Johnstown, PA–‘Drop and give me 20′ was a phrase often used in 19-year-old Dawn Schrock’s household. She commanded her mentally disabled younger brother to do push-ups when he talked back or played his music too loud. PushPush reviews-ups were probably the kindest punishment she doled out to him. Withholding food may be the worst. At 6′5″, her 18-year-old brother weighed all of 118 pounds. Her brother wasn’t the only victim of abuse and neglect…her 6-month-old baby boy also suffered.

30 to report concern of the living conditions at Schrock’s home. When police arrived, they walked into a disaster area. Overflowing garbage, vomit and dog crap littered the home. Her baby boy, Dakota, was in a playpen amid the dog crap and garbage. Flies were buzzing around in an open baby formula container. There was very little food in the home. The baby looked very thin and his eyes had a sunken look. Two adult dogs and a puppy were also hungry. They hadn’t eaten in at least five days.
Police found Schrock’s younger brother upstairs. He was bloodied and bruised. The left side of his face was bruised and swollen, he had bruising on his arms and legs, he had blood around his mouth and stuck to his teeth. How did he get that way? When he annoyed his sister, who was solely responsible for his care, she would beat him. She also liked to lock him in a closet…daily. She forced him to do sit-ups and push-ups. An officer at the scene said the teen ‘appeared to be exceptionally thin and frail, with bones protruding from his frame.’ The teen is said to have the mentality of a 7-year-old. When questioned about her brother’s emaciated condition, Schrock replied, ‘He eats too much. I have to portion his food.’ Check out her pictures on Myspace, notice how healthy she looks? Schrock admitted to using her brother’s disability checks to take care of household expenses and to buy food for herself and her boyfriend. Everybody else got to starve.
Speaking of boyfriend, Schrock had a little help in her abuse of the teen. Police also arrested 25-year-old Christopher Shoopman. He didn’t let Schrock have all the fun…he had to get a few licks in too. They are both being held in lieu of $75,000 bond. They are both facing counts of false imprisonment, neglect of a care-dependent person, unlawful restraint, criminal conspiracy, and reckless endangerment. Because of the neglect of her baby, Schrock is looking at child neglect charges as well. Oh…and on top of all that, Dawn Schrock is also facing charges of forgery, receiving stolen property, and theft by deception after buying a pizza with a counterfeit $20 bill!
Schrock’s brother was treated at a local hospital and released. It is unclear where he is now. Baby Dakota was turned over to his father. After being seen by a pediatrician, Dakota is said to be in decent health. The only concern is his flat and misshapened head, which is likely the result of not being picked up for long periods of time…a typical sign of neglect. Dakota’s father will now try to regain custody.
While browsing through her photos, I noticed another little boy she claims is hers. I haven’t found any information regarding that child. I do have to wonder though, where was/is he?

I wonder whatever happened to baby Noah? All proud Mom about her baby boy Noah, then no more pics or mention of him, and all of a sudden we are proud Mom of baby Dakota?
I think Noah was hers anyway. Maybe she needs more charges brought against her.
Pretty sure they should add cruelty to animals, if her dogs hadn’t been fed for 5 days, too.
Is she in the armed forces, or is she just playing dress-up?

From what I understand, the teen chose to live with his sister. Since he is legally of age, he was allowed to do so. I guess his mentality didn’t come in to play.
Judging by her Myspace pics, it seems that she is quite involved with family. I can’t believe it took so long for someone to call on the conditions of the home and the people and pets in it.
Maybe nobody else wanted to take care of the teen. Poor kid. Hope he’s somewhere nice and clean with a big plate full of food in front of him.

Wow, what really hit me was the part about the baby’s head being flat from not being held. Then she’s abusing her poor brother and dogs. How can anyone live in a shithouse like that??? We have a new puppy and she’s learning, but has some accidents (pretty normal). The second she does though it is cleaned up because I don’t want my house to stink like ass, plus I have a little girl and I wouldn’t want her to be exposed to anything like that. Gross!!!!

I had to fight to get my name on the birth certificate and all I got for it was a bill from CPS for child support, still didnt give me any rights or visitation though. Its pretty fucked up and bio-mommy held all the cards.

I sympathize. I’ve been witness to more than one female using a child as a pawn, only for the courts to legitimize it by refusing to grant visitation rights and such. It’s important to fight for these things, and absolutely tragic that dad’s don’t always win. I mean, what’s so wrong with visitation? Even if it’s supervised?

How can you sit there and watch any living thing starving while you have a full belly? An infant and a young man with a mental disability left in the hands of a 19yr old walking piece of trash. She was happy to cash the checks to feed herself and her boyfriend, but, the dogs and the two boys she should have been caring for were just out of luck. Thank goodness that someone alerted the authorities and that this wasn’t a story about two dead boys instead. I wish the guards would forget to feed her for five days and let her know how it feels to be hungy while everyone else gets to eat.

I have knows Chris for many many years, I find these charges to be out of character. Chris has a mentally challenged brother whom he cared for deeply, and he has been with my daughters and my nieces there whole life and never have I seen any hints of viloence in his nature. I do not not know Dawn but all of her pictures that I have seen on her myspace profile show a happy family and the home always seems clean. I hope that this is not going to turn out to be a bunch of he said she said family drama over the money in witch the state provided for the care of her brother. Further more I have worked with mentally challenged youths and adults and some of them look like walking bones due to some health issues or some fetishes could this be the case here? I have all so wittnessed individual that have struck themselves to cause injuries during an acting out episode could this be the case? Maybe I am grasping at straws because I have known Chris since he was a boy and know his character but these questions seems legitmate to me.

Wouldnt it be nice to live in a country where we are innocent until proven guilty? One can only dream huh? When this story first hit I went to her myspace page and all the pictures showed her house to be clean, the dogs well fed and her or Chris holding the baby. Do you all remember the case on here where a police officer was charged with abusing his daughter, the child was placed in fostercare and he was facing criminal charges. So he put a gun to his wifes head and to his own three days later they found the child had a medical condition and he in fact DID Not commit this awful crime……He committed sucide out of fear not guilt

U.S. Marshals arrested a man in Kentucky wanted by Johnstown Police.
Christopher Shoopman was arrested Tuesday night at a home on Somerset, Kentucky. Johnstown Police have a bench warrant for Shoopman. He’s charged with false imprisonment, unlawful restraint, criminal conspiracy and reckless endangerment.
U.S. Marshals in Tennessee profiled Shoopman and a co-defendant Dawn Schrock on television as fugitives. After that Marshals investigated several leads and found out that Shoopman lived in Kentucky. Marshals surveyed the home and identified Shoopman. They arrested him without incident. Schrock turned herself in.

Schrock was pregnant when she was released from jail. She was out awaiting sentencing. Looks like she ran away again. They found her in Tennessee. Schrock is currently waiting for an extradition hearing in Tennessee. Even her own father didnt think she should be released on bond.

christopher is a abusive piece of shit i know him and have known him for years, AND I KNOW HIS WIFE AND DAUGHTERS that live in tennessee.I also know dawn and shes just a big of a piece of shit as he is. Christophers wife is a good women who kicked his ass to the curb because he was sleeping with a 17 year old girl that his wife hired to babysit their children because christopher was to sorry to work and take care of his kids,and as for the baby christopher and dawn just had hes in good hands he is being well takin care of, and if u want to know about christopher hes in jail in tennessee still because he was wanted to beating his wife(after she threw him out) and theft and violating probation and hasnt even faced charges here in pa yet and dawn will be getting out any time she got 6 months with time served.
