“I’ve been dreaming about her. I catch myself calling Penny and I know she ain’t here,” she said. “She is like a little child to me. She’s got a heart too, but she got four legs,” she said of her beloved Penny. “She’s my pet, she’s my child — I could say my little girl, my little companion.”

Bowens said people in the community have contacted her and offered to give her another pug.

“I’m gonna get me another one. I’m gonna love it just like I loved Penny,” she said, “but Penny’s always going to be there in this heart.”

Bowens said she will not accept a new dog until she first moves into another home. She said she’s basically been forced to move since her home has been broken into twice, and the local housing authority is helping her find a safe place to live.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has gotten involved in the case by offering a reward of up to $2,500 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.

That’s just wrong…unless like I said she really pissed someone off….They need to keep watch on that home and see what happens, that is so brazen to break in again!

Thanks, it’s been hard….still. The vet said she had a condition that was basically undetetectable unless you know to test for it. I know it sounds silly, but I am really am glad for the time I had with her. I can remember many days coming home and her meeting me at the door all crazy like and if I had a rough day I could just hug her or she would put her muzzle on my knee, look at up me with those eyes and just make it all better. Plus she was so good with my daughter. I just couldn’t of asked for a better dog. Ok enough, I’m getting all teary eyed. Thanks again for the ((hugs))

Oh gosh, I am too. But at least I have the decency to feel guilt over it, I suppose. It’s not her house, which is fine, or her education level. Maybe it’s the accent a bit. I swear I first thought she was calling the dog Penii. Even the end of the video for me – she’s grieved and moving, yet her face and demeanor is the pure kind of sad of say, a 5yr old, which then made me start to grin a bit. If my little one drew a picture of Sad, it would look like Ms. Bowens. I hope they find the sick fuck that did this to her and her little dog.

omg ,i have a small animal rescue here i run from my home after working at one for 15 yrs i opened my own i still after all these yrs cant believe some of the abuse i come across,i have a beautiful 32 lb main coon that came to me a furless 5 month old bundle of bandages and burns,ears partly burnt off etc just unbelievable how someone could light him on fire,,but we knew he was a fighter and called him ozzy(ozzy osbourne) and hes lived up to his name we had our dog 15 yrs she came to use both front legs busted,all her ribs,1/2 tail missing,1 ear busted up and we kept her since she got used to us and we didnt wanna move her to another place but my point is there are some fucked up people out there and they do some some really fucked up stuff and its sad,i feel if trhey are that way with amnimals how the hell do you think they treat other people

How sad.Having 2 dogs who are like my children I can understand how distraught this women was.Though I doubt someone would get my 2 german shepherds into a oven or anywhere else without losing a few limbs.

I just lost my german shepherd not even two months ago and I was devestated. She died a little early, about 7 1/2 years because she had a heart attack. I had to laugh about what you said saying they wouldn’t be able to get her in the oven, but god if anyone did something like that, I would of died right there I think. How cruel and uncalled for, well maybe. Bonnie could have some skeletons in the closet, you never know, but to go for the dog – just wrong. Serial killers start with animals…….
