Gainesville, FL–I guess we can take Kristin Cruz’s name off the list for mother of the year. Because she is a complete moron, an incompetent mother, and a drunk, she is now facing a slew of charges ranging from hit-and-run, to battery, to child abuse.
At about 10:45 p.m. Monday night, an officer watched as Cruz slammed her Volkswagen Golf into the rear end of another car, causing injury to the passengers of the other car. Cruz didn’t stick around to assess the damage or exchange insurance information…she took off. Police pursued and caught up with her a few blocks away.
Cruz told officers, ‘I’m not going to lie to you. I have been drinking.’ Then she started crying, screaming, blubbering and all that other happy crap. She refused to perform any sobriety tests, she refused to submit to a breath test. When she was asked to sit down and calm herself, she kicked one of the officers in the leg. While police were conversing with the crazy drunk bitch, they noticed a small child in the backseat of the car.
Cruz’s 7-year-old daughter had been in the car the whole time. She told officers that she had been in the car, alone, for a long time. Her mother left her in there while she hit the lounge with her friends. Now, I’ve had experience with 7-year-old children, it is almost impossible for them to sit still for long periods of time. How did Cruz convince her child to complacently sit in that car by herself? Was the child used to such behavior and treatment from her mother? There is no report as to whether or not the child was injured in the accident or who is taking care of her now that mommy is in jail.
When officers arrived at the jail with Cruz, they discovered a baggy of marijuana in her pocket. Kristin Leigh Cruz is now being charged with child abuse, DUI, leaving the scene of a crash involving injury, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, possession of marijuana, taking contraband into a jail, refusing to submit to a DUI test after her license had been suspended, and refusing to sign a citation. Her bond was set at $47,000. State records show that her license had been suspended in April of 2007 for refusing to submit to a breath test. Kristin, the first step is admitting that you have a problem….bitch.

Sadly… I’m sure the child must have been exposed to the sit still or you’ll get a beating. Heck, I still have trouble sitting still for long periods of time. I hope mommy dearest gets a warm welcome from fellow inmates who miss their children

honestly, there should SERIOUSLY be some kind of competency test for expecting mothers. along with an IQ test. and a psych review.
if you fail any one of them, you have to give your baby up for adoption.
i’m sure that this isn’t the first time that she has done something like this to her child. and what’s really sad is that the girl is 7 years old. when babies get taken out of situations like this, at least they don’t remember how terribly their parent (s) treated them and they get a new start with a family that cares…
but when the child is older, they’re going to have to carry those memories of their shitty parents with them forever.

I wonder how many times the kidlet got left home alone while mom went out partying? I’m sure she’ll miss mom because well, she’s “mom”, but I hope she has the chance to live with folks that care about her and she begins to realize that mom needs some help and that her “way” of taking care of her isn’t the norm.

To me this is one of the worst crimes you can commit, putting a child at risk like that. It makes me sick to my stomach. Accidents are very scary and she caused it because she was a dumb bitch. On a side note, I was scanning over the stories and at first I thought it said Grossville instead of Gainesville. She is gross, what is up with her eyes???

I see alot of that in Florida, were they refuse to take the drunk test or blow into the machine, DumbAss thats automatic suspention of your drivers licence, but what the fuck does she care , she will just get behind the wheel with out it. AND take her kid into a car that now has NO INSURNACE. Stupid drunks. It didnt work the first time WTF , its not going to work the second time.
Poor kid was left in the car while mommy was boozing it up inside.

That is super sad. My “baby” is 7 years old and would flip out alone in the car or alone anywhere. The thought makes my stomach hurt. Dammit! WTF this POS??? I hope they take her daughter away forever and put her with a nice mommy and daddy who deserve her. Poor thing. I’m sorry- but WTF and why the hell are all of the crazies always from Florida???????????

10 or so years ago…i dated someone that i knew from high school that had the same age child as mine(they are both 19 now but his father and i dated when they were in kindergarten) and we would have to frequently have to go get his son from his mother in her car because she had left him in her car asleep in front of the “house party” she was at and this child at 5-6 had enough sense to go in the house party, find a phone and call his dad…i swear to God i waited for the day that we(his father and I) were called for a Caylee similar case. I ended the relationship a year later..but OMG this brought up such memories….

Mmmm and we call these people parents. Imagine that! This woman should not be allowed to ever see the light of day again and her poor child should be put somewhere where he/she will never see “mom” again. And even worse, this child is 7…its not like they are 2 or 3 (which wouldnt be any better) but the poor child will remember that for the rest of their lives. At that point in the child’s development they have a pretty good memory. This will cause trust issues and PTSD. Like the story of Imani Jennings, the parents who have committed such a crime will do their time and there is no law that ensures that they cannot have children again. That crazy bitch is pregnant again..and so beigns a new era of an innocent child born into a near hopeless life. Its pretty fucked up if you ask me. In the parents sentencing, in my opinion, it should be more than clear and written in stone that they CANNOT EVER be in the presence of another child… Neither pregancy nor adoption, family, or friends….. but il keep dreaming. Pisses me off
