I am glad they were so stupid that they took the babies for a routine checkup. They actually thought that the babies were fine and the doc wouldn’t notice unbathed, bruised, and broken kids.
I hope they take the kids away from the grandparents too. They raised a bunch of fucktards the first time. Will this time be different? Is society willing to take that chance?

You’ve got a great point there.
David Simpson is now being held in jail facing two counts of felony child abuse…his bond is set at $25,000.
Why has the bond been set so low on cases like this?
Others say that DSS should have stepped in a lot sooner. Months ago, Simpson, his wife, and the twins were living in a trailer with Niki Hawksins’ daughter. When Hawksins would visit the trailer, she found it to be an unsafe environment for the children. “The house was trashed. I mean, there was trash everywhere. The smell was unreal when you walked in the house.” It was because of that that several people made calls to DSS and asked them to check up on the babies. DSS did, and did nothing. Had they truly gotten involved and gave those babies a thorough examination, they may not have suffered as long as they did.
Had they been able to smell it may have given them a clue.
Sorry about the ranting, this just pisses me off!

Again tiny little defenseless babies hurt by people who should be the ones to protect them. Babies cry ,so to make them stop you twist their little toes and ears? Where the hell is the logic in that? What the hell is wrong with people. You inflict pain on little ones they cry. You neglect them , they cry. You abuse them them , they cry. Poor daddy HAD to look after his babies. Awww that just breaks my heart. His father sounds like he should be given the Idiot of the Year Award. I also lost a brother but I didn’t react like a “can of soda” just waiting to explode. What kind of lame ass excuse is that? This type of logic makes me so angry. Protect the selfish, whining adult, who knows better. I hope the babies are placed somewhere outside of the family with people who will cherish them , as babies should be loved and cherished.

I don’t care what his defenders say, David Simpson is a baby beating asshole. Any person that can twist a babies toes until they break is a waste of space and oxygen.
My sentiments exactly! “Oh, poor wittle David never got over his brother’s death so he beat his babies.” Bullshit. Maybe, just maybe, if his family treated him like an adult once in a while and held him accountable for his actions, this wouldn’t have happened. Usually the abusive asshats who pull this crap are coddled beyond all belief by overprotective parents who never allow them to grow up.
And what sort of negligent jackass doesn’t bathe infants for three months? I feel like a negligent bitch when I miss bathing my son for one night because it’s too cold and I worry he’ll get chilled. Oh, and my son can be very annoying. Little guy has some lungs on him. He’ll be quiet and happy all day until Law & Order (my favorite show) comes on and then he’ll start wailing. Do I hit him? Twist his toes until they break? Uh, no. I turn the captioning on so I don’t miss anything, give him his colic medication, a bottle and a good burping. Then I sit him in his bouncy chair and turn on his little aquarium display. Works like a charm. Classic coping skills. Too bad this jackass and his wife couldn’t figure them out. Oh, yes. I went there. The wife is just as guilty if she was present in the home while this was going on. If she was on a three month business trip or something of that nature and had no idea what was going on, then I’m sorry for the assumption.

Bryson City, NC–David Lee Simpson is a bad daddy. When his 4-month-old twin sons cried, he got annoyed. Instead of calming and soothing the babies, he brutally beat them, leaving them bruised and broken. When the babies cried, he would squeeze them…he would twist their ears and their little toes. Investigators said the abuse began when the twins were just a month old, that was also the last time the babies had been bathed.
Okay…abuse began at 1 month, taken away at 4 months. in between there, there should be doctors visits…did their doctor not notice or did they not take them. On top of that, who eventually took the kids away? Sorry, just a little confused is all.
Hope that sack of shit burns in hell and in jail…

Fuck you “mom”! Even if you were on a business trip (which, since he only watched them exclusively on the weekends I doubt) YOU FAIL! Anyone who saw these babies in the last 3 months FAILED them!
I pray they fully recover and that they go to a brand new, non-family home! I pray “dad’s” dick and “mom’s” ovaries shrivel up and die so they can NEVER procreate again!!

I just dont get it….your kids crying so you twist their toes, lets see if inflicting pain on you makes you smile and coo. Why cant we give him the same dose of medicine he gave those babies. He knew what he was doing was wrong. I just hope those babies go to loving and PROTECTIVE arms and forget all the terrible things that happened to them. I would like to ask the mother how do you not know if your baby has a broke leg??? Sickos.

I completly and totally agree. Instead of sticking up for this piece of shit his parents should have been more worried about making sure that their grand babies were okay. Even if they were not abused they had not been bathed in what two three months??? Disgusting. DSS failed again and the result is two very hurt little boys.

All the abuse is horrific, but the filth they had to live in and the not bathing just takes it over the top for me. When my daughter was that young, we had to bath her pretty much everyday. Babies don’t care if they throw up on themselves ya know. And even now that my daughter is 3 we still bath her every other day and she’ll get “in betweens” if she gets really messy. This guy is just fucked up!

I can’t believe they hire case works with below 70IQ, must be orders from the top you never remove children, I mean its case after case and DCS has been called 90% of the time, has to be about budgets, money and the next raise/Bonus. Seriously if DCS employees are intelligent enough to answer the phone, they’ve got to be smarter than this. Has to be the system, it’s set up to not care. I feel some case workers start out trying to make a deference but get shot down so many times they become disillusioned, knowing they’re not allowed to help those in need.

The BIGGER issue Courts should be addressing is the ability for any human to inflict such torturing pain on a baby! They always focus on the before…but what about during and the after, what logical reactions of the children were….hmmm….and then continuing to hurt and torture and break them. Never cleaning them, the house, HELLO! This says I’M A SICK, DEFECTIVE, SADISTIC INDIVIDUAL THAT DESERVES TO DIE or be removed from society forever! It’s not just a crime, its the SICK FUCKS that are among us that need to go! Meanwhile a judge or jury are adding degrees up, counting years off, added to what kind of plea, how many witness testimony they have to then come up with a – TAH DAH- “Sentence”. Like broken or dead children aren’t enough evidence to give away a life sentence.

this hurts me terribly, as do many of the stories on this site. it horrifies me that people can be so cruel to others… especially their own flesh and blood.
i also HATE excuses of any kind. honestly, if you are making an excuse for something- you know that what you did was wrong and you know you shouldn’t have done it, but you want to make someone feel sorry for you.
this pathetic idiot’s father should be locked up too. sorry your son died, man, but that does not make it okay for your other son to hurt innocent helpless human beings.
and the MOTHER? oh my good god! maybe she didn’t inflict the abuse on her children, but she sure as hell knew about it.
and the babies having not been bathed in 3 months? that’s enough for the death penalty in my book. sometimes my son falls asleep before his evening bath and i feel like a horrible mother!
this kind of stuff makes my skin crawl. i just hope that the grandparents are better people… and maybe they are! just because their daughter turned out to be a horrible person doesn’t necessarily mean that they are.
my thoughts are with these little ones. i hope they have a better life, now.
