. Really, it would have been much cheaper if they had just stuck their tongues out. Idiots.
