eqsgus Eric Wilder Broke Baby Elaina

Seven Mile, OH - Eric Wilder, 28, is a husband and father of two with no criminal record.  Just a normal, average guy – until he lost his temper on Tuesday and broke his seven-week old baby girl.  When Wilder and his wife took Elaina to the hospital on Tuesday evening, she had multiple fractures to both arms and her right leg.

Butler County Sheriff’s deputies and child services workers were called to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital  in Liberty Township  after medical staff reported that Elaina had injuries consistent with abuse.  Investigating deputies found that Wilder had been caring for his daughter when she was hurt, and that the break patterns indicated intentional abuse that could not have happened accidentally.

I’m speculating now, but I bet her arms and leg had spiral fractures.  Which really can’t be caused by mistake. You have to twist or yank a baby – HARD -  to cause that type of break. With almost any other break he could have argued an “oops, I dropped the baby six times, and boy does she have fragile bones” defense.  SpiralSpiral reviewsSpiral reviews fractures will get you charged every time.  And they are very painful – baby bones are a little bit bouncy and hard to break, and when they do break, they hurt.  A lot.

I hate to say “fortunately” in any abuse case, but really, Elaina was fortunate on Tuesday.  She survived.  After her bones were set, she was released to the care of her mother, who was not present when the abuse occurred.  Elaina did have to return to the hospital with complications on Thursday night, but was treated and released.

Neighbors describe the Wilder family as “nice” and Wilder himself as a “pretty good guy”.  The family has no previous contact with law enforcement.  I find it very hard to believe that the first time Eric Wilder lost his temper, his infant daughter ended up with multiple fractures of three limbs.  I think Wilder has had a hot temper for a long time – this is just the first time he hurt anyone enough that it couldn’t be explained away.

Wilder was arrested and booked into the Butler County Jail on Tuesday night.  On Thursday, he was arraigned on a charge of felony child endangerment.  He’s pleaded not guilty and made his $50,000 bond, and is due back in court for a hearing on December 16.   Wilder has been ordered to stay away from his wife and children, who are staying with relatives while Wilder is out on bail.

Divorce and sole custody, Mrs. Wilder.  Look into it.

I doubt divorce is going to happen, unless he goes to prison. People like him don’t just snap one day and start breaking bones, there has to be a history.

Heal up baby Elaina and hope mommy wises up enough so you never have to see this sperm donor again.

What a twat!!This is exactly how I ended up in geriatrics(although you have abuse there also (with stressed “kids” looking after their parents and snapping and committing elder abuse) but during my placement I was placed in peds and 5 month old was brought in with broken leg,arm and cigarette burns and I had a melt down.Having my own kids again I cant begin to fathom what goes through the head of these idiots and seems we are seeing more and more!!Hope someone sneeks into his house and gives him a few “spirals”.With all this Casey Anthony and other cases on here lately I firmly am beginning to believe in an “Eye For An Eye” or plain old vigilante justice since the other sentences out there arent making any difference!!

DirtBag, needs some serrious attitude adjustments. A 33″, solid Oak, Louisville slugger should do the job just fine. Ten or twelve Whack-A-Mole konks on the head . Follwed by a sevier beatings in the arms and leggs. Then a few steel Toed boot, kicks to the groin for good measure.

This guy looks like a gigantic prick. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had been bullying everyone around him for years.

Caring for a tiny baby is hard, especially when the baby is screaming and you don’t know what it wants. But that doesn’t mean it’s okay to break its bones. Or hit it. Or throw it across the room.

But there’s one detail that makes me wonder if this man did break the child’s bones. He has an older child that got through infancy intact. He has experience as a father and wouldn’t be as likely to get upset by the demands of a 7 week old. No one who knows him has said that he’s ever displayed a violent temper. Something doesn’t ring true here.

It’s just a thought, but I remember a while back there was another story about a baby who was apparently abused, the father was facing jail time, the mother was being encouraged to seek a divorce, and he finally snapped, shot his wife as she slept and then committed suicide. Two days later, it was found out that the baby had a genetic problem and wasn’t abused at all, so those people died for nothing. I can’t help but wonder if it may turn out that this man didn’t hurt his child after all?

I got a good old ginormous Mimosa tree out back that my chain saw won’t take down. Someone can come get it and use that on his sorry ass.

Let’s hope this Baby Mama knows a red flag when she see it.
