Wow!! Is it just me or alot of these people that a spanish decent are not restaining there kids. Since being on here I seen at least 2 on here. I even had the personal experince of seeing a hispanic woman in a little white hatchback with six kids none of them were not restraint and one was in the hatchback where it is not safe to be!! Alot of the parents there were talking about her, and how she doesnt have carseats in her car. And she can get them easily for free from where I am at.

Yes, I’m sure it was because she’s hispanic. Just like Crystal Snow or Joni Kelley.

*sigh* I hate stupid people. I really, really hate stupid people. And, honestly, there’s no other way to describe this lady. You don’t drive a car without a license. You do put small children in carseats. You do make sure they’re properly installed. And if you don’t, then you keep the freakin’ windows rolled up! Geez! Why are they (stupid people) allowed to breed?

How in hell does one drive for blocks and not know that 1 the door has opened and 2 that the child that was in the back seat is no longer in the car??what in hell was she smoking??

WTF is up in my neighborhood lately? What is this… the 3rd time this WEEK a story has come out of Indianapolis? Geez!

I don’t know how this baby wasn’t more seriously injured — but thank God she wasn’t. It’s also a miracle the other child didn’t fall out after her! What was mom doing that she didn’t see the open door in her side mirror? 2 blocks??
Thank heavens for the police officer— right place, right time and quick thinking! Man… this could have been so much worse!

I think many of us do really stupid things, but hopefully we learn from them. Many years ago, I took my young daughter to visit my grandparents. My grandmother helped my daughter, who was three years old, into her carseat, then leaned in and hugged and kissed her. I was standing outside the car door and my grandparents, brother, two nieces and a nephew were with me, each of them leaning into the car to hug my daughter, then hugging me good-bye. Once the round of “love you” and “drive safely” was over, i shut the car door, got in the driver’s seat and took off. It was only after we had gone a few miles that my daughter SCREAMED from the back seat “MOMMY I AM NOT BUCKLED!”. That is right – no one (myself included) actually latched the restraints. After I stopped the car and buckled her in properly, I had to take a moment to cry, because images of what could have happened flashed through my mind. This was the first day of the “check-recheck” system. Under this system, I make sure the kids are buckled, then before I put the car in gear the kids check that they are buckled. Now that my daughter is old enough to buckle her own seatbelt, I still check that she is properly buckled before the car goes in drive.

That has happened to me too- and I am affectionately called “the seatbelt nazi” by my teen boys, so it’s not like I am not conscientious about it. My little ones who are still in boosters have trouble buckling themselves so we taught them that Mom and Dad make mistakes too so if we ever forget to buckle them, to tell us right away.

However, that is totally different than this dipshit’s blatant neglect. I report drivers like her to the FHP every single time I see them. It doesn’t matter how good YOU drive-it only takes one other idiot and your kid is dead.
