Macedo released his victim after hearing someone calling for her and maybe thinking he was still good for a bit more hot wedding reception action, returned to the community center. I guess he didn’t pause to consider who might’ve been calling for his victim, who, I imagine, rushed right to that person and said something along the lines of, “Mommy! Mommy! That man hurt me!”
You see, Macedo’s dance partner was a little girl. Police aren’t releasing her age at this time–merely indicating that she is under 13.
Kudos to the girl’s mother. Upon hearing what had happened, she immediately sought out Macedo and punched him in the face. He then fled.
Macedo was arrested early SundaySunday reviews morning and is said to have confessed. He is being charged with child rape, sodomy on a child, and child kidnapping. He faces from five years to life in prison if convicted.
The victim’s mother is not being charged for her assault on Macedo.

FYI, we don’t know that she was anally raped. The legal definition of “sodomy” varies from state to state–it doesn’t necessarily mean anal penetration.

Great job to the mom but I am saddened for her and the little girl for what she had to go through and the trauma she experienced and for mom sorry you have to go through this as well but the mom sounds like a great mom who will be there for her child through all of this NOW for HIM he should never get out of jail because he is a RAPIST and he will get out and do this AGAIN trust ME, why does no one, judges see this, lock him up for ever and never let him out,….. he will rape again

Of the 200 guest, the only dance partner he could find is a girl under 13??? I think I would have been a little weirded out by him even dancing with my daughter let alone taking her outside with him.

I agree, I would have been cautious too, but seeing that he was at a relatives wedding, he may either be related to the victim or could have been a close family friend. Either way, it doesn’t matter because what he did was heinous.
Sex at a young age is already emotional even if it is concentual, and being raped just makes it 100 times worse. This poor girl is going to be afraid to trust boys that want to date her. I hope she gets some good counseling. Kudos to her mom.

i believe it is also classified as ‘deviant’ or ‘force-able sex’. changed the language around to include just about anything thats done to someone during rape methinks. plus it looks like it almost always a part of the charges for this kind of thing and another count to the long list is never bad for such scumbags!

Utah state definition of Sodomy is:
76-5-403.1. Sodomy on a child.
(1) A person commits sodomy upon a child if the actor engages in any sexual act upon or with a child who is under the age of 14, involving the genitals or anus of the actor or the child and the mouth or anus of either person, regardless of the sex of either participant.
(2) Sodomy upon a child is a first degree felony punishable by a term of imprisonment of:
(a) except as provided in Subsection (2)(b), not less than 25 years and which may be for life; or
(b) life without parole, if the trier of fact finds that:
(i) during the course of the commission of the sodomy upon a child the defendant caused serious bodily injury to another; or
(ii) at the time of the commission of the sodomy upon a child, the defendant was previously convicted of a grievous sexual offense.
(3) Imprisonment under this section is mandatory in accordance with Section 76-3-406.
