“Fuck it,” you say, “I’m going out to get something to eat before I sober up and start puking.” Or, maybe you’re one of that tiny minority of folks who rouse the family at the crack of dawn with a big smile and lots of happy kisses so you can all go have a hearty and satisfying breakfast before church.

240 may have been the road you needed to travel to get to IHOP or the Waffle House, and this past SundaySunday reviews morning, you might have been in for a bit of an unpleasant surprise. Around 8:00 a.m., passing motorists discovered a body on an entrance ramp at Interstate 240 and Mount Moriah.
Her body found Sunday morning, and here we are at Thursday, with virtually no media coverage of the death of 18-year-old Wajonel (aka “Jonel”) DeSilva. From what little information is available, we know that Jonel was the mother of 2-year-old Jayla, who is now in the care of her grandmother Toni Ladmirault. Ladmirault told ABC24CW30, “I just want to know what happened to her. She was a good girl, always happy and joyful. She loved everybody and didn’t have a single enemy. If somebody knows what happened, I hope they come forward.”
I’m thinking that Jonel’s 23-year-old boyfriend might be someone who knows what happened, as she was last seen in his company. Released from the Shelby County Jail just two days before Jonel’s death, he told her family he would go talk to police, but he hasn’t done so yet. He also is apparently still tooling around in Jonel’s black Cadillac Deville and has not yet seen fit to return it to the family. Suspicious? Can I get a “AW HELL YEAH”?
When found, Jonel DeSilva’s upper body was so badly mutilated that her mother had to identify her by a photo taken of one of her tattoos–a tattoo of her boyfriend’s name. While funeral arrangements for the young woman are incomplete, it is likely the service will be closed casket.
In addition to raising her own three young children, Toni Ladmirault will now be responsible for her 2-year-old granddaughter. And at a time when she would normally be thinking of buying her children Christmas gifts, Ladmirault now worries about covering the costs related to her daughter’s funeral. An account has been established at the Bank of AmericaAmerica reviews to help cover the expenses, and those wishing to contribute should ask about the “Wajonel Ladrimault-DeSilva Fund.”
Meanwhile, Jonel’s probably-scumbag boyfriend is still out there. Still driving his dead girlfriend’s car. And still to tell police what he knows about his last hours in her presence. Somehow, I doubt he’s off grieving.

ABSOLUTELY they need to bring this case to get some help from the public… THIS POOR YOUNG GIRL AND HER EXISTING FAMILY, HER MOM, AND HER SISTERS AND BROTHERS AND HER OWN CHILD… I HOPE THEY FIND THE PERSON FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS and if it is the ex boyfriend, how dare he do that and he must enjoy the prison life, he could have just returned himself and said to the police i don’t like freedom, DONT TAKE A LIFE to get back into the slammer asshole….

For some reason I always hate stories like this around Christmas time too. Not to take any from anyone else’s families, but this is supposed to be a joyous time. What a punk bitch the boyfriend is still driving her car, that makes me sick!

This poor girl was 18 years old, beaten beyond recognition and left on the highway like some road-kill.. No one is looking for the boyfriend, her Mother now has to bury her, take care of her child, Well, just Merry Fucking Christmas.
Why is her death of no consequence? Because she’s black? This is more than disgusting! I almost want to stop reading on here, because it is so fucking depressing some days.. But we need to make these tragedy’s known and talk about them, if only for the victims sakes.. Rest in peace Jonel, and I truly hope they get this bag of shit boyfriend and make him suffer beyond recognition!
You know, the closer we get to xmas, the more of this shit is going to happen, and you know that we’ll hear about it.. So toughen up fellow DDer’s… lets shame these bags of garbage, and carry some big stones….

So very tragic. Sounds like she was a good mother to her child… doesn’t surprise me that the media is not covering this and giving it the attention it should have….so sad.
This poor young women was robbed of a life and for that her killer should pay with his.
I hope they find this bastard, beat him senseless then fry him. He is a piecofshit, bastard and doesn’t deserve to breath our air. …of course, I’m assuming he killed her and it sure as hell looks that way.
I pray for the mother who lost her life in such a brutal way and her grieving family who will miss her dearly.

I doubt it as well. A big flashing red light goes off when someone – anyone – is driving a dead person’s car. A murdered dead person, who happens to be your girlfriend! The First 48 is probably in town and the Memphis police are hard at work on their TV show – no time to notify the public of this case, no time to pull that Caddie over and haul his loser ass downtown! So sad for all these families involved on Christmas! I’m sure on the update we’ll get to see his mug and we’ll have the facts…what was the cause of death? Do we know yet?

Not yet. My impression is that LE is purposely not releasing the info yet, hopefully so they can make a strong case against the boyfri–I mean, whoever might be arrested for her murder.

The story I read this morning said that most of her visible injuries were more than likely from being run over after she was already pushed (thrown, dumped, shoved) onto the roadway. Whether or not she was still alive when that happened is to be determined. My thought is that she was not.
I do hope that they put some extra effort into finding her killer.

Big ups to NurseRhonda for writing this up in the forum, and to Lizard for bringing it to the FP. It’s stories like this that piss me off to no end!!! She was found on Sunday, and it’s Thursday when we hear about it? I Googled her name..4 fucking entries for a murdered mother! Can’t they somehow “force” the boyfriend to come forward? He’s driving her car..can’t they pull him over for some infraction? I mean, maybe she was run over by her own car? I can’t wait to see if this one actually gets solved. This sounds like Tia Poklemba, remember her story? That’s disappeared from the news (and she’s white for those who care). She was found dying after being run over. I wonder if the killer was copying the technique.
I agree there should be a moritorium on cruelty and crime for December. It’s just so sad when evil gets its licks in around the holiday.

No, I think the person who killed her ran over her, so he or she knew what the bump was and maybe did it intentionally.
