Jason Pate Has A Slow Learning Curve

Nashville, TN – Jason Pate, ladies and gentlemen, is an idiot of the highest order.  In 1997, he was convicted of federal charges involving distribution and possession of child pornography.  Not only was he convicted in 1997 of federal child pornography charges, he was arrested again on the same charges in Nashville, TN.  Only this time, he had a server full of images being transmitted around the world.   I mean, we are talking about a major clearinghouse of kiddy porn, available to anyone with an internet connection anywhere in the world.

The detective in charge of this case, Det. Rob Carrigan, says that the server and two laptops confiscated represent hundreds of images, stories and movies depicting the sexual molestation or exploitation of thousands of minors, including infants and toddlers. (By the way, he’s being held on ONE count of sexual exploitation of a minor, while forensics does an in-depth search and catalogue of the contents of his computers.  Something tell me there will be MANY more charges forthcoming.)

Now, putting aside personal opinion as much as I can, I can’t help but wonder.  Is he REALLY that dumb? I mean, they caught his nasty ass once, did he really think he was going to escape notice this time?  I can only assume that he knew the jig was up, because the day before he was arrested, he quit his job with the software company he had been working for in Nashville.  I found, in my searching, a zoominfo page that may, or may not be his.  I’m linking it without claim either way.

I think, perhaps, the most disturbing part of this case is that he was married, and has a three month old child.  Neither his spouse or the child have been identified by any article I have found, and personally, I would prefer to keep it that way.  They don’t deserve to be vilified.  I wouldn’t marry someone i knew was a registered sex offender, and I’m not sure yet that she knew.  Plus…  there are pictures of infants in his clearinghouse collection of porn.  And until we’re certain that the child isn’t part of the collection, I don’t think we should even try to find out more about the mother and child.

I would love for someone who knows this idiot to tell us more about who Jason Pate actually is, and why he thought that he could get away with something like this.  Because of the magnitude of the situation, though… The Feds have already been called in.  Expect more charges, and possibly international ones.

    that’s exactly why i keep saying pedo’s need to be locked up in solitary in the bowels of the worst prisons in america until the day they drop dead after the first offense. because they never change. and more often than not, the only thing they learn from the first punishment is that they can’t leave around any witnesses to “get them in trouble.” and that way of thinking leads to molested and MURDERED children. no second chances!

    OMG thats so disturbing.You guys at least have the advantage of a sexual offenders list thats available to you,WE DONT!!A man in my moms building was busted not long ago he raped and murdered his girlfriends grandson he had agreed to babysit for a few hours!!He was a registered sex offender but we arent allowed access to names on that list because according to Canadian Goverment ,THEY ARE ENTITLED TO THEIR PRIVACY!! I found that out when I called RCMP to ask what the internet addy for us was!!So this little boys murder couldve been prevented!I am glad they have Jason Pate and hopefully keep him along time so Bubba in cell block H can have fun with the freak of nature,,

    Some states, like Virginia, have a system whereby sexual offenders are housed in the state hospital system for an indefinite period of time after release from prison. I know because my former Sis-in-Law is a Nurse Practitioner at one facility in Virginia.

    I believe every state in the US has a sex offender registry…it takes about 2-3 minutes to get results. Find it, use it, love it.

    yeah florida’s is under the FDLE website for anyone who wants to check on their friends neighbors or anyone ………………………….anyhow this jerk looks like he couldn’t be trusted porn of a child is sick and if he gets his rocks off on shit like that then he needs to be put out of his misery as well as everyone around him and his wife probley has no idea what he was up to

    I agree w/ a lot of the posts on this topic…I believe I said so in previous posts that pedophiles/sex offenders get LESS time than someone caught w/ a pound of pot and they ALWAYS re-offend, whether they get caught or not determines whether we find out about it…but this case further solidifies my belief that SEX OFFENDERS, especially child molesters NEVER change, will continue to hurt and victimize children and families. We should lock up sex offenders forever and castrate them if at all possible. These people cannot be trusted and will never be contributing members of society…

    This was a great write up, and additionally to his learning curve, Jason Pate has a balding Pate to boot! Someone needs to drop him down a manhole and let him live in the sewers for the rest of his life.. That’s where all these POS belong in the sewer with all the rest of the shit in this world.. What an ugly, fat earth worm he is, WHO would marry that asshat.. I hope his baby is not on any of the porno shit he spread around the world.. If I was his wife, I’d be scrubbing myself with a wire brush…

    No, pedophiles don’t typically change…Just like schizophrenics or people who experience manic depression don’t typically change. However, in many cases, all three of the above can be treated.

    I understand why a court wouldn’t see life in prison a fit sentence after his initial conviction. But what I don’t understand is why ongoing therapy isn’t made a mandatory release requirement. If a person violently assaults another as the result of, say, psychosis of some sort, it’s practically guaranteed that the individual will receive treatment. But, for whatever reason, we refuse to treat pedophilia for what it is – a mental illness. Instead, in most cases, we slap their name on a registry, tell them where to live and hope for the best.

    It’s counter-productive. In the case of pedophiles, we need to be more focused on prevention – proactive therapy rather than reactive incarceration. Sure, it’ll be expensive, but how long will we bear the alternative?
