El Cajon, CA–Three, two to knock the crap outta her and one to stand by and watch. This fine trio of thug wannabe’s are Jeffrey Nelson, 19, Luis Osborne, 18, and Antoinette Baker, 18. They are responsible for the kidnapping and torture of 75-year-old Natalie “Sandy” Herbst-Vinge.
Nelson, a salesman from a carpet company, first came into contact with Herbst-Vinge last Monday morning…he sold her a $2,000 Kirby vacuum cleaner. Later that evening he returned to her home and asked if he could use her phone. When she turned around to allow him into her home, he attacked her from behind, choking her until she was unconscious. After he tied her hands and feet and slapped duct tape over her mouth, he ransacked her home in search of cash and credit cards. At some point, Nelson called a couple of friends to come and enjoy the mayhem. Enter Osborne and Baker.
It wasn’t enough that Nelson ripped off and choked Herbst-Vinge, I guess he had to prove himself a real thug in front of his friends, so he threw the woman in the trunk of her own car. It was time for a joy ride. The three drove to Ocean Beach in Herbst-Vinge’s car, where they hung out at the Ocean Beach pier. Good times.
When the thugs stopped to gas up the car, with Herbst-Vinge’s gas card, she managed to chew through the duct tape and scream for help. Unfortunately, the only ones to hear her scream were the assholes that kidnapped her. The cries for help earned her a few punches in the face from Nelson and Osborne. When she asked for water, she was punched again. Over and over.
For over 26-hours Herbst-Vinge was tied up and at the mercy of her three captors. 26-hours bound and gagged in the trunk with no food or water. 26-hours of beatings and abuse. In a twist of fate, the trio was busted Tuesday evening after running a red light. When police pulled the them over, Herbst-Vinge was discovered in the trunk. Next to her was a shovel. Had the cops not pulled the assholes over when they did, who knows how this nightmare would have ended for her.

, all three pleaded not guilty to charges of torture, kidnapping, robbery, willful cruelty to an elder causing great bodily injury, and theft from an elder. Nelson also pleaded not guilty to charges of carjacking, kidnapping during a carjacking, attempted murder, assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury and burglary. More charges are possible. If convicted on the torture charges, they could be looking at life in prison. A hearing has been set for December 29 to determine if there is sufficient evidence for trial. They are all being held on $2 million bail, each. While Osborn and Nelson showed no emotion in the courtroom, Baker cried like the little bitch she is. She may not have thrown any of the punches, but she didn’t go out of her way to help the woman.
As of Friday, Herbst-Vinge was still hospitalized, it is uncertain when she will be released. Her face is swollen and bruised. DoctorsDoctors reviews
believe she may have suffered a minor heart attack during the ordeal. Her family says that she is up and walking and in good spirits. My heart goes out to you Sandy…heal quickly. And as for the assholes that beat her, I hope that the boys in the big house show ‘em how it’s really done. Assholes.

Thank goodness they were stupid and there was a cop around to pull them over. They should be beat and locked in a trunk for 26 hours, then allowed to recover. Repeat for 70 years.

We only have two ads running and I am using the site in both Firefox, IE 7 and Chrome with no issues.
As far as these three go, what a bunch of idiots. Antoinette’s picture above reminds me of someone though…who is it…oh yeah!

Use a better browser for now. Like Firefox or Google Chrome. I don’t design for IE and for some reason, the ads are causing ONLY IE to act like a little bitch. PLUS, I am getting some type of script message from IE that I don’t get from the other browsers…and IE is not reporting a script message from Crimecritics.com, even though both sites are using the same plugins. Go figure. I’ll figure it out later.

I was going to comment of the overuse of razors in the eyebrow regions until I felt like I was going to throw up as the story went on and it wasn’t even funny anymore. When I got to the bottom and saw this poor lady’s photos that just about put me over the edge. I pray for her that she will recover emotionally. These are supposed to be her “Golden Years” and now they will probably always be overshadowed by fear and trauma. It’s too sad for me to think what Sandy went through in that time. I hope these punk bitches get the shit beat outta them regularly where they’re going.

Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words…the severity of what these things did to that lady hit home when I saw the “after” picture.
The fact that one of them was a Kirby salesman doesn’t surprise me. In my opinion, only a sociopath would take a job that involves cornering people in their own homes until they consent to buying an overpriced vaccuum cleaner they don’t need that will break down in two months. But, hey, that’s just me. Yeah…I was almost browbeaten into buying an overpriced Kirby a while back. When I kept saying no…no…and, uh, no! they finally left, but not after cursing me out and making fun of my disability. It was a valuable lesson about not letting anyone I don’t know into my home, and fortunately, I didn’t pay as much for it as my mother–browbeaten into buying a $2000 vaccuum that broke down after 2 months, company wouldn’t fix it unless my mother paid more money–or this lady, who, in addition to being taken advantage of, was kidnapped, tortured and nearly killed.
It’s things like this that strengthen my resolve to not open the door to anyone that I don’t know on a first name basis, especially when it’s just me and the baby at home. Scumbags usually tend to prey on women, children, the disabled and the elderly. My son and I fit three of these criteria. Good reason not to open the door. It really sucks that things have to be this way. I grew up with the law of hospitality and it pains me to be unaccomodating. But I’d rather be inhospitable than scammed, beaten up, raped, and/or killed. Higher principle and all that, you know.

I saw this story last week and it made me sick then. I only saw her before pic at that time and thought “What a happy, fun looking woman”… now, after seeing the after pictures – well I feel even more awful for her! It’s hard to just “imagine” how bad that beating was – but to actually SEE what it was – that is heart-wrenching!
I will say though, these bruises would not look quite as bad on someone 40 years younger (thinner skin = blood closer to surface = worse bruising) When my mom fell down the stairs almost 2 years ago, her bruises were similar, ie: very deep purple; widespread. Doesn’t make them hurt less, though. In the 26 hours they had her, she would have already been showing results from the beatings – yet they continued to beat her. Animals!! There is NO excuse and they should be shown NO mercy! Thank God this woman survived! She must be hella strong!
I pray for her quick and complete healing physically – and eventual healing mentally/emotionally.
Side note: Kirby vacuums — what a huge friggen scam! My daughter (when she was 18 – fresh meat for Kirby and Co.) “worked” there for a few weeks (made not 1 Cent!) No paid training, no base pay – nada. You sell “X” amount of vacs (per day or week) or you get zip. I made her quit. She didn’t want to at first cuz she’d been brainwashed into thinking if she just did “A” or just did “B” she’d be raking in the dough. She finally saw the light tho. Sorry to jump OT.

I hate when people come to my door trying to sell stuff too. Since I live in a newer neighborhood our’s was a “training” neighborhood for a while and I think they came about every other day. We didn’t get too many vacuum sales though it was mostly the “window cleaner”. As soon as you open up your door they try to put it in your hands and that just annoys me. Sorry, but I don’t know you and I am not holding some mysterious blue liquid (you know it’s never labeled) and when you tell them no they are persisent, but if you finally win the no war they walk away and say “God Bless You”. Give me a fucking break, like you really mean it. Ohh it makes me mad just writing this. I always just let my big ass dog bark behind me at them and they don’t stay very long. I know that’s kinda mean and honestly she’s very sweet, but you never know they might be casing my house. That’s like one of the oldest tricks in the book. Anyway I am done ranting and sorry to get off topic.

I once had a Kirby guy try and sell me and a roommate one of thos vacuums. We told him were were broke. He then inquired about trading the vacuum for a piece of shit car we had in the driveway.
This is the second story this year involving a salesperson. The other was about the necrophiliac who raped the corpse of a girl who was murdered by a door-to-door salesman.

LOL I had one come here just before T-day and even telling him I only have hardwoods, he still didn’t get the hint. There’s no vacuum on a hardwood, that will do a better job than good old hands and knees if need be. The driver of the Van kept beeping his horn at him and pointing to my carport.
Next day he came back and inquired about a TV I put out in the carport for a give away.
I told him to go away because 1.) I don’t find it appropriate for a Salesman to snoop in my carport and then beg for something from me aside from money. 2.) cause I’m a bitch. After he left I took it down to the landfill to the giveaway room.

Anyway, that poor woman. She was so beautiful.

I know it is not rational; but what puts me right over the edge is that he would do comething like this to a customer. Someone actually put down good money for the rotten (I gather from the rest of the commenters) merchandise, and he thanks her by visiting this sort of madness on her.

OMG as someone that works 24/7 with the elderly I on my worst day in my wildest nightmare cannot believe how anyone can do that to a older person!!!I know I dont need to tell anyone that we will all be old one day and my hope is these 3 assholes get a big taste of the abuse they have put on that woman.You can tell by the before picture shes a beautiful person and thank god she was in good enough health to carry her through that 26 hours as alot that age wouldnt have come through it!!Please take this horrible story as a warning to check on elderly people in your family or neighborhood as they are the targets of the wanna be gangsters or whatever the losers call themselves.If you dont see or hear from a elderly person in your life call them,stop by,you can even call police to check on them if you cant get ahold of them.

I’d like to know what Kirby is going to do about this!? Don’t you all think she should be able to keep the damn vacuum for free? Or at least let her return it for her money back MY GOD, her buying that vacuum cost her a LOT more than $2,000.

I have a sign on the front door “No Soliciting” and I still have idiots coming and knocking on the door.I always ask if they “would like some help learning to read?”And they answer “I know how to read’ and I point out the sign 2 inchs from their face.Also agree Kirby hold some responsibility here in their hiring practices and a few yrs ago here a elderly persons family took Kirby to court for taking advantage and selling 1 older lady 2 of them for$ 2000.00 her family sued them!! Ill stick with my Hoover Wind Tunnel personally which I bought on sale for $100.00 lol not $2000.00
