Tyrell McDaniel Wins Youngest Babykiller Award

UPDATE 12/16/08 - Tyrell McDaniel has done it again. While out on bond awaiting trial for the murder of his son Malachi, Tyrell and a buddy robbed and assaulted a 66-year-old Henry Lee Williams, who was left to die in the street. Now 18, Tyrell was arrested this month at a pre-trial hearing in Malachi’s murder. More details at the bottom of this article.

, AZ (February 26, 2008) – Yep, that’s right. Tyrell Marquis McDaniel has won the Dreamin’ Demon’s Youngest Babykiller Award for murdering his one-year-old son Malachi Brewster. McDaniel was indicted on Monday and charged with first-degree murder and multiple counts of child abuse. McDaniel is all of seventeen years old. He will be tried as an adult.
Malachi Brewster was born when his father was just sixteen years old, and McDaniel had occasional overnight visits. Early on the morning of Tuesday, February 12, police were called by one of McDaniel’s friends, saying that Malachi was not breathing. Malachi’s mother had dropped the baby off with McDaniel to stay overnight. Officers arrived at McDaniel’s home a little before 2:00 a.m. At that time, responders noticed bruises on Malachi’s chest and forehead.
McDaniel told police that Malachi had hit his head on a vase, but doctors called bullshit and said that the baby had suffered a “shaken impact injury”. Malachi was also suffering from a brain bleed, and died after less than a day on life support. Tyrell McDaniel told investigators that he “often gets angry” and had been using drugs, mainly marijuana, in the hours before Malachi was killed.
Malachi’s mother has not been identified in the press. I’m guessing she’s a minor – if not, her name will pop up in the news soon enough and I’ll update. I’m still looking for pics of Malachi as well. McDaniel is being held in the Maricopa County Jail.
UPDATE 12/16/08 – And… Tyrell McDaniel is back in jail again. After making bail this spring, Tyrell went home to hang out with his friends and await trial in baby Malachi’s murder. And to Tyrell McDaniel, hanging out = drug-related robbery and more homicide. On September 25, Tyrell and his friend Roger Porter decided to rob 66-year-old Henry Lee Williams for drug money and his car. After robbing and shooting Williams, Tyrell and Roger chased the victim down and beat him severely – then left the man to die in the street. I guess Tyrell McDaniel doesn’t discriminate on the basis of age.
Tyrell, who was 17 when his baby boy was killed, is now 18. He’s also an elusive little bastard. Once police figured out he was the evildoer, it took them until this month to catch him. On December 5, Tyrell had a pretrial hearing for Malachi’s murder, and the police were waiting. He was arrested for robbery and homicide, and is now back in the Maricopa County Jail awaiting trial on two murders.

We’ve gone from adults killing babies, to babies killing babies. What a sad commentary on the state of the human race.
I have to say it again though. Where the hell were the parents?! Not Malachi’s, but the teens’ parents. Where were they? If they had done a better job of supervising extracurricular activities, Malachi wouldn’t have been here to kill in the first place. And isn’t it still their job to raise and guide their own? A parent doesn’t get to quit parenting just because their kid has a kid. It’s a lifetime commitment! Am I the only one who still believes this? Does everyone else these days cut their kids off, and take absolutely no interest in their lives, after they have children? Am I the only one who thinks that the parents of these kids have some culpability here? Where the hell were THEY while this baby was being murdered?

Yes, sustained. You don’t shake a typical 1 yr old for a few seconds to cause this level of injury. Then again, the bruising to bubby’s forehead and chest and brain bleed might have been caused by blunt force trauma (something hitting him, like a ‘often gets angry’ fist, or being hit against something hard, like a wall, or a ‘killer’ vase. Ohhhh yeah. A couple of times a year I might take a hit now – but I tell my better half to be prepared if I do. The only “violence” it brings out in me is in the bedroom — and then later, on whatever food I can find to stop the munchies! LMAO.
So I would have to agree that there was more in his system (hard liquor even) than pot. I know with hard liquor my ex’s got violent. Not so much beer — but give them whiskey and you’d better get the hell out of Dodge! From 0 to motherfucker in less than 30 seconds. My first husband never touched me violently while “just high” but when he added liquor to the mix – I wound up bruised, furniture got broken.. just a rampage would occur. I’m sure no one really thinks along those lines though. As soon as they hear pot was consumed, alcohol becomes a “non-issue” or its relevance is downplayed. Pot is illegal and therefore MUST be why the bad thing happened.

O.k. This is kind of hard for me because this guy killed my uncle, Heny Lee Williams. My uncle was a sweet man. I still hear his laguhter. I hope he gets life in jail for what he did to my uncle. By killing my uncle he caused my grandmother to have a stroke and she died. So, I lost two family members that I was close too. You can look in his eyes and tell he don’t care. This is kind of hard for me to because this guy is my cousin. I’m not sure why they said he was a pedophile cause that’s not true. I’m not making excuses for Tyrell but it is what it is! He did not smoke crack so let’s clear that up and he doesn’t look no older than the rest of these bad azz kids. The only thing I can say is that the lady named ANGEL was right. His parents were not there for him or his brother because they were on crack. We realise that you are not to blame for your relative’s actions, but comparing your situation to that of someone who has lost two family members and will never see or hold them again is in poor taste at best.
