Michael Norman & Kathy Massie Define Irony

Pikeville, KY - Sometimes the irony writes itself. Like in this Myspace blog from Kathy Massie, the mother of Trevor Jordon Norman. Called “Daddy It HURTS!”, the entry is a poem about a child killed by his raging, abusive father. Funny, that, since Massie’s infant son nearly died last month from a broken leg caused by (guess who?) his raging, abusive father. Â
Michael Shawn Norman, 28, and Kathy Massie, 32, had their son Trevor in late 2007 or early 2008 – the only comment on his pictures at his mother’s MyspaceMySpace
is dated January 5, by which time he was home from the hospital. So Trevor is probably ten or eleven months old – much too young to cry, “Daddy, It HURTS!” when being abused by his father.
Neighbors at the apartment complex where the couple live say they saw a problem with baby Trevor last month. His leg wasn’t working right, they said, and the child seemed to be in pain all the time. But Massie and Norman didn’t want to take her son to the hospital. When faced with the prospect of having the neighbors call police, the couple finally took their baby into the ER.

were appalled. Trevor had a spiral fracture to the demur that was dangerously close to the femoral artery. One wrong move – or one more hard pull, or one more beating – and Trevor’s broken thigh bone could easily have perforated the large artery, killing him.
Massie and Norman told police at first that the neighbors hurt their baby. They named first one, then another, as people who might have had Trevor and dropped him off, badly injured, with his innocent parents. Except that the break, on X-ray, was days old. When taken into the police station for questioning, Michael Norman admitted he had caused the break, but said he’d accidentally dropped the child.

fractures cannot occur from a simple fall. A spiral fracture happens when a baby’s limb is pulled and twisted with great force by a strong adult. A person has to work to break a baby’s leg like that – or be so enraged that he or she has lost all reason. Bruising would definitely be present, as would excruciating pain.
Kathy Massie, for her part, knew her baby was badly hurt, and did nothing. Maybe she fell prey to the “I’ve gotta keep my penis” syndrome we see so often here. Or maybe, when she posted that blog entry in AugustAugust reviews 2007, while she was pregnant, she was just hormonal. Doesn’t matter, really. She failed her baby. She let him suffer. As Massie herself wrote, “you would have to be one heartless person not to be affected” by child abuse.
For his part, Michael Norman is just a garden-variety child abusing asshole. His Myspace seems to have been put there by his maybe-wife, maybe-babymama (both Myspaces say they’re married, but her name hasn’t changed and I can’t find a marriage license online). There is barely a mention of baby Trevor, even though Norman was using the page until his child was six months old. No pictures. And no pictures of his “Kit-Kat”, Massie, either. Instead, he has a few shots of other girls – girls he’d liked to have dated, no doubt, but couldn’t afford. GirlsGirls reviews who didn’t have time to comment on his page – but Kathy Massie did. Often. He didn’t return the favor.
Last week, a Pike County grand jury handed down indictments for both Michael Norman and Kathy Massie. They were arrested on FridayFriday reviews and charged with third-degree felony child abuse – kind of a light charge, in my opinion. Kathy Massie is still in custody at the Pike County Detention Center – but Michael Norman isn’t. Vinelink Kentucky has his status as “transferred” and his location as “unknown”. I suppose that “Location: a hole in the ground” is too much to ask.
So Jaded is all over these asshats in our forums.

Hi I am new to posting comments here, although I have been an avid reader for the last 2 weeks. First I would like to mention that on his page he has himself down as married yet he also has added that he is available for – Networking, Dating, Serious Relationships, Friends . Yes as handsome and charming ( sputter, cough, sputter, cough ) as he appears , did he have a brain fart and forget he was married? Not only married he has an infant son. I am so tired of hearing how these people keep claiming to have “dropped” the baby. Being the mom of 4 boys I can’t recall a time when my month old sons squirmed so much that I just couldn’t hold onto the little critters. How does one drop an infant? Do you grease them up real good so they just naturally squirt right out of your arms? As for the proud momma, what can you say? Another desperate, lonely woman who thinks she has the catch of the century. Gotta keep that hunk of man at all costs. God forbide that she wake up and find a decent man. I think that they both should have the exact same injury done to them and let them lay around for days, weeks, perhaps months and experience first hand the pain that the baby went through. When will people learn that babies/children are to be cherished and not abused by the very people who are meant to love and protect them? Thank you for letting me rant . I am just so sick and tired of these lame ass mothers who are more concerned with keeping their worthless, fugly , cowardly, abusive, baby beating men , than protecting and caring for the the tiny little defenseless child they gave birth to.

Stories like these make me sick. It’s one thing to live with an abusive asshole yourself, that’s your perrogative but to submit your baby to abuse, father or not, is just not right.. then to cover it up by not doing anything about it is just wrong. I hope the judge throws the book at both of them!

I have had my left ulna broken due to a spiral fracture. The offender claimed I had fallen on myself and broke it. I called police and had an x-ray show that it was, in fact, a spiral fracture that couldnt have been fallen on. This was 6 months ago so I vividly remember the pain. It hurt so bad. All I wanted was to curl up, nurse and hold close my broken wrist area. It still hurts and pops weird. I’d like to think I have a pretty high pain tolerence, too. I have tattoos and piercings, I can deal with a little pain.
What that poor baby had to live with, without vicodin, for days while his parents pointed fingers. He needs to be taken away and these losers need jail sentences…long sentences. He could have died and it would have been both of their faults.
Gyspy_Soul, right on and I agree! Both of these people need to work on loving themselves before they can love anyone else.

Welcome Gypsy_Soul.. My second marriage I was married to a piece of shit, ex-marine spouse abuser.. I adored him, after every beating he was so sorry… neddless to say I finally left with my three little girls… If he ever touched one of them I would have killed him.. Even though I was petrified of him.. There is NO EXCUSE for child abuse.. Throw the fucker out and be done with him.. It’s not worth it…
