Maltese, in shackles and handcuffs, said nothing during the brief hearing.

Maltese was taken back to Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick, where he is being held in lieu of $2 million. Taylor is there in lieu of $1 million bail.

Maltese filed a missing persons report with South Brunswick police on Oct. 17, telling officers the couple was last heard from Oct. 10. A day later, Maltese was charged with false swearing for giving wrong information about when and where he last saw his parents, authorities said. He was released without bail following that charge.

He and Taylor, who lived together in his parents’ mobile home since August, were arrested the day before the bodies were found.

The 12-count indictment includes charges of theft, unauthorized use of the couple’s credit cards and hindering.

Maltese and Taylor were engaged after the slayings, buying an engagement ring with the couple’s stolen credit card, authorities said.[/quote]

It could be very possible that his parents weren’t the greatest and did this to him BUT…instead of murdering them he could have said, “I am going to choose to be better than my parents are, I am going to do the right thing, I am going to use this time living with my parents to get a job, save money, get my act together and get on my feet so that I can marry my girlfriend and start a new life doing things THE RIGHT WAY” No, he chose instead to kill them, which accomplishes what exactly??
