Unicoi County, TN–The few memories I have of my grandpa will last me a lifetime. He was a rotund man with rosy cheeks and a laugh like Santa Claus. He always had a box of Chiclets gum in his shirt pocket, the red ones saved for me. He saw the tom-boy in me and always had a new Matchbox car on hand. Nothing but good memories in the 6 short years that I knew him. Howard Hoke’s 5-year-old grandson will have a few long-lasting memories of him too…memories of abuse and sexual assault.
Officer Heather Reams arrived at Hoke’s home late SaturdaySaturday reviews
evening to follow up on a 911 hang-up that had come from the home. When Hoke answered the door, he tried to assure the officer that everything was fine…just fine. While he was going on about how great things were, Reams noticed that Hoke had blood on his jeans. Blood could also be seen on the floor inside the home. When she asked if she could take a look inside the house, Hoke refused. After she persisted, he allowed her inside. That’s when she witnessed Hoke’s wife, Kim Bullock, cleaning blood off the 5-year-old’s face. He had a bloody nose and a busted lip.
Reams questioned the child about his injuries and, at first, the little guy wouldn’t say anything. He eventually told Reams that his PawPaw hit him and ‘bent his thumb backward.’ An examintation at the hospital revealed numerous injuries. He had injuries to his thumbs, bruises on his back, ribs and legs. His eyes, cheeks, and forehead were also bruised up. Not only that, but doctors found evidence that suggests sexual battery as well. The little boy told medical personnel that PawPaw Hoke caused all of those injuries. Nice grandpa, real fuckin’ nice.
Howard Hoke, 45, was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse and aggravated sexual battery. Hoke was arraigned Monday in Unicoi County Sessions Court and remained jailed late Monday afternoon on a $300,000 bond. Hoke has prior abuse related convictions in Colorado; cruelty to a child in 1987 and child abuse in 1991.

I really hope his wife didn’t know of the sexual abuse…….It sounded to me that she probably was the one who called 911 and he hung up, but who knows. If she did know I hope she is charged as well. PawPaw, that broke my heart.
Howard – I hope you suffer the same fate as your grandson in prison. Asshole!

What a fucking asshole! And his wife was right there cleaning up his mess! Pitiful.
Thankfully the police officer was persistent…wonder who called 9-11 in the 1st place?!
If he was sexually abusing his young grandson so blatantly, I would not be surprised if he hadn’t abused his own children. Should have been a red flag to his parents to NOT leave their kid w/ this wacko. I hope he BURNS…

Judging by some of the reader comments I have come across on news sites, the child was left with the grandparents because his own parents couldn’t or wouldn’t take care of him.
If the child is bruised that badly, I would find it very hard to believe that grandma didn’t know what was going on. It doesn’t sound to me like the abuse happened in just one day.
I think there is probably a bit more to this story than what I am getting….I’ll update when new information becomes available.

Oh I am just sickened by this! Sounds like his dirtball wife isn’t any better and if the cops hadn’t insisted on coming in she sure wasn’t going to come around the corner and speak up! My stomach hurts at the thought that this little guy may have even been the one to dial 911, only to have someone catch him and slam it down.
PEOPLE: If you are a little f-ed in the head, or not sure if children are right for you…DAMMIT DON’T HAVE ANY!!!! And if you are so miserable that you are doing bad things to children or people who don’t deserve it, you don’t deserve to live! End it!!

Looks like Granny & PawPaw had custody if the child for some reason. ????
This stuff doesnt just appear at once, for a child to call a man his Pawpaw, means this asswhipes been there for a while, I find it hard to believe ganny hasnt seen him abuse this child before. Given his extensive background in harming children. I would cut her more slack if she accually talked to the cops instead of hanging up if it was her that called and not the child. Not to mention the news said its his OWN GRANDSON, right and granny knew nothing about his past.
This poor kid and brusies all over his body, ears, legs, back, face …….. this wasnt just finger bending it was a full out smackdown on a 5 year old boy.

87 91 that would be … 17 – 21 yrs ago daddyO was 24-28 yrs old … beating his own kids — surely they would know not to leave their kids with them… maybe it is better to think daddy0 has changed so they can go to fusion … what a big risk to chance… whether or not she is the bio grandma or not. She must of known and got tired of it at some point and turned hisself in and got the immunity what ever the case… I am just glad the child won’t suffered anymore at pawpaw’s expense.

My guess is that grandma is the bio-related relative here and PawPaw is the step relative if his child abusing past was unknown. So while Pawpaw has possibly been around this kid’s whole life, it’s not clear how long (or briefly,) they’ve had custody of him.

Even if she did call 911, she was busy cleaning up hubby’s mess when the officer was RIGHT THERE. She should have told the cop herself. Not doing so, when she had the opportunity, is neglect.

The scumbag shown in the mugshot above, who goes by the nickname “Skeeter” grew up in Laurel, MD. He has been a criminal for as long as we can remember. Whether it be theft, assault, child abuse, DWI’s, he is truly a waste of oxygen. I have included a link to the Maryland Judiciary Web Search site for anyone interested in viewing this pedophiles extensive rap sheet, that goes back as far as the early 80’s. Lucky for our hometown, this loser moved away years ago after turning states evidence on anyone he possibly could to get out of his own jail time. He did resurface this past summer, 2008 after being released from prison in Hagerstown, MD. I am not sure what his conviction was for this particular prison stay. How unfortunate that he was released. If they could of kept him incarcerated, maybe his innocent grandson could of had a Merry Christmas and had a nice visit from “Santa” instead a beating from this piece of shit! We can only hope that Harold Hoke is found guilty of all charges and given the maximum jail time. FYI: The shit eating grin he is wearing on his face is very typical of this asshole. Hopefully his cellmate doesn’t think it’s sexy and knocks his lights out! Better yet, hopefully his cellmate does think it’s sexy and raped this sorry excuse of a human being. Rot in Hell SKEETER!

Laurel sure is lucky to have Skeeter GONE!! He was always a nasty human being. Always starting trouble or in trouble. He was barred from most bars in the area.
