Bring Back The Baby Corpse, Kids. C’mon.

Canton, WI – Ah, HalloweenHalloween reviews
. It’s that time of year when evil runs amok in the hearts of men and emo runs amok in the hearts of teenagers. You keep your black cats inside, buy plenty of cleaning fluids for the egg fights and silly string, and install concrete vaults around the graves of your dead, right? Because otherwise, some pesky kids or weird Satanists are likely to cruise by your local haunted cemetery and steal a baby corpse. Hey, it happens. Yay Halloween!Â
This year, the baby corpse – or, to be more accurate, the baby skeleton, probably – was stolen from Pioneers Rest Cemetery just north of Canton sometime late SundaySunday reviews
night or early Monday morning. The cemetery sexton, David Bandli, was driving by the plot early on Tuesday when he noticed a pile of dirt that seemed out of place.
Bandli got out of his car and went to check, and found this hole, which was four feet deep by 20 inches wide and 4 1/2 feet long:

were a few pieces of an infant’s casket. The grave belonged to “Baby Locke”, who was born and died in 1925. Baby Locke had, until his disinterrment, lain undisturbed in a plot near his one year old brother Leonard Locke, who was born in 1928 and died in 1929. Also nearby are the graves of their parents, Elsie Locke (1896-1966) and William Locke (1895-1968).
Baby Locke’s surviving brother, Don Locke, who is now 78 years old, was disgusted and upset when told that his brother’s grave had been disturbed and the remains likely taken for Halloween use. Don Locke issued a plea for the return of his brother’s mortal remains. Locke also said that Baby Locke was a full term infant who died of disease, probably diphtheria.
Barron County Sheriff’s Department officials say that they currently have no suspects, but are hopeful that Baby Locke’s remains will be recovered. The graverobbers could face jail time for vandalism, grave robbing and defacement of property.
Next time, you pesky kids, just go to the Halloween store and ask for something in the baby skull section.

I doubt very much it smelt at all after eighty years.
And those inconsiderate adolescents who dug the bones up probably didn’t think for a minute there might be living relatives still and they might be hurt by their antics.
I do hope the remains are returned so Mr Locke can lay his brother properly to rest again.

Ah yes, Wisconsin front paged again. I’m so proud.
So sad that there is a living relative who has to agonize over this. Hope the remains are found and reburied.

I guess the ground shifts enough with time for people to unbury what was buried, and that was an old old grave. Nowdays they go over the filled grave with one of those heavy roller machines, to pack it real tight – that’s something no one will dig unless they have one of those big digger machines they also use to dig the grave in the first place. (Watching it is quite fun, even tho the grave is the age of reuse you get all kinds of bits of bones turn up.)
Don’t know things work in US though…

This coffin was probably wood and rotted away. That’s why old graves are sunken often. The coffin has collapsed. New coffins don’t rot, the corpse rots inside of them.
I bet these idiots are staring at the bones and wondering what to do with them. Sell them on Ebay? Take them to a pawn shop? Rebury them so they don’t get found out? I’m betting on the latter. If they had any class, they’d at least dump the bones back into their grave.

“If they had any class, they’d at least dump the bones back into their grave”
If they had any class they wouldn’t have done it in the first place.

This is a sad thing to read about… If I were mama and papa locke, I would be haunting their STUPID ASSES until they were caught and my childs bones were once again laid to rest.
Pathetic little pieces of shit. Damn

Old graves sink because there is no grave liner or vault to prevent decay and collapse. Now, a concrete vault is usually used, to help prevent/prolong decay. Handy if they ever need to exhume a body. The coffin would still rot if no liner is used.
I hope they get that poor baby’s remains back.
