West Pittston, PA - Last Thursday night, John A. Patterson was just hanging out at home, watching a little computer porn, when his doorbell rang. He left the video running in his bedroom to go answer the door, and pulled it open to find law enforcement standing there with a search warrant. Patterson, 48, had one thing to say: “I’m fucked. My life is over.”  The porn video playing on his bedroom computer as police walked in? Was of children.
And it wasn’t the only kiddie porn in the apartment. By the time investigators were finished searching, John Patterson had earned himself a staggering 279 counts of sexual abuse of children for possession of child pornography. Two hundred and seventy-nine counts.Â
The laundry list of items found in John Patterson’s apartment included digital video cameras found in a duffel bag under Patterson’s bed, something like 80 VHS tapes of child porn, 77 camcorder tapes, 60 flash drives for his computer, and little kids’ dirty underwear stashed in the space between the drop ceiling tiles and the actual ceiling of Patterson’s bedroom.
Um, John Patterson? “Fucked” does not begin to describe your predicament.
The investigation into Patterson’s pervy proclivities started back in June, when he uploaded a bunch of kiddie porn pictures to PixPipeline.com. PixPipeline reported the uploads to the CyberTipline at the National Center for MissingMissing reviews
and Exploited Children, showing that 18 photos were uploaded on two dates in June. The IP address traced to John A. Patterson.
After four months of investigation, Luzerne County got the case, and they wasted no time getting a search warrant on Thursday afternoon. And by Thursday night, Patterson was…yeah.
John A. Patterson was arrested and is being held in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on $50,000 bond. Which really, now that I think about it, seems kinda low.

that is just so horrible. it is hard to imagine a grown man getting off on innocent children. any one for that matter . this is a sad world we live in , i have 4 children and it scares me to death if i lose sight of them at the park or grocery store even for a second. all because you never know what type of person is standing next to u. i bet he worked near children. sick fker.

This seemed to go really smooth. So thanks to Law Enforcement too for acting fast. Everyone did the right thing and because of that he is off the streets (for a little while at least). I am with the rest of you, children are innocent beings, why would you even want to look at that – GROSS!

This man is a sicko along with the 100’s of 1000’s of other sickos out there.
One thing that bothers me is why isn’t law enforcement shutting down these sites? Some are left up as bait and that’s equally as exploitative as someone visiting them and downloading their content.
We often hear how they caught this perp and that perp but never the head honcho running the damn rings.
People like this need to be castrated and while I’m glad they are catching them, I often wonder about their methods. In this case, they sure as hell know where the pictures originated from prior to putting them on pixpipeline. A simple computer forensics would determine that one.
I am so glad those people turned him in. Kudos to them! But I won’t be totally happy till I hear they went after everyone on all these places of origin.
